With the pick at #16 it seems that the Ravens will go CB or Edge rusher and there seems to be 2-3 at each position that cold warrant the pick there. The one wild card is RB - Dalvin Cook. Is he the playmaker, the Ravens need to add to the offense? It seems that if we don't go CB in 1st there should be a very good one in 2nd round. Even if we sign Claiborne, I can't see the Rravens not getting a CB in either the 1st or 2nd or 3rd round. Also since we only have 8 picks , I can see Ozzie trading back a few spots 17-22 range in order to get another pick or 2. With 4 picks in first 99 drafted the Ravens need to get 3 solid starters out of those picks. Hopefully one becomes All-pro. Though it may take a few weeks I see the Ravens adding a veteran OL and ILB to fill out those twos positions. Not sure who we add to our WR group. Anyone have any thoughts?
Round 1. Takkirst McKinney- OLB UCLA
or Solomon Thomas- OLB- Stanford
Round 2. De De Westbrook- WR- Okla
Round 3. Fabian Moreau- CB- UCLA
Round 3. Zach Barner- T /G - USC
Round 4. Devonte Fields - OLB Louisville
Round 5. Robert Davis - WR- Ga State
or KD Cannon - WR - Baylor
Round 6. Kareem Are- G- FSU
Provided we land Claiborne if not then we go after TreDavious White -CB LSU in the 2nd round and Ju Ju Smith- Schuster- WR - USC in the 3rddude if solomon thomas was still on the board at 16, our draft decision would take all of 15 seconds. I feel like there is almost no chance
Thomas still being there depends on the run on RBs and QBs.... I agree that it would take a little luck for us but if there are several QBs taken in the top 15 (Trubinsky, Kizer, Mahomes and Watson) and a couple of RBs (Fournette - Cook and possibly McCaffery) there is a chance that Thomas is still around. Garett going # 1, and 5 more DBs will probably be taken in the top 15 (Adams, Hooker, Lattimore Humphery and Peppers) - I am betting at least 2 and possibly 3 WRs can go in the top 15 (Mike Williams, Corey Davis and John Ross- with Ross being the wild care)
but if there is that kind of run on QBs that is already 16 players that I named who have a chance to go in the top 15. (with McCaffery and John Ross being wild cards). I didn't even mention Hasson Reddick, Jonathen Alen, Barnett and Rueben Foster - all of which some pundits are projecting to go in the top 15.
I think there is a chance that SF jumps at Thomas 2nd unless they do not get their QB. Then Jax could take him at 4th but they have already signed Calais Campbell... and spent a lot on that Defense. The next teams that may take him then would be the Bengals at 9 (but they should be after OL Ramcyzk out of Wisconsin) and then the Saints at 11. and they could take him but most mock drafts have them connected to a CB.
that would most likely then leave Thomas to us at 16. Yes it would be a fall and yes it would take a lot for the lottery pick to come to us but with the depth and direction of this years class... I wouldn't rule it out just yet.
and if he does go before us. That still leaves us some very good options as I listed nearly 20 players who are certainly top 15 worthy.
Lets hope that there is a run on QBs and RBs

good to have the big guy around for 5 more years. Sheshhhh.... that is a lot of guaranteed money however! You earned BW. God Bless
Let's go Judon, Z Smith, Correa and Kaufusi!
I think Judon has what it takes to step up. I also think that Kafusi will be like having an extra high draft pick this year. I am not as optimistic about KC and / or ZSmith. - Hope they both prove me wrong and come in and light it up!
I for one am sorry to see Elvis go. Not often you find a player with his character, ability and leadership skills. Doom you will be missed. Best of luck- God Bless.
Seems like a lot of bleeding in the FA period and the off season so far. We have a ton of holes (more then I can remember seeing us have in a long time). Zach Orr, Doom, Wagner, and SSS (retired). and that is just the start of this).
I hope we make some moves to build our team and not just band-aids. We are leaking blood and we are going to need a serious infusion here soon.
Orr, Doom, Wagner, BW,Juice, SSS-Sharece- that impacts nearly every level of our team -
We need some help and while I am thankful for a great draft class coming up. I am also aware that we will need more then what we will get in the draft.
We need an OL, OLB, ILB, CB, WR, FS, RB and possibly DL help. - TBH we probably need more then one CB and more then one WR... that puts us at 9 positions needed with 7 draft picks.... even if we hit a home run in the draft... finding more then 4 immediate starters is just not realistic.
I hope we make some legit moves in FA... Torrey would be nice but he is truly a Band-Aid not a fix! C'mon Ozzie lets get this going.... I seeing you clear money...
Now lets invest in some young impact players!
The #Lions and OT Ricky Wagner have agreed in principle on a contract, source said. It will eclipse $9M per year, setting a new market.
He GONE!we will surely get a 3rd round pick for that then... gotta be
yep
Probably not at the money he is looking for. Pierce will fill in nicely.
Pierce, Willie Henry and Carl Davis. I'm not that worried about the DT position at all, really the more I think about it.
Timmy Jernigan also - With Kafusi, Urban, and possible L Guy on the outside.
Zach Brown coming to Baltimore to play beside CJ???? It sucks losing a chance at Marshall and Garcon... makes re-signing Mike Wallace more imminent. Wagner is gone... wonder if a deal to get Kevin Zietler could be realistic... having Zietler and Yanda at Gs would allow us to push Alex Lewis out to T- With Ronnie Stanley manning the other T that would be a pretty sick OL
Mallet may also be gone... what Dak did last year has a lot of teams second guessing paying big money to back ups. (I wouldn't mind seeing Mallet return but you never know)
We need to let Webb go... There are plenty of quality safeties in the draft (No less then 5 legit prospects in the first 3 rounds) and we can pick up another veteran S for fairly cheap (who should play equally as well as webb)
I do not see us cutting doom but stretching his contract out over a longer incentive heavy contract would be smart... we need pass rushers.
Finally... we have to cut Pitta... even if we bring him back later for less. He is set to make more then Ben Watson and our other (good young TEs) combined. Pitta is not worth that... especially when we have Watson and all the young TEs on contract.
Arrington should go... and I would imagine that we will lose BW, RW, and Juice...
I think Kamar will probably be gone as well
I really believe that Zuttah will also be let go... clearing even more space.
Finally... Not sure what we are doing with Buck Allen and Talifero... but with West and Dixon seeming to be secure and the plans we have to add a speed back... I really don't see us keep both of them.
the first of many
We just cut KLewis and SWright so we should have cleared a little more cap room getting ready for Friday... (probably the first of several to come)
Wish we would cut Pitta. Huge cap number and it would keep joe from being captain checkdown quite as much. With pitta on the field he's much faster to just dump it off instead of reading through his progressions
Agreed- Even if we re-sign him later - I think he needs to be a post June 1 cut. Pitta is not that much better then Watson (I don't think he is better at all) or some of the other young TEs that we have but will make just about more of them all combined.
All three are likely gone, at least we'll get decent compensatory picks for them next year.
I agree and if they do this team will be LUCKY to finish 8-8..
I love getting the comp picks but if we keeping pushing our talent down the road... we also push our chances of winning - down the road. I would love to see us trade some of these guys and get some extra picks now for them (Webb, Kamar, Pitta, Zuttah and Jensen) are all guys that I think we can get a late round draft pick for this year and in a talent rich draft.... why not get something for some of these guys who really are expendable to us moving forward.
It looks like Juice is gone. Feeling like Wagner will be gone and while I think there is still a chance that we bring BW back... feeling like that window of opportunity is closing rapidly. Sharece will be gone and Kamar will be gone. I thing Pitta is a June 1st cut (with the hopes of bringing him back for less $) and I believe that Zuttah will be released. (possibly even Webb and Dumervil).
I think we will retain Doom... but that should clear up a lot of money to bring in a WR and a CB (possibly even an ILB or a C and / or maybe a S)
If we lose 5 potential starters and bring in three that still leaves us with two comp picks moving forward right now. Or we simply trade Webb, Zuttah, or Pitta and we bring those picks in now (in a very talent heavy draft) rather then delaying them for down the road). I am hoping that we pull off a trade quickly and get those picks now.... there is a ton of talent in this draft!
I am feeling like John Litna is pushing Juice out of town. He wants more then the top FBs are paid for his client and I believe that they are not realizing that Juice is more valued here then most places. Yes he may got Tennessee or to another team and get more $ but will be one or two years and done - his career will be all but over. If he stays in BMORE he may make a little less but his value will increase over the next 2-4 years here. Litna is the same knucklehead that helped to create the Joe Flacco contract debacle. Ozzie and company should ban Litna from the Castle... and refuse to do business with him.
Torrey is a nice insurance policy if we cant reduce Wallaces cap hit by extending him. They really are about the same WR except Wallace has learned to be a little more versatile over the years. But both can stretch the field and with Perriman opposite them... can be a handful. We need someone to work the slot however and I am just not convinced that Camp can stay healthy enough or even take that next step. wouldn't mind adding a Ju Ju Smith Schuster with one of those 3rd round picks or picking up a (Garcon or Brandon Marshall)... they would really compliment The speed we can put on the outside.
Again... why could Powers be so successful in Arizona but struggle so much in BMORE. This is the M.O. for DBs in Dean Pees defense... and unless you are a super star like Weddle this seems to hold true.
Will Hill... great in NY ... inconsistent at best in BMROE
D Stewart... Great in Denver (since leaving) ran out of BMORE
J. Ihedigbo... Great in Detroit... (since leaving) ran out of BMORE
B. Pollard... Great in Tennessee struggled at best under Pees.
W Davis ... played very well in Miami... cant make it under Pees system
J. Powers... played very well in Arizona... cant make it in BMORE
Sharece Wright...
the list goes on and on... when are we going to figure out the we could have Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Weddle and Landon Collins back there and our DBs will struggle bc of Pees scheme.
I really believe that the only reason the DBs were better last year is bc of the presence of Leslie Fraiser. Now that he is gone ... I am really concerned. I think we will continue to struggle to stop the pass and Pees will continue to have excuses. We will bend but not break (until the 4th quarter) and then we will break losing more and more heartbreakers... and Pees will say that it is bc we drafted a bunch of young DBs who are learning the system.
When he had old veterans like ; Ed Reed, Pollard, DStewart, Ihedigbo and others... he said they were too old and we needed an influx of talent. NO WE NEED A NEW DC. that is where the talent is needed the most.
With that said... we may as well off load Powers or any DB that is not on a rookie contract (not named weddle or jimmy) bc they will all under perform... in a system that has never had success in the defensive backfield.
While John Ross's 40 time is great.... We already have speed. We need that sure handed - great route running WR who can move the chains and we need a fast twitch shifty type of slot WR (that we hoped Campanaro or Reynolds would be).
In other words.
Brandon Marshall, Perriman, Wallace, Chris Moore and Ju Ju Schuster (along with maybe Campanaro) should be our WR corps this coming year (or something like that)
Brad Kaaya -2nd Round
Look what the Patriots did with Jimmy G ... the Ravens need to follow suit as Flacco is no spring chicken. Why not start grooming a guy now? Don't talk to me about other needs, without a reliable backup your season is over when the starter goes down. I'd rather not wait until round 7 to draft ball state college of technology keith WenningI hate to break it to you but we desperately NEED another WR on the roster, and a pass rusher and a CB or two. Those need to come first, particularly the latter two. I don't think I need to bring up the 2014 season where we kept rotating cornerbacks day in and day out and eventually that did us in during the divisional round of the playoffs.
I agree and maybe even two more WRs... I think we sing Marshal or Garcon and still draft a 3rd round WR - to go along with Wallace, Perriman and Moore.
If we walked out of FA with Mangold, Marshall and Prince Anukamara - I would feel like the off season was a smashing success (regardless of who we lost)
I like Marshall better then Garcon. I think he is more of the protypical Ravens move. Mason, Boldin, SSS these were splash guys at the end of their careers who made a great impact for us. I see Marshall more along the same lines that Garcon and would rather see us land him but I also like Garcon. Just think Marshall is that more sure handed, chain moving WR that we are looking for.

Should be if Dean Pees doesn't find a way to make even this defense look soft????
