I'd rather cut Reid and Shippley. Gino might be done, too.
We have 12 o-linesmen on the roster including Mims & Stephens from the PS, & Hurst a UdFA. Typically we carry 9 on the active roster and 2 are carried on the PS so that excludes guys like Reid and Shipley. I see them battling for the 1 spot available.
From what i have read james hurst if not injured would have been the 7th best tackle in the draft. He is also according to my bud whos a bit of a guru better then wagner. He said without doubt its the biggest steal out of all the udfa.
Im feeling much better
Someway somehow Ozzie will stash him for next year if need be.
Purifoy, Roberon, reynolds, Davis still out there
Purifoy went to Denver
Cody Hoffman, WR, BYU ... come to Baltimore.
Purifoy would be a great pickup. Has the versatility we covet and I think would have a good shot at making the roster.
Why did this guy go undrafted? Any known negatives? There was a time when he was a top-50 talent.
I'm pretty sure the "type" is tough, smart, aggressive.
Evidently that "type" didn't exist in this year's draft or they would have taken one. Oh well.
What happened to definitely taking a WR lol
Yeah, the end of season presser...oz & john agree on the type of wr the ravens need. I never would have guessed it was a 5'8" 35 year old.
I don't know about that. Purifoy and Roberson from Florida haven't been picked yet, we could take one if them udfa
The FO will be working the phones lining up udfas. Those will be far more sexy and interesting to discover. That may be where we see the WRs, OTs, RBs. No expectations on my part, my hopes have been crushed with this draft. ![]()
However, I do know Ozzie drafted some good talent so all is not lost. ![]()
Go Ravens
Alright, another home run pick. Can someone say Bradyesque?
4.0 GPA but did he ace the wonderlic??? If not, we can't use him. lol
we may not have Ngata or Canty after this year... so by everyones suggestion lets draft a wr or rb lineman early forget our defense of the future and build on one of youngest part of our team.
I was thinking the very same about Ngata and Canty for next year but you can add Cody to this year. Unless he's converted 30lbs of "fleshy mid section" to muscle magically in the past few weeks....he's gone by Sept.
Thanks for making spew pop tart on the tablet screen, but I agree with the IR lol
It's been a rough draft for some. My gallows humor gets me through. ![]()
Not the draft I was expecting, but Oz knows what he's doing.
Go Ravens, kick buuuuuuuuuutttttttttt lol
Sometimes you have to make not so sexy picks in order to make the sexy picks sexy.
When was the last time we had a stud blocking @ TE? He's gonna improve our passing game and our rushing attack. We need that with all the pass rushers we have in the AFC North, with all the pass rushers we're gonna face on our way to the superbowl.
I know you are right and I really don't mean to second-guess Ozzie, but we all like a little sexy now and then. This draft is totally void of Raven sexy. Buuuuuutttt, we added some good candidates for a year on IR. ![]()
A few teams drafted very well...Pittsburgh, Bengals, and the Browns drafted really well...6 top notch players. Ravens did well also, we got a blocking TE. ![]()
hated this pick til I spoke with my son and he said we are going to be very happy with this guy . hes not fast but hes a good player and a huge red zone target so imma cut ozzie some slack today lol. .I think Jensen might be the answer at rt this year because if wagner is the answer then we are asking the wrong question. today we get our rt . thinking positive .
This guy runs a 4.8 40 but we can cut that in half by only using him inside the 20. ![]()
No more WRs unless we get someone who'd improve our stocks from pretty much their rookie season falls. We have enough projects and we can go after a WR1 next year (optimistic I know, but dreams are free).
All the talented WRs came out this year, very slimpickins next year.
Excited for this 4th round, a lot of goods cbs and wrs have fallen
This being the vent thread ----->> I'm sure your hopes and dreams will be crushed in the next few hours. I'm thinking long snapper at 134 and holder at 138.
Follow that up with a really good backup QB and throwaway pick at 194....The Draft is Dead, Long Live the Draft. ![]()
Wish I had found this thread an hour ago. lol It's good to have a place to go to vent. ![]()
I think I trust the Ravens' board a little more than Drafttek's.
So you agree Crockett was BPA at 99.
Zero help for an offense ....
I dislike disagreeing with Ozzie's picks but my expectations for this draft have been soundly crushed. Star quality players here, there, & everywhere and we are re-drafting 2013. We draft Crockett at 99 and I find him on Drafttek's board at 291. I'm thinking we could have gotten him next Tuesday.
Oh well (deep sigh); agreed with your post that we're not exactly killing it this year.
Tiny Tim Jernigan better be a star for us: 2TEs, 3RBs, 4WRs were draft right after him and already our own site reports "he's fleshy in the mid section," and failed a drug test because he was over-hydrating after crash dieting to make weight for the Combine. Don't know about the rest of you but I'm pumped about this guy (he says with tongue-in-cheek).
Go Ravens
Am I missing something or did Marlon Brown, Steve Smith, Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith all just tear their ACLs or something?
Under Harbaugh, it takes players time to develop. In 2 yrs, when Smith & Jones have moved on, you'll be saying, "We're missing something, what happened to our wide receivers"?
Eric D says he's comfortable with the quality of the O-line players they drafted last year in rounds 5 & 6 but they feel the need for a do-over of last years first 3 picks. Is that logic/explanation, John, supposed to calm the bewildered fan? Hmm.
Very, very disheartening to pass on the best class of wide receivers to enter the draft in years. And picking the 25th best WR with pick 134 doesn't count.
Looks like Justin Tucker will have a real shot at being the most valuable Raven next season will all his FGs.
