My bad. I didn't know that. I took the week off from football after last weeks game.
Pitta needed to beat 60 catches for a $$ incentive and play more than 50% of the snaps.
Both look like they will happen.
Is Joe afraid the throw the ball down the field?! This isn't just a week 17 thing. This has been a whole 2016 season issue.
It's actually pretty hard to complete 25 passes and only have 193 yards passing. Like, you actually have to try to make your YPA that low.
Joe Flacco is and always will be a middle of the pack QB.
Bengals seem to be sitting anyone worth of note in this game. It will be a game where the Ravens win by 20.
To the person who made this thread, pathetic.
The last sentence is also hilarious. "If we can carry Joe to the playoffs", the guys is getting paid $20 million a year. Should anyone be having to carry him to the playoffs??
Have to sign a veteran possession receiver. Neither Wallace or BP are trustworthy enough, have the route running ability or have the hands to be that type.

We played a Steelers team that was missing some key guys while we were a Jimmy Smith away from basically full strength. We could add in a Benjamin Watson since he basically was thought of starter at the beginning of the year.
We played the Steelers both times without Ladarius Green. Who else they were missing; Both DE's in Tuitt and Heyward (probably two of their best defensive players), Coates and DHB (not really big guys but play a role in their O).
And let's not forget that they have Golson and the major one in M Bryant who both didn't play this year. Honestly, their offense and defense have a chance to both be much better next year. That is scary. We don't have the defense to guard Bell, Brown, Bryant and Green. We only had to face two of them this past year.
In regards to this game, I agree, we played better than them and left them off the hook. But to say that this will be the same team that we play next year, is a vast understatement.
Going to need to get better. There will probably be no drop off at all from Pittsburgh, Cincy will come back and be competitive, I won't go too deep into the Browns. They once again have a ton of draft picks that they may or may not do something with. If they are able to find competent pieces, they could be competitive also.

Since Manning retired, guess they will do whatever to make sure it's Brady vs Ben and a team like us would spoil their party. Brown's momentum was stopped and the reach shouldn't have counted. If that's the case, then I guess when your tackled and down you can reach for another a yard or two and it will be legal.
Stop being a baby. We lost fair and square.
Said it earlier in the week, Steelers have a top 5 OL. When you have no one on your D line that can beat an OL on the other team, 1 on 1, blitzes need to happen to alleviate the pressure out on your secondary.
None of our blitzes worked and their offensive line shut down our pass rushers. This isn't the first game this happened this year. We have no good pass rushers on this team.
One reason that these coaches will play starters and play to win is that they could be coaching for their jobs. Players that are playing for a spot on this team or another team will play all out.
How about Steve Smith? It will probably be his last game ever. Who gets the job of telling him he's not going to play?
Bengals are placing a ton of guys on IR. I believe we win this game.

That is true. Add in his drug problems/suspensions. I highly doubt you see the Steelers offer him anything more than a couple years with some heavy stipulations built into the contract.
45 minutes ago, PuRock said:Well some good news is that the Steelers are probably going to have to invest a lot of money in their RB after the season. He's going to finish the season strong going into unrestricted FA. And he wants to be paid.
That will be the easiest franchise tag in the history of the league.
There's absolutely no way someone can throw out the excuse of injury. Everyone is hurt this time of year.
Yes Jimmy was out, but the Steelers are missing multiple starters on each side of the ball.
The game came down to our inept defense. This pass rush is horrible.
Looking like our only way is to win out.
What happens if the Dolphins tie?
How horrible and inept the offense has been all season. Some said in the offseason that this was the best group of skilled players the Ravens have ever assembled. Oh, how that turned out.
Defense is a good surprise. I will consider them the best in the league if they can perform these next two weeks.
I don't know how Tucker being perfect wasn't a surprise. He was terrible last year at long ones. Now it seems like the are almost automatic. Only problem is, he's been perfect and we are in close contested games even with him being perfect. If he has an off game, which then we'd probably lose because our O is poo, people around here would blame him for ruining the season. And that would be totally unfair.
No Jimmy at practice today. Probably is going to have to get at least a limited practice in either tomorrow or Friday to have a shot at playing.

But it wasn't Jimmy Smith that limited Antonio Brown the last time it was Tavon Young with safety help.
And the only way that it was possible for them to do this was because Jimmy locked down the other half of the field and received no safety help. Do you really want Wright or Powers to be one on one with no safety help?
It plays a major impact because now if you have to sit both safties in coverage that takes one more guy out run coverage. I don't need to tell you how their running game is and who their RB is.
Too many people act like Jimmy only affects the guy he's strictly on. It changes the whole way the defense can play because he's not there.

The other big issue is how poorly we have played on the road. It's becoming an annual thing with this team.
We are 2-4 on the road. Let's run down each game.
Browns: we could have easily lost this game. Browns imploded like they have all year. We're winning 20-0. We ended up winning 25-20 against an 0-14 team.
Jaguars: once again, came down to the final moments against another one of the worst teams in the league. Managed to only pull this one out 19-17. Jaguars are 2-12.
Lost to the Jets somehow who have been getting embarassed week in and out recently. They are 4-10.
Thats 3 teams with a record of 6-36. And we could of conceivably lost everyone.
The other three games were against actually good teams. Giants played them tough until Jimmy went out. OBJ torched us. Cowboys, played them tough for a half but they took over the second half on us. Patriots, the score was close but any sane fan can admit that we just got flat out manhandled. Was no where as close as the score. All three of these games were without Jimmy for some time.
But the problem isn't the defense. Outside of the Giants 2nd half, Cowboys 2nd half and 3 quarters of the Patriots game, our D has played well.
This offense has not shown up for any road game this year. If that doesn't scare people, I'd love to have their outlook on other aspects of life, too.
He couldn't put any weight on his injured leg and got stretchered off the field.
That may be being extremely cautious, but it screams "significant" injury to me. I'd be surprised to see him before the playoffs.
Just now, hn68wb4 said:I think anyone would, but that's not really the argument here. We're talking about the success of drafting of the current regime as compared to our, and they don't get to claim any QB hits in the draft right now since Roethlisberger was well before Colbert's time as GM.
Well if we can only take the current regime, it's not truly a fair argument to the Steelers since Colbert has only been around since 2010. Obviously Ozzie has had many years prior to that to hit on good players. If we took the argument since 2010, I'd argue some in their favor.
But it's pointless, it goes back to you saying that WR is the only position they draft better than us. I don't believe that to be true. But that's a matter of opinion. We can move on.
3 minutes ago, hn68wb4 said:I didn't initially include oline, reread what I said...
I don't particularly think either team is great at drafting RBs, we've both missed in that department many times, but we've never whiffed on one as high as Mendenhall. I'd be willing to give this one another pass.
I don't think QB should be in their favor at all, we're only talking current FO, it wouldn't be fair to award them the spoils of the previous FOs. They haven't hit on any QBs they've taken whereas Ozzie's got Flacco and Taylor both starting QBs right now. Sure with Roethlisberger they haven't had to take any very high but Landry has been abysmal.
Technically, Colbert wasn't the GM yet for the Steelers when they drafted Big Ben.
But either way, I'd take what Big Ben has done over Flacco and Smith any day of the week.

There is a better chance that we sweep the Bengals next year than the Steelers.
Steelers young defense will only continue to get better and their offense will have even more weapons next year than they did for our games this year.
Bengals are just going downhill quickly.
