I can tell you the 2012 and 2014 defense were not the reasons for the Ravens making the playoffs.

offense in 2012 ranked 16th defense ranked 17. Go figures the year the offense steps up they get hot in the playoffs and win a super bowl. in 14' ravens offense ranked 12th defense ranked 8th.

Do you really think Eli Manning makes the HoF without two rings? Do you think Bradshaw makes it without his playoff success? Do we think Montana or Brady fight for the best quarterback ever title without their playoff success? Do we think Ben makes it without his two rings and three SB appearances?

It might be a team effort, but it matters with quarterbacks in the eyes of just about everyone.

What I'm telling you is, he won't make it to the playoffs without the defense success in order to make the playoffs you need to do well in the regular season. People should be thanking this Ravens defense for all these years of carrying our offense. Including this year.

Still waiting for that ring though. With all he's got and how much you talk him up, what's his excuse? Seriously, though people act Joe has all that he could possibly have to throw for 4000 and 40 TDs, when let's face it, you should've expected this offense to flop. Not much has went into. Not much has produced from it. You could point the one time Perriman got open when there's more times he wasn't. To quote Rich McKay "When you're in a mess, you're stuck in a mess. One player is not going to get you out of it." We could waste all of ten to who knows how long trying to find hall of fame quarterback, but your offense won't get far with a motley crew.

Oh the super bowl ring? the same one that Trent Dilfer has. People keep pointing to team achievements to defend Flacco. If you asked 32 GM's who you would want Flacco or Ryan and they would chuckle at you. I know its too late now but I wished the Ravens traded up to get Matt Ryan, I know they wanted to but the cost was to high. And for you to say the one time Perriman gets open. I can show you how often Joe misses wide open receivers throughout his career. I have NFL Rewind and you can watch coaches tape from the sky's view. Flacco is vastly overrated to me. Yes he doesn't have the best supporting cast, but does Phillp Rivers have a great supporting cast? The Ravens offensive line has been bad and so has the Colts o-line yet Luck still produces way more than Flacco does. I'm tired of the excuses for Flacco, I want results.

Matt Ryan has far more to work with on his offense, but you are correct that right now he is playing better.

Matt Ryan hits open receivers way more often than Joe does. His ability to read defenses and react to what he sees is on another level than flacco. Timing, confidence, and moving in the pocket are again on another level. The reason I bring Matt Ryan often is because i get mocked for saying hes a much better QB than Flacco.

Perriman definitely struggles with press coverage and he's going to have to greatly improve his footwork to really take his game to the next level, but I just posted this...

I would like to see Joe hang in there a half second longer and just lay some throws out there for his receivers. There were several times in Sunday's game where the receiver would come open at the very top of their route, but Joe felt some phantom pressure and pulled his eyes down or rolled out and stopped looking downfield.

After seeing the game live, yeah, it is totally true that the receivers aren't totally helping, but Joe is also not helping himself at all by not standing in there and not trusting his receivers more.

Perriman had a couple steps on the steelers DB for a TD, and guess what? Joe over threw him...

  6. Like I always say Flacco needs the receiver to make a big play like mike wallace did today. He had Perriman for a big play vs the steelers db 1v1 and he over threw him. Without that one big play which mike wallace created with his speed and stiff arming the safety this is another bad game for Flacco. Yet I will hear how its everyone fault but Flacco. Joe is not hard to read, you send pressure at him because it takes him a little longer to read defenses and he also doesn't trust his receivers on timing throws. He has to see them open before he throws it. He also has bad pocket awareness which creates sacks for the other team because he will simply not have a feel where the pressure is coming from and he will actually move into it. QB's

It it were anyone else(read Webb, Smith, etc.), or a talented QB on another team the talk would be "oh, Joe is only 11 months removed from a major knee reconstruction, he may need some time to get to 100%".

I am not saying Joe is not tough for coming back from that injury, but its really asinine to compare Cornerbacks to QB's as far as coming back from an ACL injury. Do you know the amount of cutting and running at top speed cornerbacks do in one game compared to QB's? I also remember Phillip Rivers playing with a torn ACL against the colts in the afc championship game a while back in the playoffs as well.
