  1. It's pretty simple talking heads, Pitta will be used as a slot receiver to create mismatches once he is back on the actual game field, I said this after we drafted Williams and Boyle. Both are already better blockers than Dennis ever will be amd with Crockett leading the group, we don't need another TE. But what we do need are reliable receivers and Pitta has always been just that when he is healthy.

  2. I cannot believe you were negged to hell for this post! The naivety of our fans in unbelievable. Okay, yeah he probably won't pass 500 yards (probably!), but more likely than not it will be Kaps best game of the season. Close to 400 yards and 3 TD-s + change at rushing is more than realistic.

Face the facts guys, our secondary is contesting Giants' secondary for the league worst awards, our pass rush is non-factor, and now we have injuries on top of that. It'll be a field day for Kap.

Just today the FedEx award nominations for last week were announced and you can guess three times if McCown is on there or not. Yup, of course he is! After 5 weeks this season, 3 times has the QB who went against us been nominated for the best passer award for that week. The other 2 were nearly 40-year old Manning and a backup QB making his 1st start this season.

So, people who think this defense has a realistic shot at shutting down Kap need a shovel hit to the face to knock them back to reality, because it's more likely that he'll pass for 500 yards 4 TDs and rush for 150 yards 2 TDs and be the FedEx Air player of week 6, than it is for the Ravens secondary to shut him down.

I love to end things on an optimistic note though, so at least it'll be nice to see Boldin and Smith have games for the highlight reel, us Ravens fans should love both of these guys. I especially enjoy watching Smith get DPI flags, though it probably won't happen much in this game, he'll just run past our secondary like a Ferrari driving past a lamp post. We should start calling our DB group the Forrest, cause they apparently have grown roots.

Pessimism nor optimism have anything to do with it here, it's simply knowing football players. As you pointed out Peyton is on his last legs and Vick had 4 days of practice as the starter. But Derek Carr is a franchise QB in the making, a strong armed guy who is making better decisions with each start in his young career Josh McCown has always been a smart journeyman with the adequate tools to have big games. And as much as I despise Dalton, he has always been a good thrower with quality weapons to take advantage of porous defenses. Kaepernick is an athlete masquerading as a terrible QB who has regressed every year of his career. I don't doubt he could have a solid game with the way our defense is playing but if he throws for 400 yards, hell will have officially frozen over. If you are looking to be this big of a pessimist, it would be more realistic to think he will run all over us than to magically have the throwing talent that he simply doesn't have. We have after all allowed easy TD runs by the aforementioned McCown and Dalton and they are nowhere near as athletic as Kaepernick is.

  3. Ten. Yards. Off. 9. Out. Of. 10. Plays.

I have said it over a hundred times over the last few years so what is one more? I would rather see our DBs try to jam receivers within the 5 yards they are allowed to in order to disrupt the timing of short routes. I don't care if they get beat sometimes doing this. It's better than watching us give all of these passes up sitting in a soft zone...

  4. Aiken is actually the guy of these four I have the most faith in. We wouldn't have beaten Pittsburgh without him and apart from that terrible fumble against Oakland, he has been as good of a #2 receiver as we can expect. He made the most of his opportunities last year for a decent statline and has improved in my opinion each week this season. I really dig the Givens pickup and he will be solid once he has the offense down pat but I think it is unrealistic to think he will be extremely involved this week anyway. I also really like Waller's potential but this is also a 6th round rookie coming from a very run heavy offense so he still has a way to go. Brown to me is the biggest disappointment. After being one of the team's few bright spots his rookie year, he seems to drop at least one pass every single game now. I wish the best and hope he can truly contribute but the drops have me pessimistic about his role...

  5. What a garbage filler article. So our website already assumes we are out of the running for the division title after our 4th game? If this was week 10 or something and we were still looking up at the Bengals and Browns I could agree with pulling for them over other AFC Wild Card contenders but these teams still have 13 games to play. You'd better believe I'll be pulling for the Chargers and Chiefs this week.
