  1. Well you initially didn't include Oline. I'd take theirs right now over ours. I believe most/if not all of theirs were drafted. May get flack for this but they are better at drafting RB's than us. They have had some very solid ones and Bell is already better than anyone we ever had (sorry Ryan Rice). I'm too young to know if Ozzie was around to draft Jamal Lewis. How about at QB? It's laughable if anyone says the Ravens are better at drafting QB's than them. Mostly because they have had many more years to hit on great ones. Can't really argue anything on the D side. Defensive line, we have both drafted very well in that area. Williams, Ngata and co. Are comparable to a lot of theirs in Heyward and Tuitt ( who's going to be a stud if not already). Im just arguing objectively for some of these. There's no way a team makes the super bowl 3 times in the past 11 years and don't have a good draft room. (This is more in terms of recent years)
  2. Everywhere else outside of WR?! Man, there's a bunch of people up in Pittsburgh that would argue that to the death. Even as a Ravens fan, I could argue more positions for them.
  3. If you understood what the initial poster said, then why are you needing us to explain to you that he was right?
  4. Yeah, you are correct. Like I said in the yardage post, I just took the overall game of the two that he left early. The numbers would be a whole lot worse if someone were to actually factor in the exact time he left and the total numbers from then. We could honestly be dead last in total yards and very near to last in PPG. But people say Jimmy isn't that important.
  5. Haha well you should have started out with that! I can understand where you are coming from now.
  6. So yardage they are the 30th best in team defense. In terms of points: Giants: 27 Cowboys: 27 Bengals: 14 Pats: 30 Eagles: 26 That comes out to an average of 24.8 points per game. That would put us at 24th overall. So without Jimmy, we are 30th in total yards and 24th in points given up. Couple that with our inept looking offense 90% of the time. You can see why it will be difficult for us to win both of these last two games.
  7. If you honestly believe that the Bengals would lay down for us just because they don't like the Steelers, I'm not sure what to say. I can guarantee you that the Bengals are going to have the mindset to try and ruin any chance we have at the playoffs. They will also be at full strength, unlike last time. Hopefully the Ravens are by next weekend also.
  8. The initial poster never stated that it dropped us to 27th overall, throughout the year. He said that without Jimmy on the field, those stats taken over the course of the year would make us 27th in the league.
  9. He missed so far this year: (for the games where he missed part of the game, I am just going to calculate the total game yards, which would actually help out the argument that they aren't as low as 27th) 2nd half vs. Giants = 435 total yards Cowboys = 417 total yards Bengals = 325 total yards 3 Q's vs. Pats = 496 total yards Eagles = 330 total yards So adding up these numbers and taking the average to figure where the D would rank without Jimmy, the average for all these games is 400.6 total yards per game. Now to see where that falls in terms of total team defense. Looking at the chart and the average yards team defenses are allowing a game, The Mom Gene is actually correct, we wouldn't be ranked 27th. We'd actually be ranked 30th. .2 yards ahead of the Browns D. And like I said above, the numbers are worse if you would look at it per quarter since the Giants and Pats went off without him in the lineup and I can't find a per quarter yardage output to make the analysis more accurate.
  10. Not sure what you are proving by this? The poster said that they were #1 with Jimmy on the field and games when he's not they drop down to #27. Posting a cumulative season long stat of our defense, which has fallen 3 spots without him actually giving his argument credence, does not prove or disprove his statement.
  11. Bengals played the Steelers to the wire and probably would have won if Dalton didn't play like he did in the second half. First half they were rolling on offense and that was without Green. They are getting him back this week so he should be all systems go by our game. I like to be an optimist, but I just don't see how we win both of these games, both on the road where we are not very good, without Jimmy playing.
  12. For all of the flack that their offensive line has gotten in the recent past, they are now probably a top 5 O line unit. They are carving out lanes for Bell and have only let up something like 17 sacks all year. We are probably going to have to bring pressure to win this game. Which, if Jimmy isn't back and he more than likely won't be, could prove very problematic for our secondary, if the pressure is not getting there.
  13. AJ Green is listed as doubtful for the game against the Steelers. But he will have just enough time to be 100% for our game in a couple weeks.
  14. No sign of Jimmy Smith again today. Thankfully Philly doesn't have the passing attack to expose this secondary.
  15. That's why people would like to hear the diagnosis of what happened to Jimmy. If it's a low ankle sprain, then he could be back by next Sunday. But a typical low ankle sprain can be diagnosed on the spot because the ankle usually folds over. Basically what you picture in your head as an ankle sprain and the video of the injury did not show that at all. If it's a high, there's not a chance he can make it back and it would probably be in the best interest of the team to not have him play. High ankle sprains are small tears to the ligaments that hold together the tibia and fibia. If he were to go out and try to play and completely tear the ligaments, that would result in a potential break in those bones and disalignment in his leg. Obviously both of those would take him out not only any games this year, but could potentially hinder next year also. A normal ankle sprain can be played through. Pop a couple pain killers and tape it well enough and a player can gut it out. You simply can't do that with a high ankle sprain.
  16. It seems like he was frustrated in Flacco having a poor practice. Hensley also stated it was the second or third time that Flacco missed him on a deep pass. And on top of it, Harbaugh was pleading with his players to leave it all out on the field. I'm not one to be a pessimist, but I think that they know the extent of Jimmy's injury and some of these players can feel the season slipping away. I'd be upset if I were SSS also.
  17. There isn't a chance in **** Jimmy is back for the Steelers of Bengals game if his injury is a true high ankle sprain. Its usually a 4-6 week injury which impairs the ankles ability to plant and cut. CB is probably the position with the most of that outside of WR/RB. Ill hold out hope, but until they come out with a proper diagnosis, I will believe what the professionals believed it looked like and go from there. I'd be surprised if we seen him before the playoffs.
  18. I know most are probably dreading the news, but we may as well start a thread for any news/info some may come across.
  19. We are a completely different team on the road compared to at home. Without Jimmy, I think we drop at least one more. Brown or Green are going to have a field day without Jimmy on the field. But if we lose one more, it doesn't matter who to, the Steelers are going to have to lose 2 of the last 3. We have to win our last 3 games.
  20. We are a completely different team on the road compared to at home. Without Jimmy, I think we drop at least one more. Brown or Green are going to have a field day without Jimmy on the field.
  21. Yeah, and that's good on him for admitting to it. Mistakes are bound to happen and he man'd up and said it was his fault. Im speaking to the crowd here that want Elams head for something that was not totally his fault. Granted I have no clue what he was suppose to be doing but he obviously thought he had help over the top.
  22. Everyone here is quick to blame our secondary players but never jump on our big guys. Weddle jumped a route on that Hogsn TD. It was mostly his fault for the TD. Not Elams.
  23. To everyone calling out Hester on one mess up, this game could have easily of been a Patriots win by 20+. While he deserves some blame, he is no where near the main reason we lost.
  24. Let's be real. Without the gifts from the Patriots, I would have been sleeping 2 hours ago. If Jimmy is out for the season, and it looked bad enough for it to be possible, this defense is in trouble. What would the Patriots of down if Gronk was healthy.?
  25. Not sure what the Dolphins did, but the Ravens are sitting in max zone on the Ravens. It's hard to run crossing routes against that. Typically you need receivers that know how to sit in the zone. Perriman and Wallace do not know how to do that.
