  1. They may be regular season games now but teams are still trying to find their way as to players and plays that work in the real world. I say again, the first 4 games are the real dress-rehearsals. We all need to chillax with the Ferrari talk, Clifton Brown, and let the coaches develop the team for the long-haul. No need to panic.

  2. First real game of the season and it's unfair to expect the team to be operating at peak efficiency. Ravens were in it and had their chances but a win on the road, against the contender-Broncos was a long-shot. Two weeks to workout the kinks and an Oakland game in the middle before divisional games begin.

High praise and compliments to Tyrod Taylor; he's living his dream.

Tsizz is a terrible loss ... end of story.

"Analysis of roster data shows Ravens are among slowest and heaviest teams in the NFL."

Speed wins but so does talent. Ravens are not old-slow but just don't have many burners.

The Ravens to me look like a 5-3 and 5-3 club with a real possibility of squeezing out 1 more win .... even tho analysts think they are slow.

  4. It's a nice statistic but I don't honestly care; as long as the 53 players are our best players then that is what matters to me.

And I wholeheartedly agree with you, but the streak did tell promising UDFAs that had options with other teams that Baltimore was a team where they had a real chance of making the 53 and not be just another ignored camp-body.

  5. Kick returners are of little need in today's NFL. Most KOs sail deep into the end zone or out of it. Very few of Justin Tucker's kicks get returned. Jacoby lost the coaches favor by making poor decisions and returning kickoffs to the 12 or 17 yard line instead of taking a knee. Sure, a KO returned for a TD is exciting but devoting a roster spot with that expectation is not realistic. What we really need is a guy to make good decisions and, more often than not, take a knee ... no need to keep Asa.

  6. Ninety players to 75 to 53 and back to 63 players all in 7 days. I'm sure there's very valid reasons the NFL makes teams go through all this tomfoolery (mostly keeping paper pushers fully employed I suppose) but only the 53 number is important, and even then, only 46 get to dress on game-day. Am I the only one that thinks all this is crazy....or what? lol

  7. Except for a series or 2 on offense and the same on defense, the Ravens pre-season has been very lackluster. Crocket Gilmore stepped up at TE but no one else has stepped up and made a statement at RB or WR or O-line. Same with the D-line, EdgeRushers, CBs and Safeties ... No one has stood out. It feels like // seems like people have jobs and the backups know their place.

One of the site writers I thought stated it perfectly ... the questions that existed at the beginning of the TC still remain unanswered at the end of TC. The final preseason game will tell us nothing, so the first 4 regular season games will set the tone and reveal the identity of the 2015 Raven team. Can to offense score in the red zone or will we leave points on the field and settle for FGs? Do we have a winning short-yardage offense? Is it pass oriented or run oriented? Other than SSS, is there a WR we can depend on to make a play and move the chains? Who is the PR/KR guy? Can the D-line stop the run? Can the backend defend against the pass? All questions, imo, that are unanswered and won't really be answered until the end of the first quarter of the season. Again, no one stood up or stood out.

On paper I think we look good for the season, but "good" still leaves a lot of distance to great. To win our division, our conference and compete for the SB, we need to significantly improve on "good".

  8. Again, I say, the Harbaugh and Ravens are settling for the easy FGs instead of fighting for the hard TDs. When they should have been up 28-0 or better they are trotting Tucker out 3 times and leaving points on the field. The offense needs the work on short yardage plays--Tuck can kick an extra point but the offense can't score from the two yard line.
