  1. This. Also, the Ravens have other options that are more experienced and better at this time. He may be the 4th option in the passing game. SSS, whoever the TE is and Forsett. I'll put my money on Forsett having more catches than Perrimen this year.
  2. Hopefully they are just updating their emergency list in case someone or multiple people get hurt. If they are signing a corner at this point in time, that has to mean that our corners are struggling mightily.
  3. I'm not even sure who Chris Cook is.
  4. Everyone on this board that is so high on Waller is ridiculous. I would put money down on him being inactive on almost every game day this year.
  5. So you want to discredit Brown who has actually performed in the NFL, and give his spot to Waller, who you believe will be better when he has caught about 50 balls in college? Sounds reasonable.
  6. I know we have a few new pieces that are learning the offense, but in terms of you saying that we are really young is false. In actuality, we have the 10th oldest offense in terms of age in the league. Most of these guys are veterans and should be able to show our few young guys how to practice and prepare, Schaub included. The Ravens being young should not be factored. (According to the below link) http://www.phillyvoice.com/all-32-nfl-teams-offensive-starters-ranked-age/
  7. There are too many items that just raise red flags to the normal and sane person. Like why he was able to provide two phones (one before the dates, I forgot the span of each instance, and one after the dates involved). I thought he destroyed each phone? I guess he only destroyed the one they were after? Tom said he provided all of his calls and text messages from the phone that he did have disposed/destroyed. Somewhere around 10,000 text messages in the span. And somehow 3 of them that were sent directly to the equipment manager were somehow not recovered?!?!?? Now come on. Who in the hell would actually believe that these couldn't be recovered when the other 9,997 could be? Also any person with reason can see, that something was said in those three texts that would implicate TB. I truly hope no one would believe otherwise. In a court of jurors, this would just send red flags up everywhere.
  8. Sorry to burst your bubble, but, as long as mass injuries do not happen, Waller will be lucky to see a handful of snaps, this season. He is way too much of a project at the moment.
  9. People are bringing up stats and obviously it really is the only barometer (besides the eye test) that you can use. Need to remember that these guys today are probably seeing A LOT more snaps due to hurry up offenses and fast moving offenses. Back in the late 90's and even early 00's, hardly anyone ran the hurry up.
  10. The backup D is shutting down the first O?! Yikes! I would like to see where you read that at. Def. not a good sign if this is happening. May be our offense is no where near where some of us on here expect this year?
  11. Running off of what you said, I agree with your assessment on K. Lewis. He had his fair share of oopsies in the back of Houstons defense. When the Ravens picked him up, upon reading scouting reports, that was the one thing that came up regularly. (Edit: by oopsies I mean lapses in coverage)
  12. I'm always worried when I read about tendinitis in aging players. I know back in my day, I had a bad case of tendinitis in my throwing shoulder and it took a year of therapy to go away. Also, having PT friends and hearing how long it can linger. Hopefully, Doom doesn't have a reoccurring case and he doesn't re aggravate his Achilles. Worst case scenario for our D (besides the exodus of all of our corners) would be for Suggs or Doom to get injured. That would kill our D IMHO.
  13. Only difference is, with Shazier, they were expecting him to be healthy and start all 16 games. With the acquisition of Boykin, Golson wasn't going to start. At least, I wouldn't think they would ever start him.
  14. Ravens medical staff fear that Elam has completely torn his bicep. Any chance they designate him as the one person they can use the designated to return I.R. tag? Or wait to see if anyone more significant gets injured?
  15. What I meant was, their defense was already terrible last year and they won the division because their offense is so stacked. It's near impossible for them to be worse on defense this year with the acquisitions they have made and also getting rid of their aging veterans who were just down right terrible.
  16. The problem is that their defense only has to be average and they will be good.
  17. PFF had him rated as a top 25 corner and they traded him for a 5th rounder. One in which will probably be in the back of the order. What in the hell are the Eagles doing this offseason?
  18. How in the heck did a low level team not beat that deal?! What a steal.
  19. Bell officially down to 2 game suspension. Sucks for the Ravens because at his 3 game suspension, and our Thursday night game, he would have only been allowed to practice for two days. Now he has a week and a half to practice and also help out the Steelwrs greatly against the Rams.
  20. That is what the NFLPA is in place for. To protect the players when they have been wrongly/unjustly suspended.(obviously there are a multitude of other aspects that it's in place for) Just like in the Hardy case, they felt that he had already served his suspension last year and fought for him to get his 10 game suspension reduced. They won and got it to 4. In Bell's case, I believe I read that he took classes and took some type of probation to have the charges dismissed from his record. We have seen in other cases that doing those steps has resulted in a reduction of a suspension. I really don't think that the NFLPA is condoning going out and smacking around women or doing drugs and driving around. They are simply doing their job and fighting for the players rights.
  21. Since this is a poll of who the best QB's are in the NFL right now, and not who has had more post season success since Joe Flacco has entered the league, I tend to agree with where he is ranked. You are implying that just because Flacco hasn't been in the league as long as Ben/Brady/Manning, that we should throw out all of their early successes?
  22. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer, but you are just flat wrong that Flacco has been better than everyone in the top tier. What is the point to a football season? To win the Super Bowl, most would say. Flacco has only got the Ravens to one of them. At the end of the day, who cares if the Ravens made the playoffs 6 out of 7 years? To me, that says that they have only been able to meet their goal 1 out of 6 times. Now I know most of you will say "Well at least the Ravens are there and have a chance to win it". I am speaking in total hindsight but which scenario is better. Winning it once every say about 8 years and the rest of the seasons not making the playoffs/getting a better draft position? Or making it all the times the Ravens did and only getting there once? Like I said, this is purely hindsight since we all know the outcome that happened, but I would rather have the team that got better draft pics, at the end of the day. Like the old saying goes, if you aren't first, you're last. But getting back to what you said about Flacco being better than everyone in tier 1. Tom Brady has 4 Super Bowl rings and what 6 or 7 appearances? How in the hell could you possibly say Flacco is better than that? Rodgers also led his team to 1 SB and has WAYYYY better stats than Flacco. Big Ben has been to 3 SB's and has won 2. Brees, I believe he has won 1 also along with Manning. This along with all of these guys having way better stats than him. Like I said earlier, does it really matter if we make it to the playoffs and can't come through in the end? (Obviously it is a team game and it wasn't always Flacco's fault) To summarize, Flacco is placed right where he belongs. He has had many opportunities to get to tier 1 but has not capitalized on winning another Super Bowl.
  23. Like I stated in an earlier post, if old and sluggish means throwing for 5,000 yards and a division title, then by all means, I'll go to bed each and every night praying that Flacco looks old and sluggish, this year.
  24. Your argument is just pointless. It doesn't matter if he had Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson and Bo Jackson. He doesn't have his stats discounted. He still put up those numbers. We can make arguments all we want about his weapons. Guess what, his only one that was a first round choice is his aging TE. All 3 WR's you mentioned were 3rd, 4th and 6th rounders. With the 3rd being the least productive. Let's not act like Ben sucks and his WR's had him throwing for 5,000 yards. The QB makes the WR.
  25. If sluggish and old means throwing for 4,950 yards and 32 TD's, then by all means, I really hope Flacco looks sluggish and old this year.
