  1. Good post. Page # and source are also helpful.
  2. I know it's not instant gratification but I'm hoping the Ravens found a gem in Rashaan Melvin. Prior to arriving in Baltimore, he never saw the field but acclimated well until getting killed vs the Pats. Second guy on the development train is 4th round pick Tray Walker. Learning the CB position in the NFL takes lots of time but both Melvin and Walker have good size. They just need time and opportunity to develop. Admittedly, neither are early round picks (b4 we selected Perriman, I was hoping for Marcus Peters) but we should be okay at CB with who we have. I expect another ER to be added in next year's draft. Same reasoning can be applied to Zuttah also with Urschel &/or Jensen. All in all, I think Ozzie has this roster under control.
  3. Butler, in response to a beat reporter's question, said he preferred playing from the slot. The coaches know this, he said it in a Raven presser a while back.
  4. Sorry to see any players injured but especially so when the player is a Raven. Come back recovered as soon as you can.
  5. Moderator ... anyone ... know if the NFL Network publishes a schedule of who they will be covering in their "Inside Training Camp" series. Bengals are on now.....would love to know when the Ravens will be.
  6. Last year's run/pass percentages worked well for us. I expect this year they will remain roughly the same at 45/55.
  7. Another successful day........No significant injuries reported.
  8. I'm interested in the D-line battles. Locks include Brandon Williams, Tim Jernigan & Carl Davis. Is Chris Canty on the bubble? Returning from last year injury are KLM & Brent Urban; can they make the team? Returning are Lawrence Guy, DeAngelo Tyson & Christo Bilukidi who were serviceable but can they make the grade with the additional comp? Others competing include Zach Thompson and Casey Walker. Eleven guys fighting for x-number of spots. Linebacker also has Art Brown, Zach Orr, Albert McClellan, & Steve Means looking for spots. Those are the positions I'm interested in.
  9. If Asa does not make it as a CB he likely won't make it.
  10. I didn't throw that tidbit out as a woe is me kinda thing. We were talking receivers and I thought of it. The biggest regret in the past 10 yrs is Cleveland's (and the Redskins) passing on Aaron Rodgers. After passing on him Cleveland vowed to take a QB in the 1st round every other year thereafter and they are still going strong with that conviction. lol
  11. A sad, sorry, unfortunate story many of you guys may know but forgot...Antonio Brown was last year's top WR. In 2010 Pittsburgh selected him in the 6th round immediately after the Ravens select R A M O N Harewood with the 195th pick. That's .
  12. We need a good decision-maker fielding kick-offs this year. Too often last year Joe started behind the 20 b/c the returner didn't take the touchback.
  13. Sing Janet Jett's Sunday Night Football // I hate Myself for Loving You. Now that says Baltimore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq3XxO_oK7U
  14. Kick both their butts and tell you later.
  15. Just yesterday I learned of Matt Stevens; I'm now stalking him. No, that's not the right word.....Following him.
  16. There is more to the conditioning test than running suicide sprints. As you know, there are 6 timed segments, fail any one of the segments and you fail the conditioning test. And since he passed it the day after failing it, it's not like he had to workout for a month to get in shape.
  17. I thought Perriman was going deep, Brown/Aiken intermediate, SSS slot. But also, there nothing that says SSS in the slot can't go deep now and then is there? We don't run a deep route every play.
  18. I know, It was just a feel-good phrase. How about an answer to my other question ?
  19. I tried giving you multiple up arrows but there seems to be a kink in the system.
  20. That's the important part of the post. Would love to see Baltimore's version of the greatest show on turf.
  21. I'm going to ask.... could you guys see SSS as our slot guy? Sure hands, short routes, good for a guy his age. Then, by my thinking, we have Perriman, Brown/Aiken, SSS, TE formations filling all areas of the field.
  22. This is what Wikipedia has to say about Rashaad... "Melvin made his debut on December 14, 2014. In his first game, he was a pleasant surprise on the Ravens' hobbled secondary, recording 5 tackles and 1 pass deflected. In his first start the next week, Melvin continued his success, recording 8 tackles and a forced fumble. In week 17 against the Cleveland Browns, Melvin had 4 tackles. However, this success would not carry into the playoffs. On January 10, 2015 against the New England Patriots, Melvin allowed 12 catches on 15 passes thrown his way, giving up 224 yards and two touchdowns, according to Pro Football Focus." As 2nd year CB, he needs as much TLC from us as we gave Jimmy Smith in his first 2 years. The kid has potential.
  23. The Ravens Conditioning Test is a Bear Ryan Mink posted this a couple year's ago after rookie Courtney Upshaw failed his first attempt. It explains what's involved in the test. http://blogs.baltimo...test-is-a-bear/

  25. Coach Engram and Breshad put a couple crisp branches on that route tree he'll be unstoppable.
