  1. Vick is not the type of QB to fit the Ravens current offense....if he were then we would have simply kept Tyrod! We are looking for a west coast style pocket passer. Schaub will fit that much better. Schaub has been out of football (inj) and relegated to getting little reps when he was back. WIth that being said... he has a lot of rust that he needs to work off, but he does have the tools and he does have the experience and he ran the same style of offense in the past (pretty effectively). He did have weapons (Andre Johnson, Jacoby, Owen Daniels, Arian Foster, etc.) but remember that we are asking him to be ready to step in IF needed. He has time to get the rust off and when he does... I think he will not only fit out system well but be a very capable back up- who could step in and run the offense if needed! We still have time-no need to push the panic button on the back up QB just yet~!
  2. Would love to see flacco take the next step this year... with all of the offensive weapons that he has (and OLINE). Schaub will be fine....needs some time to get the rust off! He knows what it takes, has the ability and has the experience. Schuab will be a quality back up (just needs more reps)!
  3. Also more pressure on the QB reduces a QB's time to pick us apart. We need get back to generating a ton of pressure and collapsing the pocket (quickly). If we can generate more pressure... our DB's will benefit from a QB under duress... that is when the picks come and the passing yards drop!
  4. I love the fact that we are two deep at every position. (our DL if healthy can play a full rotation and not miss much-keep fresh bodies in is a big deal). Our OLB... Suggs, Dummm, Courtney, ZSmith -that is a ton of depth and talent-ILB CJ and DSmith are probowl caliber... ABrown waiting his turn! (our CBs Jimmy and Webb are high level... added KArrington, CVaughn and TWalker. We have Asa back healthy and Melvin another year comfortable. Our Safties.... With WIll Hill, KLewis, Elam, Brooks and Perry.... we cannot ask for a more talented and deep defense
  5. Good to hear. I am glad that he is growing - lets hope it translates on the field! If he steps up.... that can really be a positive step for our defense moving forward!
  6. I don't feel like Welker would be a big help to us? I also don't know how well is wife would be received in BMORE! While I like the sounds of another veteran WR, I don't feel like Welker is that guy! (I like a veteran WR for 1 reason... if SSS or Perriman were to go down with an injury... we would all of a sudden be very thin from a production stand point at wr) I know Perriman has not produced much yet but his speed and ability will at least take pressure off of other WR and open up the field) SO if we lost either SSS or Perriman... I would be a little nervous... a solid veteran WR will be a great addition (just not welker)!
  7. Tagging Tucker makes sense...but I hope to re-sign KO before season starts. (I think that is the most prudent and most likely move) and will create our best chance to retain YANDA? (We will lose the RRice cap him next season and there is a good chance the SSS retires) We may re-structure flacco)... getting a long term deal done with KO may free up enough money to allow us to bring Yanda back too. (hoping for a hometown discount).
  8. I think that Yanda is a Raven for life but I also think that KO has more life left. I see us getting a hometown discount on YANDA and finding a way to sign both him and KO.... If we do not - I wouldn't be surprised if Yanda is the one gone- we have let a lot of Raven for life type players go at the end of their career (Ed Reed, Todd Heap, Kelly Greg, JJ, Ngata, Torrey) I can keep going.... I think the point is made. KO has more self-life left then Yanda and has not seemed to even reach his peak just yet.... I hope we can work something out to keep both but if Not.... I think KO stays????
  9. WOW.... impressive.... I didn't realize that TP was so talented! Good for you T Pryce.... keep it going!
  10. I forgot Cam Worthy but I really feel like Worthy will be further down the list and a likely PS candidate... again I hope he and others prove me wrong and excel... that means that we have a superstar we didn't know about but as of now... I am guess PS squad candidate!
  11. 1. SSS 2. BPerriman 3. Marlon 4. Kamar 5. Waller 6. Campanaro 7. DCarter 8. Butler 9 ARobinson (I think that Butler, Carter and Camp all are on the bubble and need to earn that # 6 spot over the other guy) IDK how Robinsons injury will impact him but he was already behind most so, I think his injury is more damaging to him than Camps is. BUt there is a ton of football to be played between now and the end of August.... there is room to move and who knows maybe we keep 7 (not likely) or we get a youngster like Carter on the PS for a season????? Will be interesting as we move forward!
  12. Hoping he and KLM can stay healthy. Both show a ton of promise and I would live to see them produce! Canty's career is winding down and with these two youngsters on the roster.... I like the potential... Just need to stay healthy now! Lots of prayer!
  13. If Brooks and Elam continue to progressively improve... (We know will hill can play) that is a good problem to have! Im pulling for him (both of them)!
  14. Canty should worry about getting healthy and getting on the field and producing more then about what changes the offense is going to make. If he does his job - the defense can make stops.... giving out offense more and more opportunities. I get what he is saying that we had some success last season but it wasn't perfect and we had a ton of inconsistency. Give Trestman a chance... Lets see what he can do... don't pigeon hole this guy into being a Kubiack clone! Harbs has a vision of what he wants (a balanced attack from a zone blocking scheme with a versatile passing game know for having a homerun potential). That has been the offenses MO since Harbs got here regardless of who the OC.... Lets give Trestman a chance within those guidelines to see if he can out produce Kubicak! With the talent we have and his resume.... I am excited... bc I think Trestman is going to do great things here!
  15. KO, Dsmith, Forsett are clearly under rated but I also think that Brandon Williams can go on that list as well!
  16. Canty needs to worry about the defense and let the offense worry about the offense.
  17. I see us bringing in another veteran WR at some point. We have a ton of talent currently at WR but one of our 2 starters is 36 and the other is a rookie. If one of those two would go down to an injury- it could be a serious blow to our offense (much like our CB situation last year). With $7.33 million in cap space... I really see us making a move to bring somebody in! I think that Marlon could step up in a situation. I think that Kamar could also but we are two deep everywhere this year... I just don't see Ozzie and company rolling the dice here! I think we bring in a veteran WR before camp starts!
  18. Good to hear that WHIII is stepping up his game and showing the leadership to take his game to the next level. he has that type of talent and ability ...now if his head is right too! Watchout... we may have the top safety in all of the land, once again!
  19. I really liked how hard he hit the hole last season. He seems to have good vision, good quickness and runs hard. His biggest knock is not having the speed to be a lead back- who knows maybe a few pounds here or there could put him over the top. I hope so! Cant have enough solid RB's!
  20. It really should NOT be that different! I know its another OC and I know that there are a lot of reasons to believe that this will look different but we have the same OL, the same QB, the same RB. TE will be improved, and WR looks virtually the same (even if the personal is different). I just see more depth this year, which should mean more consistency and more youth (which may mean more mistakes) But there is also another season of cohesion for many of the players which should mean more production! I like where the offense is, talent wise -I think it will be similar in production as last year (and that was just about good enough to get us to the super bowl!)
  21. I think that NGATA is going to regret his decision to leave (maybe not from a financial perspective but surely from a production perspective -as a player)! Wishing him well but really don't see any benefit for him other then $$$$$$
  22. I think that Joe will have a great season bc he has a long ball threat (Perriman), a sure handed WR (SSS), A great cast a TE which Joe likes (Pitta, Williams, Boyle and Gilmore), a long red zone target (in both Williams and Waller) and RB's who can catch the ball out of the backfield (Forsett, Buck, Juice). That don't even count contributors like Marlon or Kamar or Camp (if he can stay healthy). Joe has all the tools and a great OL in front of him. IF he simply improves and manage the pocket better and making better decisions under pressure... Nobody will question his status in this league!
  23. Timmy has a very high ceiling. He will do it differently then Ngata did but we can use someone to push the center of the pocket better then Ngata did. Timmy brings that. WHen he penetrates and collapses a pocket...the opposing QB cannot step up and avoid Dumervill and Suggs... THat means more sacks as a team. I am excited to see what Timmy and C.Davis can do in that capacity! I like the different element...plus we have Brandon Williams that is more suited to filling Ngatas role (as a gap plugging),run Stopping, block eating, immovable object in the middle of our defense!
  24. Cassius Vaughn is a solid singing. Remember we do not need him to come in and start. We need him to add reps and add an insurance policy. He is more then capable of that! Vaughn is more skilled then Melvin and Melvin came here and performed admirably for us in a tough situation last year! Adding Vaughn, Arrington, Asa, Melvin and Tray Walker, as depth behind Jimmy and Webb leaves us in a much better situation this year then last year...that is for sure! Good signing!
  25. WOW... I have to give Ozzie credit. He said that he was going to address the DB's this season like he did the OL last season.... So far he tendered Will Hill to another year, Added Kendrick Lewis, Added Kyle Arrington, added Cassius Vaughn, drafted Tray Walker, brought in UFA Nick Perry and that is all on top of getting Jimmy back healthy, Asa back healthy -Webby improving, and Melvin time to improve! That is literally taking out D backfield from a weakness to a strength in one off season. To make matters better He did the same thing at TE (all without taking a significant step backwards at any position) We improved at QB (depth) at RB (depth) at least broke even at (WR) and remains to be seen on the DL (but looks like if we can stay healthy there we could be better then last year)... ohhh yeah and even added another pass rusher to an already stout LB corps. Gotta love a FO that is committed to winning~!
