  1. They are enamored by him cuz we had the #1-#5 defense thru out the year. Our secondary was much better than last years. Our biggest problem was our pass rush. Not so much the players but the way it was set up. We kept getting in each others way. Yes but pees' defense stats are like fantasy football QB stats, they are garbage. It means nothing except fantasy unless you win the games. Even the super bowl his defense gives up leads late. I partly agree. A top statistical defense does mean something, but only if it backs-up those statistics when it means the most - in the 4th quarter with the game on the line. At those times the 2016 Ravens defense have probably lost more games than they saved.
  2. I agree, that way we can become more like the Browns......
  3. Best way to help Joe (or ANY quarterback) is to improve the line, find receivers who can get open and will ATTACK the ball.
  4. It's all Joe's fault? Sure, like Joe didn't lead a comeback drive to take the lead with mere minutes (or less) on the clock, and our defense couldn't make a stop - NOT. Joe did more than enough to win against Pittsburgh, Giants, and Redskins, and that's just off the top of my head. Does Joe need to play better, faster, smarter? YES. But on a position-by-position basis, we have greater needs at D-line, pass rushing, inside linebackers (who often can't get off blocks and can't cover), cornerbacks, safeties, center, receivers, returners, and probably even tight end (Pitta may be a really good big receiver, but his blocking SUCKS).
  5. Perriman: I compared him to Torey Smith, except he was bigger, more aggressive, and even slightly faster. That's the player we drafted. No one could have predicted a knee injury, or how long it may take to heal. I assume they did an MRI, but even then there's a little guesswork as to how severe a partial tear may be....and the prognosis for healing.
  6. If you have good coaches, other teams don't want them. I don't want to have crappy coaches that no other team wants.
  7. Dang, jravens13 makes way too much sense and is spot on!
  8. Pay him - YES. But the cap does put severe restrictions on the process. I for one thought we did the right thing letting Tory Smith walk rather than overpay a receiver who couldn't run routes and didn't fight for the ball (and who'd have known Perriman would be hurt in preseason). I was also skeptical of the relatively big contracts we gave Rice and Webb. It's real easy for fans to just say "pay up", but we don't have to balance the books.
  9. Don't think drafts have been as bad a SOME (not all) think. 2015 - too early to tell. 2014 - CJ Mosley, Gilmore, Urban, Urshel; still early but early indications are this was a good draft. 2013: early rounds (1-3) were poor (Elam, Brown), but later rounds (4-6) are shaping up as pretty good. 2012 - no first round pick, and KO in 3rd round. I'd consider this a average-to-good draft. 2011 - a darn good draft 2010 - VERY BAD DRAFT, given no first round pick and Kindle in 2nd, 2009 - Average to good 2008 - Flacco, Rice, Zbikowsky....a very good draft.
  10. Flacco is quoted as saying "it [salary neogations] is out of my hands". Kelichi O. was quoted as saying the same thing. BS! The players have full control of the negotiations, they just don't have the honesty to admit their ONLY priority is getting the max money they can.
  11. I see and hear frequently of how poor the Ravens played BEFOR Smith and Flacco were injured. Left out is the fact that they essentially ;lost 5 STARTES plus 3 primary backups by the end of GAME ONE! (starters Perriman, Pitta, Suggs and Monroe; primary backups Campanero, Elam and Taliafero).
