  1. I don't think Perriman will get a lot of action in his rookie year.

He has a lot to develop.

SSS, Brown, Aiken, and Camp are going to have to do the heavy lifting this year.

Perriman will just play a couple "nine" routes here and there.

Harbaugh and the FO, I think, would strongly disagree with your assessment of Perriman, Brown & Aiken. They were comfortable enough with Perriman's abilities to draft him in the 1st round and he & Mad Maxx will start day 1 and grow into the job.

  2. Looking at the number of WRs we carry this year assuming 25 offensive players:

    QBs = 2, Flacco, Schaub

    RB/FB = 4, Forsett, LT, Allen, Juice

    O-line = 9

TE = 4, Williams, Gilmore, Supernaw, Boyle, with Pitta IR'd for the year.

WR = 6. With the knowledge SSS won't be back in 2016.

  3. By the 10th week of the season, WR Perriman, TE Williams, DT Davis, ER Smith & RB Allen will be making significant contributions. The other 4 draft picks are on a 2yr developmental program. I can't complain with the job Ozzie and his staff did.

Ravens are a MUCH STRONGER TEAM after the draft.

  4. were both glass half full types of fans, but this is one ill just have to say that i have zero hopes on, and i think the ravens and pitta know this as well and they are just agreeing to brush it under the rug because of contractual things

Ravens gain or lose nothing financially this year by releasing Pitta so he'll remain a Raven, perhaps spending the year on IR. Whether he plays or not this year is up in the air, and many think it would be best for him to take the year off. Really, the 2016 season is make or break for Dennis' career and the Ravens financially.

  5. Here goes that word again "potential". I really hope this guy works out, but given the Ravens awful history of drafting WRs, and his penchant for pass dropping, it is a huge risk. Besides, we didn't lose to the Patriots by not having a WR. We lost because our secondary stinks. Then we see the available players, and lo and behold, the Ravens don't take the CB that they need. Dallas took him with the next pick. Two picks later the best S on the board is gone. Sorry to disagree but I think we missed the boat again.

I would not have given you all those negs but you do realize the CB and S you're talking about also have "potential" to be shutdowns or busts. Yes, those positions are positions of need but it's only day 1 and another position of need is now filled.

Looking forward to day 2 and 3.

  6. To everyone concerned about the running game, it's as Harbs says.  He sets the tone.  We will retain our involvement in the run because Harbs has mandated it.

Just so there is no confusion about our "run first offense," the Ravens passed the ball 55% of the time and, surprisingly enough, ran it 45% of the 1,002 regular season offensive plays.

  7. It's too early to speculate but if there is a falloff in the offense I expect it will be because of the loss of Torrey and Owen NOT the addition of Marc. I'm not as high on our WR corps as some on this forum are but I'm very interested in watching it play out.

    Hoping for a strong draft.

  8. Yes, she's the leader. It's not like the schedules are preset years in advance or anything. Oh wait...

The bad thing about playing the west teams is that very few of them are located in the east so we log all that travel time. Funny the ways in which the league conspires against us.  :)

  9. That's what I meant by we're set ... 6-2 and I'd be estatic

4-4 would be ehh.. Hope for 10-6 and a wild card prolly

I was with you right up to the "wild card prolly." I'm tired of 2nd; I want the div title and the bye.

  10. That first four game stretch stole my little bit of optimism.Denver and Pittsburgh are both losses IMO.That Cin game could be a loss too.The last four games also look tough.

I don't think the AFCN will send 3 teams to the playoffs next year, but the division title and a wild card spot are within the Ravens reach. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati have tough schedules also.

  11. Who cares. Last time i checked championships are won in February

Was thinking the same thing -- who cares? Underwear Olympics are over, now the season "played on paper" goes on for 6 months. Mindless speculation that means nothing until they hit the field. How many on this site picked the Ravens to finish 3rd in the division last year? I know I didn't, and I sure as <devil's residence> didn't pick Pittsburgh to win it.
