i think what would happen is this...

base formation we would see webb/lewis at FS, with ramsey at SS, playing a hybrid/rover role

nickel and dime sets hill would step in at SS while ramsey slides up to CB and likely we ask him to press pretty consistently in these situations.

inside the 5 i think he is always in press coverage

preferably he would have disguised intentions on most 3rd downs, he is a guy who could create a lot of confusion and panic for offenses, the looming threat of him blitzing, sniffing out a screen, or jamming a wr into the bleachers will throw a wrench into the offenses plans pretty often, and thanks to his verticals and wingspan and top end speed, qb's likely wont throw deep on him unless they see him clearly beat, in which case hopefully our FS can do their job.

i think in situations where ramsey would play corner for us, jimmy could be trusted 1v1 on one side of the field, if he recovers from his injury he is absolutely that type of corner, this would allow for a lot of risk taking on the opposite side of the field, if we have ramsey and webb at FS making plays on the ball often then i like our odds to force some turnovers, webb may not be able to shadow guys anymore but i still love his ability to anticipate and play the ball.

In the safety/rover role do you have him in as a third saftey? If so is that in place of an ILB. If not, do we keep hill on the bench in base packages? Seems like a waste of one of our best players.

  2. So I see the two picks that people don't like. First one is Tread. I don't like it either really. At this moment though I can see why Ozzie would be excited to grab him. Many others I would like more, but this I mocked for how I might see through ozzies eyes. Hopefully in this scenario like many of you think, I am wrong. The second is Striker. I don't make the Buchanon pick so much because of style of play but size. I think Striker has potential to be a very good ILB. It would be a project, but a round four project player at ILB in my mind isn't so bad since we come away with a few. What draws me to striker is his athleticism and pass rushing. I honestly didn't think too much of him until recently so I understand the negativity in his regards.

Are you thinking we are resigning KO, no guard was taking in the mock draft plus no safeties pick

Also what happened to the second 4th comp

i think we find a way to resign KO, but if not I think Center is a bigger need than guard. I'd much rather have Urschel at guard. honestly I forgot about the Torrey comp.

Treadwell to the ravens has picked up major amounts of hype among almost ALL draftnik outlets. Lots of folks on the boards, lots of draft sites are all projecting it. I'm not sure I see it happening though, I think there are a lot of guys Ozzie would take over treadwell there

Yeah I don't disagree. I'd like a few other players over Tread personally, but I've just got a feeling.

  5. Round 1

    1. Titans- Laremy Tunsil LT. Not keeping Mariota upright ended his season, I think it will be addressed.

    2. Browns- Jared Goff QB. I want to say the Browns won't go QB, but how they are dealing with Johnny football. I think history repeats itself.

    3. Chargers- Ronnie Stanley LT. As Rivers nears his end they need to keep him healthy.

    4. Cowboys- Myles Jack LB. Sean Lee and Mcclain cant stay on the field. I see Jacks stock rising after combine.

    5. Jaguars- Joey Bosa DE. With Tunsil and Stanley off the board Jax just goes BPA.

    6. Ravens- Laquan Treadwell WR. He's grown on me. However I would prefer other players, I can see Ozzie jumping on Treadwell. That way if Perriman isn't what we hoped he makes up for it with a pretty safe pick in Treadwell.

Round 2- Kendall Fuller CB. I think he's going to be a solid starter.

Round 3-  Yannick Ngakoue DE/OLB. He's projected to be there, but to be safe we might want to trade back in.

Round 4- Eric Striker LB. He could be an interesting prospect at ILB. He's undersized, but insanely athletic. The Buchanon experiment worked in Arizona. Striker could be a similar type guy and could possibly be the heir.

    Round 4(trade)- Cyrus Jones CB.

    Round 4(Comp)- Evan Boehm C.

    Round 5(Comp)- Adam Gostis DE/DT

the Pro Bowl has gone from bad to worse under Goodell.  It should have stayed after the SB and AFC vs. NFC format.

I think itd be cool to do something similar to what the NHL is doing this year. Have division all star teams and do like a 7 on 7 tournament.

The issue I have with Coleman is the he dropped roughly 12% of his passes, I believe, and most of those drops that he had came when approaching or going across the middle. You talk about him playing in the slot, but he hasn't shown a consistent ability to win across the middle or even a route tree that extends across the middle on a consistent basis.

I think he'll be able to function fine on the outside, but I'm wary of him.

I'd feel much better about taking sterling Shepard in the third if he's there. I think his stock is going to rise going forward.

  8. I like the Murphy pick as well. Doesn't make us feel like we have to resign Wagner or desperately try to replace him in FA or in the draft that year. I think tackle is definitely a likely pick in the fourth.

Even with me being skeptical that Stanley will be there this is probably one of my favorite mocks

  9. It just depends on if Taliaferro can stay healthy, if so then I think he can make the roster, IMO he's better than West and Allen. If healthy then I'd put money on him being our No.2 pushing Forsett for a No.1 if he can only stay healthy. He's just that talented. I really like him and Campanaro, if both were healthy they would be huge contributors, but if you can't stay on the field, what use are you?

    +1000

I really hope both Camp and Taliaferro can get over the injury bug. They both could be huge for our offense if they could just stay on the field.

  10. I think you bring them all back and let them compete. I think you keep Forsett reguardless of savings, he offers explosiveness as a shifty RB which is an element we are missing. We have enough power runners with Allen, Talifero, and West, let them compete with each other. I think we keep Allen and Taliafero with West being the cut guy after camp.

Agreed. I think if LT can stay healthy he could be a number 1 guy. The thing with him though is can he handle a load like that. The games where he got a lot of snaps and was able to get into rhythm he looked great, but he just hasn't seemed to have the durability so if he cant stay healthy through training camp and preseason I can see west making it over him.

  11.

Buck is still learning the game. He makes himself small while entering the holes but lacks raw power and speed to separate himself from the serviceable bunch.

I think that is a very poor assessment. Buck's problem is getting lost in holes. It's when he's able to get through them and is able to use that lack of power and speed that he becomes dangerous. I saw Buck truck quite a few people this year and saw him run away from a lot too. His problem this year was reading his blocks and committing to hit the holes.

I don't think Buck is an every down back tbh so I agree with you there, but I think he can be very valuable in the passing game where he is given space to use those abilities that he has. If he can improve his between the tackles play then he may have a better argument for the number one gig.

  12. Yeah. He's special. In 3-4 years time nobody would question that pick.

This is true. I think a lot of us are looking for immediate impact at positions of need which is why this wouldn't come off as the most attractive pick. That being said it seems like an Ozzie move and I would not be surprised if that's who we get.

  13. Upon looking at Jack again I see a number of things; his pass coverage is REALLY great which is something we REALLY need and his tackling is solid, that's when the good things end; he's a undersized player in the sense that he struggles to get off blocks and may not be big enough to overpower players the way we think MLB'ers should. If he can recover from his injury, gain about 10 pounds of muscle and refine his technique I'd like him at #6.

Just as long as he's done getting cracked by QB's:

^THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE SMALL.

haha I remember that play. Logan Thomas is a big boy though so a freshman Jack get's a pass in my book. Jack was probably not even a full 220 at that time.

I think Jack is definitely a top 10 pick and I wouldn't hate it if we drafted him, but I don't see him being BPA at 6.

  14. I think fuller goes in the second and I think we actually grab him.

Honestly fullers position depends on the combine. If he goes and does as expected he's gone in round 2. If he doesn't go round 3. If he only does some drills, round 3. If he goes and performs poorly he could drop really far.

  15. From Matt Miller...

For example, I've spoken with seven teams (scouts, coaches or general managers) that have Mackensie Alexander over Vernon Hargreaves and Jalen Ramsey at defensive back.

If he goes before Hagreaves and Ramsey I'll be shocked. If he ends up being better than them, I won't be shocked at all.

I'm not saying I don't like Alexander. I'm just saying I think he will be around way after the number 6 pick. If we want him we could trade back and get him, but getting him at 6 doesn't work for me personally.

  16. The more I watch the film, the more I like Alexander better than Hargreaves or Ramsey at CB. You could argue Ramsey is a more talented prospect at S, but CB is more valuable than S. Plus, even if you take a player projected to go 9-14 at #6, thats not really much of a reach.

I do like him, but he really isn't proven enough to go in the top 20. He didn't play against the toughest competition. He could even slide to us in the second.

  17. I don't think we are in a position to make gambles in this draft. I think there are some safer options in the 3rd or 4th rounds if you looking to go the ILB route. I like Scooby Wright, Deion Jones, and I think Travis Feeney could be a mad man at ILB. He's quick and fast and very solid in coverage.
