A lot of articles mentioning a lot of names and very few of them end up being correct. Was Correa or Kafusi on anyone's radar last year as potential 2nd and 3rd round picks?

Thing is, with as many needs as this team has the Ravens can pretty much go anywhere with their first round pick and go best player available and fill a need as well. I am not sure if that is really a luxury, but the Ravens need to start nailing there top end picks again. Stanley was a step in the right direction but I don't think much of Correa. It was a confusing pick and makes me think it was a knee jerk reaction and the player they really wanted was picked off. I think they gambled that Myles Jack would drop to them.

Stanley was a home run hit, not just a step in the right direction. It is too early to say what his ceiling will be, but as far as his play and consistency through his rookie season, it is easy to see him as a more than adequate LT for many seasons. IMHO he will earn some Pro Bowl recognition in time as he has the talent and ability and good leadership from Yanda who is a model of hard work and consistency.

K.C. has not been given enough action for anyone to have a fair assessment of his skills. The fact they moved him to a new position takes time to learn, to adjust, and to adapt your instincts. It was unfortunate, in the fact K.C. did not see as much action. Given the recent news that Zachary Orr had to retire, it could very well pay dividends this next season. Even if they draft another LB having one that has experience in the system and is ready to step in is huge.

Kaufusi, I am optimistic about. I'm not expecting much as this point and will hopefully be pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't even have an idea of what to expect. I mean here is a player that most people had not heard off, but at least from size perspective looks to be disruptive. Back problems can be pretty serious so hopefully he is fully healed and ready for camp with no setbacks.

I agree with your assessment of Stanley. IMO, he will anchor the left side of our line for hopefully the next decade.
Again, I agree on Correa. He fell victim to John's special team demands and should get a shot at replacing Orr this year. he is physical and athletic. I could see him doing well there.
Kaufusi injury, I think was a broken ankle and not a back injury.

  2. Renner was cut a couple of times this season on and off the practice squad. He was out there for the league to pick up and in a QB starved league, someone would have grabbed him, if they thought he was an NFL QB.

He had a couple of nice minutes at the end of a preseason game against 4th team players.

  3. Schaub is what he is. He is a tough guy, who took a pounding and kept trying, but he is just not a good QB. He like Joe before him, has few weapons, and it got worse when Crockett hurt his back.

Schaub at times seems totally lost as to where the defense is in relation to himself and his potential targets. No need to kill Schaub on here IMO, as it would have been easy for him to tap out and get out of the game yesterday, but he kept competing.

BTW, James Hurst already has gotten one QB hurt and is working on another. Speed Bump is not good at left tackle.

  4. Thats because two of the Ravens wins came from bad kicks otherwise Ravens would be 2-9.

That is true, but the argument can be made the opposite way too. Had the refs not blown the call in inte Jacksonville game....had Will Hills good pick against Oakland not been overturned etc. etc. The Ravens are 4 and 7 no matter how they got there, good and bad breaks included.

To Quote Parcell, "We are what our record says we are."

  5. I am not one that wants to see us lose solely to get the draft pick, sorry, just can not hope for the Ravens to lose.

However, I think Harbs needs to play the young guys to see if we can find players that will help us go forward. Make something good come out of this season.

    Play Brooks over Lewis

Play Urban and Davis over Canty.

Use the last 7 games as a tryout for every RB and receiver on the team. Find players.

This season has been a big negative....evaluate players. Finding a player or two who will have a big impact going forward salvages something IMO.

  6. People please stop calling a man who has not yet taken his first snap a bust.

No doubt it is frustrating, that he has not played but if he can not run, he can not make a contribution.

The same people that are calling him a bust, without seeing a snap, will be the ones calling him a star on his first long TD. Neither is a fair assessment.

  7. JMO, but can we wait until Perriman plays at least one snap before we call him a bust. I think, the Ravens probably would like to take back the original day to day prognosis. Yesterday we had a radio host playing doctor. It is frustrating that Perriman is not on the field but like with any other injury, if the player is not healthy he can not play.
