  1. Drafting Perriman in the first round. Not that I don't think he is going to be good because I really don't know, but we could really use a contributor right about now.
  2. It's worse than that he was talking about Cordarrele(spelling?) Patterson. He would trade a third or fourth for...Patterson.
  3. So you'll trade the chance of getting a Brandon Williams, Carl Davis, Crocket Gilmore, Dennis Pitta, Juice, or MARSHAL YANDA on a cheap rookie deal for four years to get a back up for a year or two? I am so glad you are not our GM. Now a 5th or a 6th I would part with. I think Patterson is better than most of what we have on the depth chart, but I'm not willing to trade a 3rd or 4th for him.
  4. I agree the potential for injury will still be there. I was just thinking of him exploding and jamming those big guys is definitely not ideal for a hip which is where all that explosion comes from and absorbs all of the force from jamming those big guys coming at him. Just the nature of his injury and the position I think wide receiver is the lesser of two evils. He is still at great risk either way. If I was him I would be looking at any way to minimize the risk even if it's by a marginal percentage.
  5. I mean with the four tight ends we have I would rather keep four tight ends than 5 wide receivers. Tight ends can always line up out wide where as your not going to be seeing one of our wide receivers at tight end. Put the best players on the field and create some flexibility.
  6. As far as speed I would think he's probably comparable to boldin, but he's gotta be faster than Hines.
  7. Great post
  8. I love pitta and I really think we will undoubtedly need him following this year. Multiple ways I can see this going down and being a good thing. #1 Throw him at wide receiver. This will allow him to lose weight which will be less weight he's carrying around on his hip and not having to go against defensive lineman and linebackers all the time. In Jim Caldwells offense he played out wide a lot and that began conversation of him possibly going after wide receiver money as I mentioned in another topic. He would no doubt be better than Aiken or Brown. When we lose SSS we will need a possession guy. BP gives us the deep threat so they would compliment eachother. #2 Run double tight end sets all game long. With a rotation of Gilmore, Pitta, Maxx, and Boyle we will keep good fresh tight ends on the field at tight end. Our tight ends are better than our receivers so why not. If we run it consistently it will become a guessing game as to whether we are running or passing. The running game will benefit a lot from this and I think that will in return help the passing game.
  9. Why not just put pitta at wide receiver. In Jim Caldwell's offense pitta lined up out wide a lot anyway as. Because of that there was conversation as if he would try lobbying for wide receiver money. I think we should try him at wide receiver. Better option than anybody else and Gilmore and Maxx won't lose snaps
  10. I think Brooks has a lot of respect from the players which may make him the guy. However I think we need fresh blood to come in. I think we need a defensive coordinator to come in with no emotional attachment to any of these guys.
  11. Bud Foster at Virginia Tech. He has refused a lot of college jobs, but I'm not sure how many NFL offers he's had if any. Baltimore being somewhat close may make it possible.
  12. I'm pretty sure it's fairly obvious where to go in the draft. Our secondary is terrible. Joe may be making some bad plays, but I think it's b.c he's trying to force things to win. If you look at this season with that in mind Joe has proven he can get points on the board regardless the cast. Our secondary SUCKS. It needs help .
  13. If I read one more negative post about Maxx Williams I am going to scream. The kid is 20 yrs old he is not fat he just hasn't completely become a man yet. He reminds me of Jeremy Shockey in his early years at the U. Give him a few years to grow. Also he's on pace to out perform any rookie tight end we have ever had. Tight ends typically don't come out getting a bunch of yards. Gronk had like 500 his first year so I don't know what you expect. Gronk is a freak so I wouldn't expect those results, but I feel like that's what's being expected of this 20 yr old kid which is ridiculous. Maxx is going to be a GREAT tight end. To see him play this way at 20 is extremely exciting for me. Can't wait to see this grow and become one of the great tight ends in this league. Just don't make Gronk the barometer that's just not fair and unrealistic.
  14. Yeah I think he just has work ethic issues. I think he's realizing his physical talents aren't going to get him through every snap all game. Hopefully this season will wake him up.
  15. I think Urban would be more of an intriguing option for that. I think Jernigan is too slow. He is quick, but he's not running by anyone.
  16. Yeah exactly. And even though we had Ray Lewis Chuck Pagano and Rex Ryan had guys who wanted to play for them. Proven by the players who followed both of them. The coach doesn't just call the plays.
  17. naaahhhh. It's just too late to be doing anything like that. if we had managed to get to 3-3 i'd probably be a supporter, but right now we are just too far gone.
  18. I don't see Schwartz happening because of Jim Harbaugh, but I would like Bud Foster. I think you are underestimating what a coach with fire could do. That fire can be contagious and if the guy calling the shots is fired up and your guys want to play with that same intensity then people will step up. The leaders will start to pop up and calling shots.
  19. Our defense needs a leader with some fire who will get the defense motivated. we have had it in almost every shape and size Ray, Ed, Sizzle, Pagano, and Rex. All of them knew how to get he defense fired up. Our defense lacks that intensity on the field and what we need is a leader. I think firing pees is and getting a guy to lead this defense is what we need.
  20. I mean its not like their secondary is much better than ours, but yeah you would think after paying will hill and Jimmy we should be doing better.
  21. I just don't think pees knows how to stop the pass. Honestly I think we have more talent on this defense than some of the yrs that Rex was here. If Rex had this defense we would be top 5. For one he knows how to fire up his defense. If we cant have a lewis, reed or a suggs on the field to keep the defenses heart beating then we need a defensive coordinator that can. Pees is too ho hum. We need a coordinator with some fire
  22. The kid is 20 yrs old for crying out loud. Give him time and his body will mature. He still has some baby fat so I guess seeing him next to 25-35 yr old chiseled mature men he may appear to be fat. I assure you the kid is fine he's just a kid.
  23. Yeah, well we will no doubt be running against them where they bend a little bit more. I'm just saying we match up better with them than we do against Jax or Miami due to the passing game and yes their receivers will look like pro bowlers but hurns and robinson will look like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss
  24. NOPE. We just lost our identity on defense. Once we get that fixed we will be a winning team again.
  25. See what I'm saying now? Kearse is seattles number 1 wide out with the most yards on the team with 274(47th in the NFL). The Seahawks are probably our best bet to get a win this year with how we match up. Miami has two guys with more yards than Kearse, Jarvis Landry with 312 yards(33rd in the NFL) and Rishard Matthews with 363 yards(26th in the NFL). Jax also has two wide receivers with more Hurns with 460 yards(14th in the NFL) and Robinson with 488 yards(12th in the NFL)
