Ravens never lose in all black.
Hope that's what they wear when they play Seattle this year.
A 2 PT conversion should be WAY more difficult than a PAT. The premium on that additional point should be rich ... so that it is only there when you are desperate. I do not want to see rules put in place that motivate teams to routinely go for 2 because it has been made too easy.
Gotta say I agree. The Philadelphia option (move the spot to the 1 yd line) is going the wrong way. If, as some think, the owners will move the PAT back even farther next season, then they should also move the 2-pt conversion spot to the 3 yard line, not the 1.
Score more touchdowns & kick fewer field goals. More touchdowns leads to more 2-pt conversions which leads to a less used JTuck. If they move the PAT back farther it will lead to more 2-pt attempts.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders writes, "The 2-point conversion is converted roughly half the time, so the numbers suggest that the smart head coaches will begin to go for 2 after nearly every touchdown except in certain late-game situations, an XP try being worth roughly 0.91 points and a 2-point try being worth roughly 0.99 points." It will be interesting to see if Tuck gets less work this season; after all, Ozzie anticipated this change when he drafted all the 6'4"~6'6" pass catchers.
I like it. I really wanted a big size like his on our team.
I like it also and really can't see 6th rounder, 6'6", Darren Waller with 4.45 speed going to the PS and the 47th best UdFA, 5'8", De'Andre Carter with 4.45 speed making the 53 as some forward thinkers are projecting. But we have until the end of August to speculate, ya never know what's going to happen between now and then.
Webb got crushed by Martavius Bryant. He had his way with him and it is a problem.
Thus the drafting of Tray Walker; hopefully he's be able to step into a starting role in a year or two.
It's springtime in the NFL and hope for WRs springs eternal. This year we are likely to have six decent ones on the 53. Sure hope Marc puts them in favorable situations to succeed. Should be fun watching.
If Perriman has 50 catches, 800 yds, and 5 TDs I'll say he had a very successful rookie season. Starter on day 1. Predicting "the best," "the most," is a fools errand.
Levine to safety? Now this speaks volumes. Even though the Ravens won't own up to it, Elam was a big mistake. He is a hole in the defense wherever he plays. Tired of the lame excuses being made for him. This year should be his last chance. He has done nothing since being drafted a #1. Whomever thought this guy was worthy of a first round pick should be fired.
That would be the Raven's GM....something Oz, Ozzie something. Probably a new guy, don't really know. But you're correct, he should be fired. Good suggestion. ![]()
The picture of Flacco along with the quote "getting hyped" is probably the funniest thing I'll see today. Way to look hyped Joe.
He sure looks "fired up." lol
With all the young quick receivers on the squad now I don't see Camp making the team.......... seeya!
I was thinking Steve Smith, Jah Reid and Chris Canty could be on their way out. Admittedly, two quality vets but we have a lot of quality young players. Lots of time to speculate. ![]()
.... Also won't call NE a gift win. Garoppolo just has to be a decent game manager and I think they could get by. Plenty of talent on that roster.
I should have stopped with Pittsburgh was handed a gift. Certainly nothing is assured. Sure would like to see January football at the bank this season.
Ravens finished 3rd in the division the past 2yrs. Until we actually win it on the field it's Pittsburgh's and Cincinnati's to lose. And in a tough division where every game matters, Pittsburgh was just handed a gift win.
I had DePriest, Perry, Wilson, Clausell, and Worthy making the team....
WOW ... Would like to know who your bubble players are that are not going to make the team.
Only spots I see open are on the PS but I'll admit....one UDFA will probably make the 53.
Waller was picked in 6th round but yes - unless he completely bombs a training camp, I don't see him anywhere but on 53.
My bad...getting my Wallers and Walkers confused. ![]()
The most recent article said Engram spent a lot of time working with Waller so far in rookie mini camps. I feel like I read somewhere that Engram really wanted Waller to be drafted by us so this might be a good sign. Could be that Bobby sees the potential and is determined to make sure Waller makes the 53 man roster. Either way, Engram's been great for the team so far so I'm excited about this
Agree. It would be extreeeeemely unlikely for the Ravens to cut a 4th round pick. Waller has so much going for him (size/speed, including no pressure to be an immediate contributor) as a situational receiver that all he really needs to do is stay healthy, get better, show sustained improvement. This draft class of receivers, both wide & tight, sets us up nicely for years to come.
Tray is certainly needed; given his size & 4.5 speed, in a year or 2 perhaps he could team with Jimmy to give us two formidable corners. He'll likely get little playing time this year but he will get some. If he can make us forget we didn't draft Marcus Peters all the better. Here's hoping he shows his best.
Im waiting to read something about Buck Allen!
You know everything about Allen that's pertinent. The real stories for RBs don't happen until they put on the pads. Now it's only walkthroughs and touch football.
Article on PFT about the joint practice has the haters in both cities all sexcited and posting up a negative storm about the city, players, distance from the beach, race riots, everything you can imagine. smh and lol , it's funny & pathetic.
Not a huge fan of joint practices it was nothing but trouble(injuries) last year against the 9ers
Is that what happened yesterday with Dante Fowler and Julian Wilson ... joint practices?
ouch
Aren't you the debbi downer. Your negative posts change nothing Sami. Breshad is the Ravens 1st round draft pick and will be an asset. You can hate Perriman all you like but all it does is make you look foolish.
I had thought joint practices with the Redskins but Eagles works also. I like the idea and if Harbs thinks it benefits the team, I'm all the more for it.
On KR I'll take anyone that does not leave the ball short of the 20. So often last season Joe was 1st and 86.
Place Pitta on the PUP list for the entire year and start anew next season. Give his hip time to fully mend. jmo

I think the 4 WRs from last year's roster plus Perriman & Waller. Anyone else that shines in camp goes on PS. Sure don't know what all the hype about Carter is. Fiftieth best WR in this draft class with same 40 speed as Camp & many others. You mentioned Aiken catches everything...Brown also caught everything thrown to him the 2nd half of the season. I have great hopes for these guys; TEs included.
