  1. My favorite draft in years overall, solid value from top to bottom. I still maintain the team will start using Pitta as a split-out receiver for mismatches in the slot once he gets healthy. Pitta will never be anything more than a below average blocker at this point in his career if he is able to come back but he is still a fantastic pass catcher. We will have solid options at the in-line TE position with Williams (still plenty of time for him to improve blocking and he already is not as bad there as some pundits have made him out to be), Gillmore, and Boyle/Supernaw to just give this offense another flexible weapon. Smitty and Perriman, Brown, Campanaro, and Aiken with another year of experience and hopefully more opportunities in the rotation. Forsett, Taliaferro, and Allen out of the backfield. Forsett, Allen, and Juszczyk all capable pass catchers out of the backfield. Williams as a great pass catcher and Pitta as a receiver when he gets back. This offense is loaded provided the o-line can keep up the good work from last year.
  2. I really like the pick. His issues are all things that can easily be improved with mentoring and coaching. I think it helps to have a father who played the same position too and can help tutor his son on the subtlties of route running/concentration when the kid is not with the team. Yes he is still a little raw, but remember he is only 21, plenty of time for him to grow.
  3. When he gets locked up long term, I will be purchasing a Justin Tucker jersey.
  4. If you don't have time to skim this whole thread I'll give you the summary: Sami84 says Lewis is a terrible safety and that's all you need to know since they have the inside scoop while working in the front office...oh wait...
  5. Unfortunately I have to start leaning that way as much as I liked the pick when the team made it. It doesn't help that he has hardly been allowed to play his natural strong safety position in two seasons but that doesn't excuse all of the very poor tackling we saw this year from him. I agree that we should give him the next season before declaring him as a "bust" though. He's not the first player to take some time to really hit his stride, especially at a defensive back position.
  6. My favorite so far was the Oculus Rift episode two weeks ago. It's been a pretty great season for the most part, especially compared to how hit or miss they've been the last few seasons. Last night's episode wasn't as good but I still got a kick out of it since I used to play Magic the Gathering in high school to pass the time with friends in my two "useless last semester of my senior year" classes.
  7. Just spent a few hours binge watching the episodes of season 9 of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" I missed since I only caught a couple last year due to the stupidity of it moving to FXX. It's difficult for a show to not get stale after so long but those guys are amazing at coming up with new subjects each season, best comedy series of the millenium so far IMO if you aren't someone who is easily offended.
  8. I generally do agree with you actually but you must understand that the main reason the game may feel that way to you is not because of the developer but the publisher. I'm not absolving Bungie of any flaws here but Activision is the primary proponent of "dumbing" the game down.I read an AMA on reddit last week from an anonymous Bungie employee who said they wanted the game to be along the lines of an MMO Mass Effect which would have been absolutely amazing for me and many others. Unfortunately, Activision with their Call of Duty - revolving minds didn't feel like something like that would sell as well so they ordered them to "casual it up" and as a result the story got hacked to ribbons. Now this could have been someone just trolling, but so much of what was said in the AMA makes sense that it is difficult to see that. In conclusion, yes I agree this game could have been so much better if publishers would just let developers...um develop. As it is, I still have a lot of fun with this game and will continue to do so. It's not as though this is the first, or last, time a AAA game has been hindered by money hungry publishing giant.
  9. I have been MIA here because of this game. All of the people complaining about it assumed it would be like Halo and are coming from a military First Person Shooter background in gaming, they don't comprehend loot based RPGs/MMOs that require you to grind which is what this game is, it just happened to come in a FPS-style shell, kind of like the only other FPS series I actually enjoy: Borderlands. They think everything should be handed to them because "I came in 1st in my Crucible match and I didn't get anything!" Sorry but the Crucible is just a side area created by Bungie in an attempt to sate these neanderthals. I've been grinding and farming loot in games since I was 12 trying to get parts off of enemies for ultimate weapons in Final Fantasy VIII so the grind doesn't bother me. The story could have been a little more in depth but that is literally my only complaint about the game because I do love story-driven games, especially sci-fi ones. I give it a very solid 9/10, my main character is a level 27 Hunter and I and my friends still find plenty to keep us entertained with this game.
  10. Not long now...less than two weeks. Sorry Perfekt, I will be playing on my shiny new white Destiny-edition PS4. It will look nice next to my white PS3
  11. I forgot the Roots and Mos Def! I'm definitely a big fan too.
  12. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/22/leveon-bell-to-cops-i-smoked-two-hours-ago-im-not-high-anymore/ The follow up to that twitter quote to the cops was just as good. "I smoked two hours ago, I'm not high anymore. I feel perfectly fine."
  13. From what I've read, only Bell was actually tested since he was the one also facing DUI charges. Blount was supposedly on the teams' flight later that evening.I don't think any of us should expect punishment for this season (at least early on in the season anyway) if none of the charges are dropped due to 1) the point in time it took place in proximity to the season and 2) considering how long the league has been taking to officially hand out punishment (see Ray Rice, Josh Gordon, Aldon Smith, Greg Hardy). That said its hard to say how Bell and Blount's situation will play out. Just for comparison's sake I wanted to look at it next to Deonte's case but his misdemeanor charges were dropped since apparently his buddy owned up to being the one in possession. According to the reports, neither Bell, Blount, or the woman with them denied possession and all admitted to it being collectively theirs I guess. We will see..
  14. Therein is the reasoning. None of us condone what Ray did whatsoever but he is on our team so naturally we will defend him as far as logic will allow. Meanwhile, I can't recall how many Steeler fans I know personally and have read across the internet "throwing stones" at our team over the Rice incident. A guy I work with was just praising his Steelers a week ago to me for them staying out of trouble. I brought up the Pouncey situation and he panned it. Unfortunately he is not working today for me to throw this "stone" at him. It's the nature of being a fan of any team in any sport. I would love for nothing negative to be said about any team by their opposing fanbases and be able to always have civil, objective conversations with opposing fans but that's completely unrealistic. I've never been one to cast the first stone when it comes to this but you'd better believe I will throw them back in defense of my franchise if the ammunition is there, as I said it's all part of the nature of being a fan in my opinion.
  15. I tend to agree, not a lot in the mainstream that I enjoy, especially not like the big acts from the 90s that I did enjoy. However there are a lot of indie guys out there doing some great work rapping and often producing everything themselves. A few have broken somewhat mainstream so you may have heard them but some of my favorite artists in the genre today: Aesop Rock, Busdriver, Tyler the Creator, Childish Gambino, MF Doom, Madlib to name just a few. Was always a big fan of the lesser known Jurassic 5 and Pharcyde back in their days too.
  16. A great suggestion for someone who has not seen the first, but Mickey Rourke is perfect as Marv, believe me.
  17. Every Gordon defender across the country is being so defensive because they smoke marijuana as well. Well I am a regular smoker myself but I also make $25k a year. How difficult is it to comprehend that they players agreed to marijuana testing in the CBA and are held to a higher standard than we "common folk"? What I'm amazed about is how his recent DWI is being disregarded by all defenders of his. So Ray Rice put his fiance in danger but its okay that Josh Gordon put everyone on the road in his vicinity in danger that night in North Carolina? Thank God his stupidity and carelessness didn't end poorly for any mothers and their children who may have been about that night. Forget the marijuana, I have zero respect for anyone who drinks and drives.
  18. Just heard Jane McManus of ESPN try to compare Ray Rice's crime with Jovan Belcher's crime of shooting his girlfriend nine times. Amazing...*shakes head* When will people stop making these generalizations and realize that EVERY situation (not just domestic abuse ones) comes about via completely different circumstances?

From what it sounds like, she was hitting rice in the elevator and he shoved her to get her off and she hit some metal barring. SMH

  19. I don't recall Justified on Netflix but I'm probably wrong. What irks me about that is the fact that just about every other FX show IS still on Netflix (SOA, The League, Louie, Its Always Sunny, American Horror Story, etc). Fortunately I have the first 4 seasons on DVD so it doesn't matter to me but I honestly believe the fact that its not on there is one of the reasons a lot of people are not familiar with it. It used to be on Hulu plus and Amazon Instant but I don't have either of those anymore.
  20. Already said it on this thread a few times but....JUSTIFIED. Amazing actors, fantastic writing, great cinematography and sets. The 5th season good not great, but the first 4 are solid gold. So many people are completely ignorant of this gem. Since I only saw codizzle mention, I can confirm that Hell on Wheels is pretty good too.
  21. I actually just preordered the PS4 Destiny bundle because it has a limited edition white PS4 that will fit perfectly with my limited edition white PS3, haha. I know, I know but a black PS4 wouldn't look right next to it... As far as the game goes, I'm just as excited as you are for it!
  22. Also, Th3Raven's compariaon to Superman/Zod battling to Dragonball Z is completely spot on. I actually enjoyed Man of Steel for the most part and I've never been a Superman fan, but when they were duking it out, I thought of Saiyans flying around via a warped definition of chi.
  23. Most movies just don't appeal to me anymore, at least the ones coming out over the last 5 years. Between Michael Bay mutilating my childhood franchises and all of the tired, cliche comedies and dramas, its a pretty sad landscape. I'm a huge Marvel fan and I am even getting sick of the superhero "genre." All of that said, there is a single movie I will be completely excited about in August.... Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. End of my story, haha.
  24. Parks and Rec is the right choice over the majority of shows
  25. I will concur and say I loved the entire miniseries as well. My only gripe without getting to spoiler-ish is how Malvo's final situation went down.
