  1. Not gonna lie, the first thing that comes to mind when seeing the Seahawks dumping all of these points on Peyton and company immediately brings to mind him dropping seven TDs on us in a game we shouldn't have even been playing at that exact time of the year. Feels pretty rewarding for someone still holding that grudge (and I know im not the only one who falls into this category, haha).
  2. Can't stand any halftime show, its always garbage pop and for someone who doesnt listen to the radio, it never inspires me tobwatch. Good thing I got my dad's homemade hot wings and chili cheese dip to distract me.
  3. I'm about 2 hours away in the Tri-Cities, Bristol, TN to be exact. Most NFL fans around here are fans of these teams from most to fewest: Titans, Steelers, Redskins. So many Steelers fans here and in Bristol, VA you would think it was southwest Pennsylvania. I work in retail and occassionally I will see someone in Ravens gear but they're pretty few and far between.
  4. Slim. He isn't going to get offered what he is making this year by the Ravens and the team simply has other talent they would rather resign (Pitta, Art Jones, Monroe or Oher possibly, Torrey Smith in a contract year). I also think they like their young receivers more than paying Jacoby what he likely (and correctly IMO, he has developed well in his 2 years here from when where he was when he signed). Plus I think the team likes its young receivers like Marlon, Deonte, and Mellette when he is healthy. Throw in Tandon who has been a solid punt returner himself and Deonte who can return kickoffs and I would think the front office will move on with Torrey and company plus maybe some new draft picks next year

Because...REASONS! Haha, Mr Torgue cracks me up every time. The Randy Savage of gaming.

  6. Been revisiting Pixies' "Surfer Rosa" "Doolittle" and "Trompe Le Monde" the last few days, had almost forgotten howuch I loved Frank Black's...well I call it "uniqueness" and leave it at that haha.
  7. Yeah, the shoulder buttons on the ps3 could definitely have benefitted from some more "spring" I agree, any games that incorporated pressure sensitivity on those triggers could definitely be a problem sometimes. I just personally didn't have as many problems as others did with them. I do like how the ps4 controller looks overall.
  8. I had already viewed the controllers but it appears that Sony "solved" the gripes with their PS3 controller with the new one. I say "solved" because I've never once had a problem using one but I know lots of people complained because it was 1) "too small" and 2) apparently people had trouble with the convex analog sticks with grip. I understand the first gripe for people with large hands but never once have my thumbs "slipped" off of the analogs as the common complaint was. If you're hands are sweating that much while gaming, then something tells me its time to take a break. At least I wont have to hear that silly complaint anymore with concave analog sticks.
  9. Haha, I literally just bought The Mist used for $2 maybe four days ago Grim, hadn't watched it in quite a while. And I too enjoyed the new Thing film, particularly because it wasn't a remake but a prequel that led up to the events in the 80s' Carpenter version which is still one of my absolute favorite horror movied.
  10. ] name="PuRock" post="1513985" timestamp="1373644236"] Have you seen the 1972 b-movie Frogs? You've almost nailed the plot. Stars the rough Sam Elliott (who ironically is cleanly shaven in this movie). Haha too funny, I had no idea. Flaccopoe, how about....."Taipanphoon".......a monsoon of epic proportions pummels the coast filled with one of the world'sost venomous snakes! Now only Samuel L. Jackson has what it takes to stop them...
  11. I'm awaiting approval fron Syfy for my screenplay for a sequel: Hurricanetoad. Hear me out now...the setting Australia...a massive storm sweeps onto the Aussie west coast dropping millions of Australia's worst introduced pest in a maelstrom. Now its up to Australia's leading herpetologist and a world champion surfer to stop this toxic menace before Australia is overrun by amphibians...
  12. Yesterday I thought to myself: how much cooler would I have been had I been listening to Rocket From the Crypt's "Scream, Dracula, Scream" in '95 instead of say. Third Eye Blind's s/t album? Hahaha. Not to say that was a bad album but Rocket From the Crypt always ROCKED. Unfortunate that I only got I to them a few years before they broke up and never got to see them live.
  13. I agree. I guess with that cast I unfairly expected a masterpiece and merely got a 8/10 type movie. Still a lot of fun. I did see In Bruges back when it came out and definitely enjoyed it. Its been about 5 years though so I need to revisit it sometime. Pretty similarly styled movies now that i think about it. For some reason I had completely ignored the fact that the same writer/director was responsible for both until I saw it mentioned on the Seven Psychopaths sleeve.
  14. Finally got around to buying Seven Psychopaths as I hadn't watched it since I saw it in the theatre last fall, such a fun black comedy. When I saw the trailers last year, I was sold on the cast as a huge Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, and Woody Harrelson fan but then I realize Tom freakin' Waits in the cast and it became a no brainer for me to go see. This is somewhat strange logic, haha, but seeing as I own and love the movies recently discussed in the last few pages of this thread by you guys (Snatch, Jurassic Park) I highly recommend Seven Psychopaths if you haven't had the chance to see it.
  15. Ahmad Brooks of the Niners may be in some trouble with the law after apparently breaking a beer bottle over teammate and former Raven Lamar Divens' head last month. Apparently Divens was concerned about Brooks ability to drive while intoxicated and the scuffle broke out over Brooks' keys with Brooks apparently proclaiming "do I need to get my (expletive) gun" before assaulting poor Lamar with the beer bottle. Two other unnamed Niners apparently gave statements confirming as much.
  16. Haha, just read that snippet and need to point out that it wasn't just some employee peddling that line, it was Don Mattrick, president of MS' s Interactive Entertainment Business division. On that note I found this amusing mockup someone at dorkly.com did and found it hilarious. Warning, there is some obscene language in it, I.e. a lot haha. http://www.dorkly.com/article/52521/don-mattricks-first-draft-of-the-xbox-one-update-announcement While "mattrick" is not wrong on anything here, the mockup I think sort of exemplifies Microsoft's attitude at times over the last month or so.
  17. Therein lies the reason I've never been a real Superman fan. Objectively I thought it was enjoyable, was worth the six dollars I paid to see it anyway. Would I see it again or buy it, not likely.
  18. Having seen both and being a much bigger Marvel comics fan than a DC comics fan, I loved Batman Begins much more, though both are good movies, just my IMO. As far as being aired on cable syndication though, yeah they've run Batman Begins into the ground the over the last few years.
  19. Honestly, the only casting I didn't really care for was Michael Shannon as General Zod. I've only seen him in a couple of other things but he always has this, I don't know how to explain it, "stiffness" when he speaks, like his mouth was recently glued together and it only started wearing off about a week before he shoots anything, haha...maybe its just me. Otherwise I loved Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Superman and Lois Lane, both did a really good job (although that kiss towards the end of the movie just seemed like one of the most awkward movie kisses I've ever seen). Russell Crowe did a good job as Jor El (not really a big Crowe fan apart from a few movies like 3:10 to Yuma, etc) as did Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Mr and Mrs Kent. I've always like Laurence Fishburne but his character was just kind of there, haha.
  20. Just saw Man of Steel last night. I have nevr been a Superman fan, just haven't so shoot me. But it was a really well handled movie that was a lot of fun. They do a great job of exploring Superman's origins with lots of background on Krypton and Kryptonian civilization at its downfall. Pretty well cast for the large part, my only real criticism is that at times there was so much wanton explosions and destruction I thought I might have accidentally bought tickets to a Michael Bay movie. I suppose when you have multiple Kryptonians involved, its just too hard to resist. This isn't a spoiler if you know anything about Superman but towards the film's conclusion, Superman and Zod fling themselves into orbit and not even the Hubble Space Telescope is safe feom the carnage, haha...apart from that, a pretty good flick overall and as I said, I'm not a Superman fan if someone is looking for a non fanboy review. Also, Prometheus was great, easily a 8.5/10 movie for me though I am a huge Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3 (directors cut only) fan so take that as you will. Also saw it mentioned 5 pages back or so and can confirm, Moon is a spectacular movie. I had always liked Sam Rockwell but this movie catapulted him into my list of favorite actors, an incredible performance by him. When you're essentially the only main cast member, your performance has to be good to sell the whole story and sell it he does, I highly reccommend it.
  21. That's awesome, dunno how I missed that announcement.
  22. My brother and I used ro play the crap out of those first two Battlefront games. It would be nice if another studio picked up the franchise, it would be even better now as multiplayer in general has come a long way since the first two were released.
  23. I have to agree with this. I've owned the NES, SNES, N64, and have played the regular Wii quite a bit and Nintendo always has made pretty solid games. They are no less a video game company than Sony or Microsoft. That said I agree with both of your sentiments, I really enjoy having some semblance of characters, plot, and writing which is probably why I don't have a Wii (as not all but many of its titles areore casual games) or play "social/casual" games and why a lot of the games I play are AAA big studio titles.
  24. I think for a lot of people who have a problem with connecting their single player game every day isn't so mucb because of unreliable internet connections. To me, I would be paying $60 for a new game and I can see registering a game upon the first time you put it in your console. But to need me to need to confirm within 24 hours every time I play my game is a bit insulting to insinuate that you Microsoft are more worried about me pirating something I paid hard earned money for than being able to just enjoy the purchase. Just my opinion, but one I think a lot of the more casual consumers may share.
  25. I haven't played Xbox since the first one really, does Xbox Live's Gold membership offer free games? Just curious because I've never heard any of my friends who have 360s mention it. PS Plus has been doing it since its inception a couple of years ago.
