  1. I did not buy into Bosa before the combine, and one of the reasons, which is his speed, became apparent. He is not explosive, he cant press the edge and he will get eaten up by pro tackles. I think Bosa would be a waste of a draft pick and another one we will look back on in two or three years and ask what was Ozzie thinking. There is no doubt the Ravens will hurt themselves if they draft Bosa because they will have wasted a draft pick. It is tough to remember pass rushers who came in year 1 and dominated but there are corners and safeties all over the league who rocked their first year.

so you thinking a trade back,

Agree, I'd be more excited with apple and Jack.  Our coverage would improve drastically

    Applejacks

too funny, you are becoming the master of names

I am a big fan of ELI  and I know you are a fan of jack "apple jacks"

eli we would have to come back into the 1st as he is mocked to the squeelers in many drafts

    I want a big CB

My favorite CB at the moment is Eli Apple. I really like his game. Followed by Alexander.

Apple is being mocked towards the middle to end of the first. Wishful thinking to say he may make it to our second pick because that simply won't happen.

I am a big fan of ELI,  big upside with him, did he run his 40 yet,

Still believe that Peyton is going to hang em up. RGIII is not a solution for anyone at starting QB. I still think the Rams are going to want to (re)start their franchise stint in LA with a young QB of the future. Question still remains as to whether they 1) view any QB in this draft as that guy and 2) are willing to pay the price to move up and get him.

There just aren't a lot of QB options floating around at the moment.

did he have a history of being injury prone, or is this a 1 time thing (I know it is severe).

So, reading the tea leaves from Ozzie/John in the last 24 hours or so, lets play this out...

    1. Ozzie said Webb is a starting safety. Fine, that's been assumed. Lets presume that he's the starting FS, and Lewis is either benched or cut (likely the latter), and Webb starts next to Hill.

Draft spin: Does this take us out of the equation for Ramsey if hes available (though likely won't be)? What position would he play if we drafted him? Start as a corner, maybe switch to safety after a few years? Does it make Hargreaves or another corner as the more likely person to be drafted?

    2. Aggressive offer to KO to be our future LT. Lets assume a deal gets done, and we cut Monroe.

Draft spin: Pretty much takes us out of play to draft an OT in the 1st round, unless we plan on starting them at RT long term and letting Wagner walk after this season

If 1 and 2 both happen, haven't we sort of narrowed our draft window a bit? Could still take Ramsey I guess, but probably be several years before he starts at safety, and OT is largely out of the picture. Doesn't that bring us back to three positions... pass rusher, WR, or Corner?

buckner/spence then boyd in the 2nd,, I do like eli apple but I know he will go in rd1

Possibly, but I don't see how you squeeze KO and Tucker under the cap without that $2M from Monroe NOW plus other cuts.

Plus it depends on what happens with Pitta in the coming weeks/months, as I think he'd be more likely to get the Post- June 1 tag.

something is being played out behind the scene

In all honesty, pending health of course, there's no reason we shouldn't have a better passing attack in 2016.

Again, this includes healthy but you get a deep threat who, when comparing college tape since that's all we have, should NOT be any worse than Torrey.  Honestly, Perriman's floor should be Torrey from 2012.  I'm still not big on Aiken but he's proved he can play the #2 role at least so that moves SSS to that slot receiver spot.  If Campanero shocks that world and stays healthy, he can play the slot on occasion with SSS opposite Perriman.  Then we have a slew of WRs that can play the #4, #5, and #6 roles well enough.  Butler, D.Brown, and I'm still hoping for something out of Waller.  And this is all before they add someone, likely in the draft.  A Sterling Shepard will do damage in an Antonio Brown type of way although a Tyler Boyd could just dominate at times

We have 4 good receiving backs at the moment.  Forsett, Allen, West, and Juice have all shown they can catch out of the backfield.

Then there's the TEs.  Boyle may or may not be cut but Williams started to come on at the end of the season and as of now he's still the future.  Gillmore will be coming off surgery but he's proven he can be hard for defenders to bring down.  His yac was pretty good.  If Boyle does stay that's 3 weapons at the TE position.

TLDR: It's really all on Joe.  The team around him will potentially be the best cast of pass catchers the Ravens have ever had as a whole.  There won't be a RB or TE that could sub in who isn't a passing threat, and that's what will keep defenses off guard.  Gone will be the days of Leach being in and you just knowing it's a run play

Thank you for saying what I was trying to say,

we have the potential of being a passing offense, possibly a high powered

now I am not saying we are, but all I am seeing is pass catching players,

    WR's , TE's , RB's and our FB,

now not being negative HARB say we are run first, yes, but we need to play the cards we have

    open it up,

Now I know this is probably at most a one year thing, but Andre Johnson is gonna be a free agent. He had a down year, and appeared to be in decline, but hey, who knows? Any chance we at least give him a look?

    too old, nope for me

You'll have to explain to me how you get 1 more 1St and 2 more 2nd...

    in MYYYYY dream scenario

of course there is a trade with with the  "RAMS" would help,

and it would only be 2 2nd round picks not 3 which means

decision; nope  I forfeit Darian Thompson,

    -1

  9. My dream scenario;

         1. trade back if given the chance

         2. Spence,  eli apple, tyler boyd and jaylon smith, darian thompson,

    that order, 1.1,2,2,2

no more draft picks. before everybody go crazy this is MY(mine) dream scenario

@GrimCoconut, I heard Phil Savage talk about this on 105.7. Now, he's been a very successful scout for a time and has inside information that you and I can only dream of. So, in a way I trust his information somewhat. Just to make it easy, go to the 8 minute mark and listen on. You'll understand why I made the comment about Harbaugh. This argument isn't so unfounded that you can summarily dismiss it as such. Here is the link to a discussion regarding this very topic. The whole interview can be rather enlightening to all the folks here I think. Take what you want out of it, but I think we need to have an open mind to why we aren't doing great like before. Here is the link:

    wow, that was very insightful,

the main thing is ST,I have always seen certain players on ST

ie; jimmy smith, CJ Mosley , to name a few

I have played on a college level, so I know people do play ST, but certain people DO NOT,

again not making this a bash HARB post, but maybe it is a reason our ST is so good(plus he is a ST coach)

he did say Harb was involved and wanting to know who can play ST,

Me personally give me some angry dogs,

I just looked more into on our scouting and found some interesting info, there's 2 big scouting (BLESTO and The National) organizations that give initial scouting reports to teams that are subscribed, and I found it interesting that we are one of only 5 teams In the league that don't subscribe to either of these, we do all the initial scouting ourselves, which could lead to us having very different views and rankings of prospects than most other teams.

who are the other teams , I like to know and see how they draft

Yes i know the draft position excuse has been beaten to death, and it does have some merit, but there are teams with the same situation as us that have dealt with it, the patriots come to mind BB built a darn good defense with players he picked up in the 20s of the first and second round.

for me this is a good read, thanks for putting it up

my thoughts are why many teams do hit on their draft picks,

NE comes to mind, they loose their 1st round pick and they will move around in other rds to find their guy

pitt will stand still and get their guy,

2 teams I do not care for, but their tactics show the confidence in the scouts

this draft needs to be aggressive and come away not with just starters but future probowl type players,

and I do know they have some busts they have drafted,

I'll admit I don't go too far in depth, mainly because it's really hard to find information about scouting but I might post it as a new thread later in the draft board once I do a little more research.

agree, I would hope you do post it, but get ready for many questions, lol

I think if we drafted a WR in rd 1/2 , we may start passing more often.

not saying we will abandon the run  but look at our FB juice he catches more than he runs,

I for 1 would like to see joe doing his thing

if everybody play as expected, imagine

BP on the fly , SSS/CAMP/AIKEN going across the middle , TYLER BOYD on a post , and our TE's, or juice

all I am saying is an aerial attack could possibly (praying to the football gods) be lethal.

oh, I left out the receiving RB, we crying about JOE throwing over 4 thousand he should be getting 5

I know , I hear you all now saying stop it or slow down

I think we will have the capabilities , we just need to focus
