  1. If Marlon, Kamar and Givens are going to light it up... this is the week to step into the spotlight. A banged up Browns secondary and a team that will load the box to sale out at trying to stop Forsett... this should be a good week for them to shine. If they don't shine this week... it may not happen. Need some early success in the passing game in order to get the running game going later! Whos gonna shine?
  2. This is why the Browns are the Browns. Manziel played equally as well as McCown but Manziel is their future.... why in the world wouldn't they be playing him right now??? How could it ever be a good thing for the Browns if McCown out produces Manziel???? WIth decision making like that... I am glad we have them in our conference. SMH!
  3. When we have a rookie outplaying someone as talented as Timmy Jernigan... we have to consider ourselves pretty lucky! Good problem to have~!
  4. Monroe says the right things but he has to walk the walk not just talk the talk! Still waiting to see that!
  5. Golden Tate would be a nice addition this year but IDK if he is the long term solution... whereas someone like Alshon could be a fix for now and the future!
  6. Ohhhh Boy! Lets hope Givens is can step in bc those really are not good options!
  7. THe offense develops a little slower then the defense... that has always been the case... Trestman is a new coach and has added another new system. We new this wouldn't completely click from day 1. We should be excited that the team is putting up 20 and 30 points in most games this season. When the running game and the passing game both start to click we should see this offense look good. Part of that is getting healthy and getting the most out of the weapons that we can deploy. Remember that even with Kubiack... we had some horrible games offensively (and were inconsistent at best). Trestman has the offense producing points. Is there some inconsistency still? YES... is there times when we stall? YES but we have played some very good defenses in the first quarter of the season under a new coach and new system and minus some of our biggest weapons (and OL) - I think Trestman has this moving in the right direction!
  8. Browns will load the box. THis is the week for two TE sets. Again... we have talent at TE... we can give Joe an extra weapon... We can take some pressure off of our young WR's but occupying safeties. We can also add support in the run game and control the box. I like the offense the Trestman is putting together... but I also think we need to be adaptable and willing to showcase our strengths will reducing the impact of our weaknesses!
  9. McClellan is done. He will remain on the roster bc he can plan inside, outside and ST but... WIth Z playing well as a pass rusher and Upshaw able to set an edge. WIth ABrown on the inside... With Orr and co on ST... McClellan becomes very expendable. Especially with the addition of Babin! Love to see Z out producing Bud Dupree! Love it!
  10. Make the trade! Pull the trigger.... we need it for next year as much as this year too.
  11. Will Davis sowed up big time. Glad to have you aboard!
  12. Why can we not run at all before Kubiack arrived.... and then go from worst to first in rushing under Kubiack (in one season). Kubiack leaves -personal stays the same and all of a sudden we cannot run and need a new RB? WHAT? This is clearly scheme more then talent. Kubiack had the right scheme and the proof was in the results. Why isn't Harbs stepping in and saying we have the right personal (Proof is look at last season... they are the same people) and insisting that we implement some of this stuff that worked. He can still give trestman all the freedom that he wants but still demand production and when production is not happening then lets install what has been know to work! We don't need a new RB. FOrsett showed that he can play at a pro bowl level. WHat has changed? Scheme that's it! Play to our strengths!
  13. Camp needs to be more involved and his increased involvement will help SSS in two ways: 1. it will give the defense someone else to pay attention to allowing SSS more room to work. 2. It will ensure that SSS doesn't get over worked and hit that wall in the 2nd half of the season that he seemed to hit at the end of last year. SSS needs Camp to get more involved. Camp has the ability to be a match up problem for defenses and we need to beable to inject a little more of him into the lineup! SSS, The offense and the Ravens will benefit from it!
  14. Maxx and Boyle are more then capable. We just need to give them more opportunity.
  15. KO and a 6th round draft pick for Alshon. I love KO but we are going to lose him at the end of season and get nothing in return. We will have a full allotment of comp picks and will not miss a 5th or 6th rounder. I love KO and wish there was a way that we cold keep both him and Yanda but that doesn't seem possible. We have Urschel who played well at G last year and Jensen still as added depth. At the end of season Steve Smith will be retiring and we will need to make an investment in finding at least one more WR... this move would go a long way to addressing problems this year and possibly next year and down the road. Plus KO would be an attractive addition to any team building for the future. He has pro bowl potential and can protect a franchise QB... he is versatile and can play both G or T (he has the size also). He can be a road grader in the run game for their young RB draft pick in Jeremy Langford. This really could be a good move and a doable one! Both teams would win in this trade!
  16. Ben / Vick ... its the sqeelers... its anotnio brown and Levon Bell that we need to concern ourselves with! Take it to the and get the win! We can beat Ben up in the playoffs again - if we are missing him that bad!
  17. Lets be honest. I don't think we are as bad as we have played on defense. The year before Pees got here our defense flourished under Chuck Pagano. Ngata had a MVP like season... I think Suggs won the MVP... Ray Lewis continued to be Ray... same with Ed Reed... We even had young guys look like a steal when McPhee played lights out at DE, Webb looked like a lock down CB and TCody looked like a promising young stud. The next year Pees comes in and everyone said how old our defense got (RAY and ED). McPhee was moved from DE to LB and Cody was being called a bust. People were questioning Webb and Jimmy and promising young LB's like Josh Bynes and company were being said that they could not stop the run! (Same team that flourished under PAGS). The season was marked but inconsistent play on defense, not being able to stop the run and defensive collapses late in the game. THe next season we made some big investments to sure up the defense. BWIlliams was drafted, Dumervil was brought in and DSMith. ABrown was supposed to be the man... Canty was added... big investments were made.... we were still inconsistent marked by more of the same issues but we caught fire under the leadership of RAY LEWIS in his swan song and the rest was history. The defense wasn't dominant like in the past but good enough bc Joe Flacco played out of his mind. The next year... Ray and Ed retire and they call it a rebuilding year. We cannot stop the pass- we cannot get off of the field on 3rd down and we are inconsistent week in and week out. But the excuse was that we lost too much (and no leadership). We missed the playoffs. We make a big investment in the defense and draft CJ and bring in Will Hill and we have Webb and Jimmy under contract... Dumevil and Suggs.... Haloti Ngata and DSmith. We have Young talent in BWIlliams and McPhee, ABrown still on the bench and young draft picks like Asa Jackson, Matt Elam, TBrooks, and Timmy Jernigan and more. Yet our defense cannot get off of the field on 3rd down, we cannot close the Bengals 2x out, or the sqeelers, or the Browns or several other games that we should have won last year. We make things interesting but we manage to get into the play offs. Jimmy Smith goes down and with all this talent we blame our inability to close the Patriots out and secure (2) 14 point leads on our CB play. We go out this year and address out DB situation... we re-sign Will Hill, We get Jimmy back healty, WEbb is healthy, We re-sign RMelvin and then sign Kyle Arrington and draft Tray Walker. Brooks will return from and injury and we sign S KLewis. We made a big investment in making sure that the DBs were well stalked. We have Timmy and BWilliams and Canty and co up front. We have DUM and CJ and DSMITH and Suggs at LB (we lost suggs) but have CUpshaw to relapce him (how many teams have that luxury). We have a great DL (still haven't given up the 100 yard rusher) and heck a great front 7 (even without suggs). We went the extra mile to assure the DB's were in a much better place. The season starts and we cannot get off the field on 3rd down, we close teams out, we cannot stop the pass, we are giving up 30 points a game. It is the same old same old no matter what investment we make. It is another excuse (we lost Suggs) but we have a dozen other really good players on that side of the ball! The pattern has been consistent since Pees got here. The problem has not changed and to make matters worse the defense in spite of all of the help still seems to be deteriorating. How much more can this guy fail us before he is held accountable. Why cant the FO see what is happening here. This is reached a point of absurdity and I cannot believe that Pees has the audacity to call anyone out. He needs to look in the mirror! Pees is our problem and has been since he arrived in BMORE! His reign has been a debacle and he has single handedly turned a once proud defense into a one of the least feared units in the NFL.... how long will this go on? How long can we turn a blind eye? Its time for Pees to go!
  18. Pittsburgh is winnable (especialy without big jen). The browns with 3 extra days to prepare (at home) we should win... that puts us at 2-3 and 2-1 in the conference. We then see the woeful 49ers who have talent but are not playing well and could right the ship sending us to 3-3. and 2-1 in the conference. Respectable. I think we would need to still beat the Cards... just to give us confidence moving forward that we can actually beat a good team. This would show growth... and show that the defense can stop a good QB with good WRs - If we can be 4-3 after that game... watch out but if we are 3-4 or worse... I think this may not be our season!
  19. I have said this all year.... and I still don't know that I get why we are not trying to implement more two TE sets. We are struggling finding weapons in the passing game right now and we are having trouble running the ball. Increased two TE sets could help in both of these areas. 1. We have good young talent at TE... and an extra big target to take some of the pressure off of Steve Smith couldn't hurt. 2. Another TE to help Hurst out a little could really open up a run game. 3. It would force Defenses to take an extra DB off of the field and add in a S or LB to help match up with the big bodied TE's. This should create more space for SSS and more importantly create mismatches for people like Campanaro and Marlon Brown to exploit that underneath routes. 4. Finally.... this would also allow Trestman the opportunity to utilize Juice and Forsett, etc out of the backfield more by keeping the opposing Safties honest and occupied in the seam. (Something that Trestman did well in Chicago was utilize Matt Forte out of the backfield). Why not adjust and play to our strength, instead of trying to force a square peg into a round hole.... we need to be more pliable to get the most out of our personal and this seems to be just one way of allowing us to get a little more out of our attributes.
  20. While I would not be opposed to making a trade for a WR.... I would not wan to mortgage the future on this move. SSS will be reitiring at the end of the year and we already know this. We are going to need to make an investment into at least one more WR for 2016 and beyond! Therefore... I would not be against making a trade now! However I would not trade a # 1 and probably not a # 2 (unless it were for a top notch WR)???? A trade that I would consider however is KO for a WR. Not that I want to lose KO but we cannot keep both him and Yanda and we have already made that clear. That means we will be keeping Yanda and are going to lose KO... I would rather get something for him instead of nothing! So a rare mid season trade may make sense in that situation. KO and say a 5th rounder for a serviceable and quality WR now could help us because we have Urschel who has shown that he can step in and play (and play well). We still have Jensen behind him who can add depth at G /C. We would answer a need for now and for the future and mitigate a future loss and manage a cap space problem allowing us to sign Yanda , Upshaw, Tucker and some others that we will be trying to manage next year! Now the question is who would be the takers? I think that a young team like JAX or TAMPA who is building and needs to protect a franchise QB. They both (and JAX) in particular has some young talent at that position. IDK.... without naming names.... I think this could be a win / win (albeit a rare move in the NFL)!
  21. What Has to Change for the Ravens Defense To Finish? Simple the DC! I could say 1. get off of the field on 3rd down. 2. Make plays 3. Eliminate Breakdowns 4. Not give up 30 points consistently 5. Communicate better 6. Take more pride 7. Be Better 8. Eliminate Penalties - These are all things that was suggested above. I can re-iterate these but when the personal is right (as Webb and Harbs suggested above) and there are that many problems that answer is simple... where is the accountability and that falls on the coaching staff. These issues have been consistent since Dean Peers got here and His chances are about ran out! (I hope). When there is talent and there are that many problems... and the scheme has been an issue. It comes down to one thing. THe DC - What Has To Change For Ravens Defense to Finish. Get a new DC and we will see an instantaneous change for the better!
  22. Perriman.... SMH????? HArbs needs to get rid of Pees now.. if not the FO needs to step in and force this move. The best way to shut Kraft up is to right the ship and beat them in the playoffs when it counts.... We need to stop blaming this on SUggs. Heck we went without Ray Lewis for 6 games and still won the super bowl! Suggs has become Pees scapegoat! Pees gotta go!
  23. Fastynart.... I really do not think that Arrington is that bad- nor do I think that Jimmy is as bad as he has played... or even Webb for that matter. I don't think that Will Hill or Kendrick Lewis are bad ball players. I believe in fact that the entire group is very talented... However we have not put them in advantageous situations throughout. Infact I feel like our defensive scheme, play calling, game planning and preparation has set them up to fail. I said it last season... We could have Reevis, Talib, Joe Haden, Weddle, and Mark Barron back there and we wouldn't be able to stop anyone. This bend but don't break philosophy keeps braking and I really believe that it is less about the players and more about the coaching and the scheme. The talent and technique is there, the Tactics and the tenacity simply are not and it shows!
  24. Canty has missed a lot of games since coming here too! That stuff is contagious! The injury bug hits a lot more when we lose then when we win!
  25. Hurst has been worth his weight in gold for us! Not that he has been Jonathan Ogden back there but he has been solid and came in as an UFA... at one of the toughest positions in football. I bet he has played more games for us then Monroe since coming here. I think Monroe should be forced to give James Hurst some of his big pay check. Hurst seems to be earning Monroe's money more then Eugene is that is for sure!
