Joe is playing bad even when he has time. Bad throws and bad decisions. I'm a Joe supporter, but the offense as a whole is playing bad. I would give one exception and that is mike Wallace.
6 minutes ago, Florida Ravens Fan said:Honestly...yeah I would be ok with it you know why? Because those stupid penalties are causing us to lose games. If it's going to help correct the issue then why not.. So just keep letting do stupid penalties with no consequence?? What would you do as a coach to help correct this? Curious.....
Penalties isn't why we are losing. Our offense is just plain terrible
I think Joe shoulders most of this loss. I just don't understand how he squanders so many chances. The defense is the only reason we are in games so far this year. The only bright side to these three and outs is I get to watch a good Ravens defense. Even with pivotal players out.
11 minutes ago, January J said:So your sayin Dixon will be inactive then?
No, I'm saying we carry 4 running backs this week.
Not sure how Buck who has averaged 4.4 yards a carry becomes an odd man out. Tali is added mostly for special teams, but I don't think we should be surprised to see him in the backfield to see how he holds up in pass protection. If he blocks well and runs well he could find himself in a good position.

Top 10 indicators
1. Your FB dives at LB ankles when lead blocking on the goal line. (Leach, O Neal, Gash would not ever do that)
2. They pass the ball close to 65-70% of the time. Tough teams love to impose their will
3. They dominate no one!
4. Lack emotional leaders. No one looks pissed off after 3 straight losses. They are accepting losing.
Where is the fire?
5. In short yardage, they try tosses and trickery instead of hat on hat blocking.
6. No Dawgs in the locker room.
Webb and J Smith (the 2 top paid DBs) automatically let Weddle be their leader before he made one play wearing purple and black
When Ray was younger, he didn’t let Woodson, Goose, McCrary or even Deon Sanders walk in the locker for him to follow.
7. Ravens have a finesse approach to the offense line.
Ravens used to have guys like Zeus, JO, Mulitalo, Searcy, Birk, and even KO. Tough means guys that knocked people off the ball.
Over the pass few seasons, they have too many guys like Shipley, Monroe, Oher, and Hurst. Too many wimps on that offensive line.
Only Yanda is a PROVEN, consistent tough guy. They got math professors blocking for the $20M QB, and RBs
8. No fear factor on defense. Lewis, Reed, JJ, McAlister, Goose, Herring, A. Thomas, Ngata, Pollard, Landry, B. Scott, Sharper, Hartwell, and C. Williams. The list could go on.
The Ravens use to have guys on defense that tried to knock people out or could make big plays. They were feisty, sometime knuckle headed, but intimidated people from being in the middle of the field.
Who scares you on defense? No one!
9. The best players are over 30 years old and most were drafted by another team
10. Soft players lack mental toughness and discipline
Soft players commit penalties because they are TOO WEAK to block so they hold,
TOO SLOW to keep up so they grab,
They DROP balls because they are more concerned with the hit than making the play
They attempt to tackle with their arms instead of giving up their body and wrapping people up.
They false start because the guy across from them has them scared and insecure
They need to get back to a hard-nosed, smash mouth, AFC North Football
Point 1. Duuude you seriously hit this one on the head. I like Juice in the passing game, but as a fullback you're #1 job is lead blocking. Leach laying Casey Hampton on his butt is what I look for in a fullback.
Point 2. Agreed. We look better when we play smash mouth football. This finesse offense is not us.
Point 3. Nope
Point 4. Totally agree! I was hoping Correa could be this guy, but it seems even his fire was put out with that lack of fuel rendering him completely ineffective.
Point 5. Let West pound it!
Point 6. This goes with 4 a bit. No one wants to lead.
Point 7. I will defend Alex Lewis here. The kid is tough as nails and has played exceedingly well.
Point 8. Well... With Suggs and Mosely out you have a point.
Point 9. Also true. Hadn't thought about that and now that I have it's pretty disappointing.
Point 10. Disagree here. I think we have some tough guys on this team. It's point 4 and 6 that kill it.
I agree that we need to finish drives with touch downs, but we aren't settling for field goals either. If we were we would probably be better than 3-3. Now I absolutely do not disagree with Harbs going for it on fourth when he has. He's challenging the offense to make plays to win games and they just simply are not. Regardless of the play call that's when players need to step up. The offense is getting beaten and out willed. With the amount of chances our defense gives our offense it's really not acceptable.

Yeah. I'll agree here. I liked Correa but not more than a lot of guys on the board
Personally think he lost his dog mentality when Joe the Franchise player ripped him a new one for being so aggressive. I feel like he's afraid to really let loose. You could tell me I was wrong if he was running all over wild missing plays, but he's just not playing with any fire. Flacco put it out and that's not Flaccos fault. What would happen his first offsides play on a big 3rd and 1? Would he be slow off the ball from then on? He needs to get over it and just go wild. If he blows it then ok he's not there, but his game is to go 100 mph like a mad man. He's not methodical or technical. He needs to stop trying to be that player and be who he is.
3 minutes ago, MTRavensFan said:I think you're right about Lewis. He was available if somebody else went down, I think they were just being cautious.
Hopefully. If Stanley can't go Sunday I'd like to see Lewis at left tackle over Hurst.
Honestly I'm more concerned with Lewis. He's our best left guard and I hope we get him back out there this week.
11 hours ago, PurpleCity5 said:Outside of two bad penalties, he actually had a solid game, it was Jensen and Hurst who were the weak links yesterday.
agreed. We don't have a better center on staff. However, Stanley and Lewis clearly the best we are going to do on the left side. They improve every game. We need them back out there. I'm hoping Lewis was sitting to give him an extra week to recover and not because they think Jensen should be the starter.

I thought we couldn't use profanity?
10 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:To be fair to Moore, that slightly overthrown ball in the endzone targeting Moore was nearly intercepted and at least Moore was physical with the DB and broke it up so they couldn't intercept it. He is also pretty good on ST, too. He's a lot better from what I have seen than Aiken recently. I really like Moore as a gunner. He seems to be quick down the field and he can tackle.
As for the actual topic of Dean Pees, he's calling a great defense and the guys are usually executing. We'll see if it continues as it's still early. Based on the score, you'd think Carr killed us, but really it was the offense and ST that really flipped the script here today.
As someone who was very critical of Pees last year I honestly do not understand how anyone can blame him for today's loss. Pees is the only reason the game was close. We caused so many 3 and outs and the offense did nothing with them. yeah oaklands last drive he didn't do a great job, but the way the defense played they never should have been in that position.
1 hour ago, flynismo said:As far as Trestman goes, I thought he did a pretty decent job today. Today, it was all execution, or lack thereof. Absolutely no OC to have ever been in the league would have had much more success given the complete ineptitude of he entire offense today. This is the first time all year I've thought that way so...good job.
This should be hand delivered to each offensive player because it is right on the head. The offense hasn't come to play. They were given chance after chance from the amount of 3 and outs our defense gave them. Offense was absolute garbage.
Until our oline doesn't play like crap I'm not willing to blame Trestman.
12 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:ill second that, webb isnt amazing at safety but he has been in position more often than not and isnt making bonehead plays, its no coincidence that as soon as webb got hurt they went right after lewis.
i just find it so weird that all of a sudden, when its time to protect a lead, they get down the field in the blink of an eye, i mean jesus i have never seen such a quick scoring drive.
The front seven weren't in Carrs face intimidating him like the rest of the game. When we made it look like we were going to come after him he was in a hurry to get rid of it, and we did all game. That drive though we didn't show him anything. We at the most sent four and only showed four. I think Pees made the mistake here, but he by no means lost the game. With the way the defense played and the way pees called this game, it never should have come down to that drive.
I don't see how anybody can call for anyone on our defense to be benched. Yes, Wright has given up plays.... To very good receivers. Wright has played way better than I expected and you all need to realize he is without a doubt the second best corner on our team.
1 hour ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Buck is a steady back. Idk why he was a healthy scratch, he's never looked bad even if he hasn't looked great. Ever since seeing his 3rd down ability I've never thought to myself "forsett seems like a good option for this 3rd and medium"
Honestly I am a fan of Buck. I think Dixon is a better version however and West is a slobber knocker. If Tali could stay healthy I'd love to see him get a shot. I think we have the backs. Zuttah needs to get himself together. Stanley and Lewis need to get back out there and keep improving. Jensen didn't appear to steal Lewis' spot today.
52 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:My gut tells me that the secondary was totally at fault for that drive, but I have to wonder... How did we absolutely dominate and then suddenly... Like a switch flipped. Did Shareece wright just suddenly get worse to the point that he gives up a whole drive almost on his own?
We didn't rush more than four guys that drive. Didn't even try to show more than four guys rushing. Carr felt no threat what so ever and played comfortably. That was defensive play calling. Now pees deserves credit for calling a heck of a game and the defense by no measure lost this game. They forced so many 3 and outs and the offense didn't do anything with it. Pees called one bad drive but the offense failed miserably multiple drives.
3 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I've known the line has been a problem but I've also said that you need guys who can churn out tough yards and that we stood no chance with forsett.
Turns out that just maybe... Forsett was the biggest problem. Even buck Allen was worlds apart from forsett.
This. With the way our line is playing right now we need pile movers. West showed he can get into a rhythm and Buck was getting push. If only we can do something about Zuttahs drive killing holding penalties
2 hours ago, PurpleCity5 said:Defense didn't do bad, but I would have like to see another turnover.
The offense put them in awful spots. Flacco needs to show better awareness on that strip sack, not to mention that awful punt return. Shareece Wright was awful and should be benched after this game. 5 TD passes given up in the last two games... He needs to see the bench.
Um no. Wright is doing fine. He's not doing great but I think if we start anyone else we see a lot worse.
Pees called an absolutely great game. All the way until the last drive. I don't blame pees for the loss however, that solely lies on the offense. They got the ball way too many times against the 2nd worst defense and didn't do anything
I honestly can't even say if the play calling was bad or not. The oline play was absolutely unacceptable and who knows how the offense would have played with decent oline play. They were killing drives with penalties. Wagner, Yanda, and Gilmore were the only ones blocking anybody. I almost would rather see Gilmore at left tackle than Hurst.

I wouldn't bet anything out of my wallet that the offense would have finished with a TD on that west run.
You know your offense sucks when your 300 pound defensive tackle feels like he's got to make a big play with the ball in his hands. Something tells me if he had faith in his offense he would've laid on it.
i agree though penalties aren't helping.
