We just re-signed Guy! 2 year deal
Per Aaron Wilson
Ravens have maintained interest in potentially bringing back defensive lineman Lawrence Guy, according to sources. He visits Jets Thursday
One possible low-key FA signing we could make is DT Barry Cofield, who was cut from the Redskins.
He's 31 but was good at pushing the pocket and run-stuffing prior to numerous injuries this year which will leave him inactive until about June. We could sign him to a 1 yr/2 yr cheap deal for vet experience on the D-Line and good value with the losses of Canty and Ngata.
Scott Chandler and Marshal Yanda were teammates at Iowa (both drafted in 2007). Chandler could be a similar signing to Owen, except with more height and blocking ability.
What about Brandon Browner?
Per Jeff Zrebeic,
Owen Daniels visiting Broncos today.
Steve Smith will likely retire after this season. We need that veteran presence that will be there once he's gone. Andre Johnson gives more than just that. This is a no brainer.
Stevie Johnson appears to have been released. He's 28. Thoughts?
I don't see how we shouldn't discuss every released player. We never bring in UFA's (at least high profile ones). Every released player is an option.
S Tyvon Branch just got cut by OAK. We should give him a chance here. When healthy, he's effective.
S Thomas DeCoud just got cut by the Panthers. Could be good vet addition with Stewart and Miles as FA's.
One potential CB option is Jonathan Joseph (HOU).
He is a likely cap casualty due to having a high cap number in addition to the Texans wanting to re-sign Kareem Jackson.
A vet at 30 years old, Joseph could provide good depth/competition and an experienced presence in the future with Webb likely gone in 2016.
Bill Musgrave hired as Raiders new OC
Jeff Zrebeic reports that the interview is taking place right now
When could we hear something?
Another consideration - Jim Hostler as QB coach. Bills are bringing in whole new staff. Hostler has coached both WR's and QB's before (Alex Smith in San Fran). Has good experience overall with O. Players like him here
Maybe Wade Harman makes a return as TE coach. His job as Falcons Assis O-Line coach looks to be gone with new staff coming in.
Doesn't really matter. Seems like every coaches on ravens are being promoted to HC every year. He'll leave soon as he uses us just like every other coaches that comes here and bounces out soon as they get the chance.
I'd rather have a top notch OC every year who leaves than a subpar one who nobody wants. We can't hire conservatively based on fear that the person will leave. Continuity is important yes, but so long as the overall philosophy remains the same - I don't see a problem.
No needs to interview
Yes, I meant after the interview
If Gase is hired, I'd like to bring in Broncos TE Virgil Green - good run blocker with receiving potential
You guys think he'll be hired tonight?
Would anyone like Trent Richardson (likely cut) as depth/competition at RB? Perhaps he could turn things around in Baltimore. We seem to like giving chances to former 1st round pick FA's.

2 OC notes: 1. When #Jets find a new OC, it’ll be someone who values the TE & run game. 2. Keep an eye on Greg Roman for the #Ravens job.
