  1. ABoldin will be a FA WR next year - as will Travis Benjamin.... wouldn't mind adding either and the price should be right on both. Obviously... don't believe that either would be our # 1... but if Perriman returns (and assuming SSS retires).... singing either of these guys would mean that we could look at a OT in round one and pick up another WR in rounds 2-4... Perriman plus one of these two (or both) and a solid 3rd round draft pick (and there are some in this years draft) with Camp returning and Waller returning... We could look much better at WR next year! (assuming Perriman, Camp and Waller could stay healthy)... Heck maybe better add two VETS
  2. 1. Marlon...the experiment is over... he is just not a starting WR in the NFL.. maybe if we had two healthy and solid WR's a true #1 and #2... Marlon can be a mismatch as a slot WR but when he has to play a bigger role... he is not that guy and we need to look elsewhere 2. Kamar is not a starting WR in the NFL... and we need to look elsewhere. 3. I wish we could trade Monroe but nobody in their right mind would give us anything close to what we have invested in him! He is staying but I think it is time we invested in a starting LT! Cause Monroe is not it! 4. Neither is Hurst for that matter. I think Hurst for being an UDFA has done an admirable job ... but we need better if we are going to get where we are planning on being! 5. It is difficult to evaluate the entire defense until we have a new DC! AS is... nobody looks good enough! (Maybe BWIlliams and CJ would be the only people we would keep) SMH! So I feel like we need to start with a NEW DC... and then we will see if 1. Elam is worth hanging onto or not? 2. If Webb or Jimmy for that matter can ever regain form? 3. If Suggs has anything left (but even if so... he is limited in years and we need to add some pass rushers!). 4. If ABrown can ever live up to his draft status / or CUpshaw for that matter! 5. If we can regain the form of a feared defense once again.... SO I think this is our priority list heading into 2016. 1. Get a new DC 2. Add a LT via the draft 3. Add a veteran WR & CB via FA 4. Add a couple of Pass Rushers through the draft. 5. Add WR depth and CB depth through the draft
  3. many pundits were calling us a super bowl contender going into this season. Many even had us as a favorite to win the super bowl.... that was knowing that we lost Torrey and Haloti, etc. Yet when we are 1-6 it is funny how we like to make excuses... "THEY LOST TOO MUCH" .... Suggs is the biggest loss since those predictions. And while that is a giant loss... it isn't so big that we go from super bowl favorites in the AFC to 1-6. I am sick of the excuses. Our defense sucks! It is absolutely horrible. We average giving up 27.5 points per game! In other words it we don't put up 30 points per contest we cannot win! Ohhhh we will keep it close. We will make it interesting but we cannot slow even mediocre offenses with average qbs down... enough to really win a game. Our only win is vs a 4-3 team with a backup QB and without one of their top WR's... That's it! Our defense couldn't even stop them.... it took us more then 3 TDs and OT to pull that one out! Our defense has regressed every year since Pees got here. We continue to make a giant investment in the D (with draft picks and FA) over the past 2 years alone we have added CJ, Timmy, CFavis, TBrooks, TWalker, ZSmith, and Urban... We brought in a ton of FA... Will Hill, KLewis, LGuy, KArrington, (DSMith the year before)... (BWilliams the year before).... Heck at almost every position on defense we have made a big investment... bc Pees said out guys couldn't cut it (even though they did before he got here)... we have made giant investments on that side of the ball... and we have gotten worse! Significantly... to the tune of 27.5 points per game. What????? They say its not too late for the Ravens to be great and I say that we will not be great until we get rid of Pees! He is the defensive twin of Cam Cameron... we lost CAM and went on to win the Super Bowl... lets get rid of Pees now so that we have a chance to win the super bowl next season... They are right its not too late for the Ravens to be great... but it wont happen until Pees is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. SMH! I guess that's what season has come to????
  5. Wesley may be actually seeing playing time... MONROE seems to be working harder to be out then in the game and Hurst is the main guy but Wesleys size makes him intriguing??? Injuries are contagious in a losing season! SMH
  6. -7 equals 1-6 .... that is really all the football math we need to know!
  7. Ummmm .... Flacco is an 8 year veteran....A franchise QB.... A SuperBowl MVP...one of the all time wins leaders in the post season! When communication goes out and things get hectic... take it over. Call you own stuff... run YOUR offense! That's why we pay you $120Million dollars.... Joe needs to be that leader and be trusted as that leader... He should never be saying... well we weren't sure of the play calling (with the game on the line) OWN IT JOE! Take the reins!
  8. HMMMMMMMMMM.... Arians on the win... "We executed well, played 4 quarters and made the big plays" The Ravens issues in 6 loses. We don't execute well (penalties), We struggle to be consistent for 4 quarters and we give up the big play! Carson Palmer on the difference in their wins and loses this year... "That's been the tale of the two loses, Turnovers"... Whats been the tale of 6 loses for the Ravens losing the Turnover battle... In the NFL any team can win on any given Sunday.... the teams that win consistently do the basics well (Execute, play 4 quarters, Don't give up the big play and don't turn the ball over). The teams that lose consistently in the NFL are the teams who do not manage those things well!
  9. Way too Early to start comparing Diggs to Perriman. Heck... If I just look at one season... we may say that Paul Krueger was a better draft pick then Suggs? But anyone who has watched their careers would tell you just how crazy that sounds. While Krueger was a decent draft pick and had a good season or two while SUggs was out with an injury... nobody who has seen the big picture would ever suggest that kruger was even close to Suggs. 1 season doesn't make a career. Justin Forsett had a better season then APeterson last year... does that mean he was a better draft pick then Peterson??? Matt Cassel threw for 3500 yards in 2008 then Tom Brady did (brady was out with injury) does that make Cassel a better draft pick. CMon people get a grip. It sux that Perriman has missed his rookie season with an injury but 1 season does not make a career. I wish we would have had him all year but 1 season does not make a career. Way too early to start calling Perriman a bust and way too early to begin to suggest that so and so would have been a better draft pick at WR? If Perriman gives us 10 good years will anyone even remember that he was injured his rookie year. If he turns into the next Randy Moss... will anyone even bring up (yea but his rookie year).... that's absurd! The kid is injured. It sux but that's like in the NFL... lets hope he puts together a great career from here forward!
  10. 8 Consistent Things that Keep Happening to the Ravens! 1. We keep giving up 27 points per game 2. We keep making opposing QBs look great 3. We keep making stupid penalties 4. Giving up big plays on defense 5. We continue to struggle getting off of the field on 3rd down. 6. We continue to struggle to get to the opposing QB and get pressure on them. 7. We continue to make poor excuses and give lip service after the game. 8. WE CONTINUE TO LOSE!
  11. Man... Ray could be sending a lot of other messages.... WHat is he saying? To believe in yourself, to work hard, to trust God, to live right.... and good things will happen in your life. He is acknowledging that their is a power greater then himself and that Jesus Christ is the influence n his life that changed him from all those things he was accused of and involved with... to who he became... a leader of men! One of the greatest motivators we know. This is what worked for him.... and he is sharing it! In a day and age where a lot of these young guys in the NFL are going in a wrong direction... who are hearing a lot of wrong messages... What is wrong with Ray acknowledging what changed him? These are grown men... if they don't believe the same they don't have to. He is not threatening to hurt them if they don't. He is just saying... this is what made a drastic change for him. Made his life drastically different. When you find something good - you share it. It amazes me how many people knock him for sharing a life that has been dramatically changed and the reason for it? IDK... even if someone don't believe the same... cant they respect the fact that this is what worked for him? Something brought change in his life? and it was dramatic. WHy not acknowledge it. Not everyone has to agree or accept what he attributes it to... but he does attribute it to Jesus Christ. Who can argue that? Maybe it don't apply to your life but he has the right to speak about what happened in his life! If people agree to disagree that is their choice but saying that he shouldn't discuss his views or share his beliefs... that is hypocritical. BC when someone says he shouldn't they are assuming they have the right to share their beliefs (that he shouldn't). IF we can get on here and share our beleifs whey does he not have the right to do the same?
  12. SSS a true RAVEN at heart. I wish we could find 22 of this guy....
  13. 5 things to watch. 1. Those are very good DBacks vs our avg WR corps with the exception of SSS... Can we establish the run or get the TE's heavily involved early and often? 2. Can we get pressure on Palmer? if not he may pick apart our struggling and decimated secondary. 3. Will Pees make the necessary in game adjustments or will the other team figure us out again and pick us apart for a close win in the 4th quarter? 5. Will our Offensive Line dominate their DL like we should? Will our DL dominate their OL like we should... in other words will we win the physical battle vs a very good but soft team?
  14. I am thinking that Marcus Peters looks like he would have been a very good 1st round pick for us! The kid looks great in KC right now! and we sure could use some good young talent in our DB.... Draft Do over 1st Round : Marcus Peters Round 2. Jalen Strong Round 3. Carl Davis Round 4. Stefon Diggs
  15. Everyone is all of a sudden down on Ozzies drafts? He has drafted Yanda (4x probowler), Suggs (former DPOY), BWilliams (probable probowler this year), CJ (probowler), Wagner, Tucker (actually found as an UDFA), Koch, Jimmy, Webb, Upshaw, FLacco (former Super Bowl MVP), Timmy and CDavis, KO (potential pro bowler) and Pitta Those are some of the starters on this team that he has drafted. But we also need to look around the league and take a look at many other players that he drafted who are playing with other teams (Haloti Ngata, McPhee, Tyrod Taylor, Ellerbee, BPierce, Torrey Smith, Benn Grubbs, Bobby Rainey, Ed Dickson, Paul Krueger,Art Jones, Chris Chester, Antwan Barnes, Josh Bynes, Jon Simon and more) many of these players are making their marks with other teams (some having more of an impact then others but that is a lot of talent in the NFL found and drafted by Ozzie and CO and that don't count RAY RICE.... who nobody is giving a chance (absurd) but we cannot really know Ozzie.... on his draft stuff... it just a matter of keeping the right people and being able to keep people. Ontop of having a good nose for talent... Ozzie has brought in some big time FA's over the years from MASE, to BOldin, to SSS, Will Hill, Doom, Canty, DSmith, Zuttah, Forsett, Cary Williams, etc. Not sure how we knock Ozzie... not every draft hits the jackpot and we cannot predict injuries (Kindle, Perriman, Elam, Brooks, Urban, KLM,Campanaro, Webb) but that stuff happens. It just sux when it all happens at once! Ozzie has the track record! He will right the ship... and we have the nucleus to do it!
  16. We have a solid core of guys : QB Flacco RB Forsett TE (3 good young prospects) OL: a very good OL with some depth DL BWilliams, Timmy and CDavis make a solid core group but need to add a dynamic DE.... OL... Suggs, Doom and Upshaw as solid but aging and we may lose Upshaw but ZSmth has shown some promise... Still need to add a solid pass rusher off of the edge. ILB is as good as any in the NFL with CJ and DSmith would love to see ABrown take over beside CJ for next season! CB... Jimmy is good / Webb and Arrington could add solid depth but we need another legit CB. S Will Hill is the real deal but Elam , Brooks and KLewis need to take the next step. The biggest position in question is WR... especially is SSS really does retire. We have talent in Perriman but a lot of unknown. We need to add another legit WR and I am saying two more! IDK what Waller can become but I don't think that Marlon or Kamar are much more then depth on a roster!
  17. Wait....wasn't it a bone bruise that left Perriman out?
  18. merryijmen..... I don't care where they were picked. You stated that BWIlliams was picked at the end of the 3rd round so you wouldn't call him super talented???? That is like saying bc Tom Brady was picked in the 6th round... you wouldn't call him super talented? CMon... BWilliams is one of the top 5 interior DL in the NFL. If that is not elite level talent IDK what is???? I don't care where he was drafted. Many players were picked ahead of Carl Davis and he is outplaying them! But Jimmy Smith has not played well this season..... (and I don't think it is injury related) DO you? THe Seahawks, Bengals, Pats, Sqeeelers and many other teams seem to be getting a lot of production out of mid level drafted DB's ..... I guess what you are saying is that the only way we could expect to be good is if we drafted our DB's all in round 1? That's absurd! Many of our DBs drafted in the early rounds have also struggled. (Jimmy, Elam, Brooks, etc) Many of the FAs DBs brought in... who flourished under other DC's struggle to cut it here. (Will Hill, KLewis, KArrington, etc). Many of our DB's leave here and instantly play better under other DC's (DStewart, JIhedigbo, BPollard, Chykie Brown,) and I am betting the RMelvin keeps that trend going too! I have seen it pointed out on this forum and I think it is accurate... not a single DB has played well under Pees and the only Defensive players who have played well under Pees has been the Elite Talents... (Suggs, Dum, McPhee, BWilliams) Even NGata seemed to regress under Pees. Haloti freaking Ngata... SO if you are a DB you wont cut it in Pees system and if you are not an elite defender.... hope you get traded bc you wont cut it in this system either! We have a lot of talent on defense and are averaging giving up nearly 28 points per game..... Yes that is a coaching issue!
  19. What DB has played well since Pees got here? Has anyone defensive player found success since Pee Got here? I can think a very few? McPhee seemed to play well under Pees..(albeit inconsistent) Suggs did (but he is TZSizzle). Mosley had a great Rookie year but inconsistent this season. BWllliams has played very well but that may be due to his super high talent level also. Dumervil but has also struggled this season. So basically two...Sizzle and BWilliams.... Maybe Doom? No a single DB has played well since Pees got here and very few others! (in other words... it seems to me that the superstar will continue to play at a high level bc they are superstars.. but if you are not one of the elite superstars in this league.. you will struggle in DPees Defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I wonder it this series should be shared with Pees. Cause he seems to miss a lot every game!
  21. It don't mater if we have Reevis and Sherman as our CBs - Pees will make them look bad and then say they were washed up when we got them! What DB has looked good under Pees? Which one has grown under Pees? Can we name 1 DB since 2011 who has gotten better for us? Can we name one DB since 2011 (when Pees took over) who hasn't gotten worse for us? What else do we need to see. This is not a knee jerk reaction. This is a 5 year trend and a pretty large sample. We cannot name 1 not 1 DB who has gotten better under Pees reign! NOT 1! in 5 years. Many left and played better... many played at a high level and came in and played worse! Why can NO one be successful in our system?????? We have went backwards 2010 (before Pees got here) we avg giving up 16.9 points per game, 2009 -16.3 /per game and 2008 -15.3 per game. Pees over the past 3 years. 2015- 27.5 pts per game, 2014 -19 points per game and 2013 -22 points per game. This trend is alarming and no matter who we bring in they are not good enough (but good enough when we let them go). WHat does this tell you in a large sample? That our system doesn't work! Our scheme is broken~! Get rid of Pees and get rid of him now and yes in mid-season. THat gives us 10 games to work with a new DC and makes for a much easier transition next season - why wait until camp when we can get a new system established now???? Pees gotta go!
  22. My biggest criticism of Flacco is that he needs to learn to manage the pocket better and manipulate pressure better. He still panics like no other starter when they get to him. Hope he works on that through the off-season.... and watch out next year!
  23. PalmBayRaven.... I hear what you are saying and I also wanted to expect so much more out of Flacco this season. He has the tools and he is an 8 year veteran with a ton of post season success and experience. He is growing and I was hoping to see the best Flacco we have ever seen but I also had to remind myself... that this is Joe's 4th OC in 4 years! 4 new systems in 4 years. 4 new ways of doing things---- 4 new play books to learn. That has to slow development at some point. We have to expect a learning curve to some degree. Next... I remembered that we have a 36 your old # 1 WR and a rookie # 2.... and a bunch of unproven players behind them. A couple of injuries to our # 1 and #2 and all of a sudden we have a veteran QB in a new system with little help. No targets and a OL in front of him that is also learning a new system and had some difficulty protecting him early. Joe has took more of a beaten this season then I have ever seen him. IF we can get another year under Trestman, add a few legit weapons at WR.... give those young TE's a year to develop and lock up KO or add depth on that OL... I expect Joe to have a career year next season... this season seemed to be too much stacked against him (and he still may pass for record yardage)!
  24. WOW.... okay a couple of things: 1. We have come a long way in a week -from "We are not going to quit fighting" to "Limit the disappointment to one season". It took less then a week to waive the flag of surrender? We have conceded? Don't get me wrong... I don't think any expects us to right the ship and make the playoffs but when we are winning our mantra is, "Lets take it one game at a time" lets just win this week. Why does that not still apply when we are losing? 2. The trends are alarming! 19-19 since we won the super bowl? 1-5 vs the Bengals? 1-5 on this season? Ohhh boy... I didn't realize it was that bad! We are clearly moving in the wrong direction and here is the biggest issue. in the 3 years before Pees came we avged giving up (2010 -16.9 pts per game - 2009 -16.3 points per game and 2008 - 15.3 points per game) with Pees the trend is spiraling downwards (2015 -27.5 points per game so far 2014 19.0 points per game 2013 22.0 points per game, heck even go 2012 and we gave up 21.5 points per game).... Pees best season is the year he took over in 2011 and he gave up 16.6 points per game! The more he has implemented his system - the worse we have gotten and by far! 3. We haven't been great at Drafting WR's but we have hit the jackpot a few times with bringing FAs in (Mason, Bldin, SSS) maybe that is our ticket at that position... but we cant draft a CB or bring one in...no matter who we stick at CB (or even S) lately they suck????? Wait even in a failing offense (many years) we could get WR production out of Mase, Boldin, SSS, Torrey, etc. Why cant we get anyone to produce at DB.... maybe its not the lack of talent or depth .... maybe it truly is the DC...maybe the trends don't lie! Maybe we better make a change there or we can expect things to continue to get worse and these trends becomes the norm in BMORE! Pees gotta go!
  25. I have said this before and I will keep saying it. It doesn't matter if we would bring in DReevis, RSherman, Clinton Ha Ha Dix and Cam Chancelor - Earl Thomas- Eric Weddle etc... We would still have an excuse why our DB's cant cover. James Ihedigbo and Darian Stewart are having pro-bowl like seasons this year in (Denver and Detroit respectively). I think Chykie Brown is playing in NY (not sure how well he is doing admittedly). Will Hill was considered one of the top Safties in the NFL with the Giants... Just last season Jimmy Smith was being called one of the top 5 CB's in the NFL. KLewis was having a probowl type season last year in Houston. Kyle Arrington was one of the hottest CB FA's on the market at the start of this season. WHy can our players (who are not cutting it here) leave here and play at a high level elsewhere? Why can other players look great elsewhere and then come here and in a short time look horrible? Why can players we have and know are great look so bad in our defense? It cannot be that every DBack that we bring in is horrible! At some point we have to be honest about this and say that our DC is failing us! When ? If you make everyone around you worse -what does that say. IF they leave and instantly get better what does that say? If they are great and come in and play horrible and cant cut it in our D what does that say? Tell me one DB that flourished under Pees? One? Tell how many DBacks have under achieved since we got Pees? Tell me how many left and played much better under a new DC in one short year? Somebody logically explain to me why this guy is still here? He is killing us! Period!
