You can contact players today, but can't sign them until Tuesday.
Oh, wow, yeah I forgot. For some reason I was thinking it was Friday today lol.
wouldn't all this contacting of these players be considered tampering though?
They are TRYING. They already offered a more than reasonable offer to Monroe. Monroe PREFERS to not take it and check the market out. What do want our FO to do??
Pay him the 10 mil he's asking. Its not easy to find decent LTs on the market. Its not like teams are just letting them go left or right, and if they are, usually teams with higher cap space snatch them up or would out bid us. Its not like they will have a chance at an instant starter out of the draft in LT. They are only about 1mil apart, so why not just pay the man his million difference and move on to the next stage. Its not like LTs are like running backs or receivers where there are an ample supply of them on the market that are really good. Unless we completely suck next year and get a top 10 pick, we will never get another JO unless we get lucky in the later rounds. So why not just sign the man who has proven himself this past season (atleast to me he has) and that way we have a good LT and don't have to try and find/battle with other teams in FA. To me, with the way GOOD LTs are hard to find in the market, 10 million is not overpaying.
Why does this team always seem to get the short end of the stick? You pay your franchise QB a lot of money to throw the ball and help the team win, and you can't even invest in a LT to protect the man? I wonder if Flacco is punching his fist through a wall right now knowing he will probably have another year of running from pressure and getting slammed to the turf? You have a chance to get a decent LT that we have needed since JO left, and we are just going to let him go, and go back to LT by committee? I say pay the man and get our QB some protection finally...
I hope they don't waste draft picks by letting him go. The first time the team has a proven LT since JO, and theres a risk they won't pay him what he wants. I say PAY THE MAN, we know what hes capable of, its hard to find good LTs in todays game, Flacco finally has a blindside protector and you paid the man 120 million, yet they might just let a proven LT go and have Flacco unprotected? Whose going to block for him? Oher? (HA), a unproven rookie LT?
I'm really starting to dread whenever FA comes around every offseason, for some reason we are always the pickings of the league. I'm beginning to hate the dolphins just for the fact they just throw money around to try to bring people in. Beginning to think the Dolphins want to be the Ravens and not the Jets wanting to be the Ravens.
Can Ricky Wagner play LT?
Receivers with hands like Boldin's and Pitta's are extremely hard to come by.
Edit: Whoever it is that lines up at TE and/or WR, just please catch the ball thats all I ask.
Fixed
Or should I say, whoever is one of Joe's targets...
If the cap really is $132 million then that means we have $21,677,225 in cap space before we make any cuts. After the inevitable release of McClain we'll have 24,877,225 in cap.We can keep everybody we want to keep with that much cap space!!!
If we would happen to cut Rice (not saying they would, just if it turned out he was in very deep trouble), is it true that I heard it would be 5,000,000 some against our cap? So would he just count against this years, or however long his contact is?
"I liked Kyle's work ethic, his attention to detail," tight end Logan Paulsen said. "You know how in chess you play someone who is really good and they can see a couple moves ahead. I always felt he could do that. ... One thing I remember is talking to [tight ends coach Sean McVay] and said, ‘Why don't we just run this?' He said, ‘It doesn't have answers if you get into a bad coverage.' But the thing about Kyle and his staff they worked very hard to make sure every play has an answer so you never in an awful look."
After reading this I'm voting for Shanahan. If he has all the answers, they he should be able to fix this offense
I think the one team I see going after Pitta would be the Patriots. With the Gronk situation of him always being injured, and not having Hernandez anymore, I could see them making a push to try to sign him.
You're hands probably aren't as big as mine. Depending on how the sticks are positioned during a game my thumbs would occasionally knock into each other. But I accept I'm not like most people in that area. I haven't had enough time with the Xbox One's controller to evaluate the reported complaints about the bumpers, but I will say it doesn't feel cheap and feels better in hand than the 360's. If there's something truly wrong with the controller Microsoft has shown that they will fix it. I mean they got rid of The Duke, and that was one of my favorite controllers.
I still disagree that indie games are going to push the major developers. The main problem seems to be the cost of making games right now, but I think a lot of it also stems from the people in charge who are business people who don't understand gaming. The corporate leadership situations in this industry and the movie industry is not dissimilar.
Yeah I have small hands and stubby fingers, so I probably won't run into that then,
Got my hands on a PS4 controller, and it is an improvement, albeit not as large as I was hoping. They'd be better served by offsetting the sticks like the Xbox controller. The sticks can still interfere with each other. But holding it felt much more natural and the triggers were improved.
How are the sticks intefering with each other on the PS4 controller? I haven't run into that yet? Honestly, after gaming on a 360 for 8 some years, I like the layout of the PS4 controller a lot better. The mirrored sticks feel more natural with hand/thumb placement and use, than when I used the 360 controller with its offset sticks. I guess everyone has their own preference though. I've heard some negative things about the One's controller. How its smaller, feels cheaper, its a step back from the 360 controller, etc....
As for Indie games, I'm happy to see more games out there that are new, fresh, and different. Maybe it will be the Indie games that provide new fresh games for the future, since no other developers can come up with something new. Frankly, the racing/shooter genre is getting stale. I know you can only do so much with it though. I find myself starting to turn to Indie games now, because its something different and it gives me a break from the other stale genres. Also, the indie games could be the ones to provide that new gameplay/innovation that gets into these AAA titles.
Gamestop wants $100 down which is what I did but places like Best Buy and Toys R Us only want $25 and $20 respectively.
Also, Amazon doesn't charge until the item is actually shipped so you wouldn't pay that price until the PS4 releases.
If you order online at best buy you don't need to put anything down, they just put an authorization on your credit card then take the money when it ships, you can then just have it ship to store...
Im curious if he's allowed to. Im sure he is. He also said he would if he wasnt playing for us so...........
I would think he would be able to after he signs the deal, or maybe after a few days after he signs the deal. I'm sure theres a small waiting period...
well i don't think they would mind losing one pick that much. they have like 14 more picks this year
True, but losing a draft pick is losing a draft pick, no matter how many they have. It would be one they could trade to another team in a deal.
What a piss poor move by the front office.... Flacco got what he wanted being the highest paid player in the league in AAV so now he's going to have to deal with the consequences of seeking that payday...
Maybe just maybe if Flacco was willing to sacrifice a little for the team others would have followed suit. Flacco said the usual buzz words, like it wasn't about the money but respect so how can anyone expect any other players on the roster to not seek the highest payday.
Welcome to the new Ravens... I have zero interest in watching the Super Bowl video .
I hope Boldin gets a few rings with the Niners.
How is this Flaccos fault? The mans cap hit is only 6 million this offseason. Its not like its 20 million. Flacco even said he didn't want to hurt the team this offseason, and he didn't in my eyes. The ravens were already in the crap shoot for CAP hits before they signed Flacco. While your at it, go blame Flacco for everything else...
This wasnt his choice, dude. Relax. He can still retire I think.....
I would laugh if he ended up retiring now and end up screwing the 49ers out of a draft pick...

After getting Tate, I don't see a need for the Lions drafting Evans, so I'm still holding out hope...
