This is why the judicial system is very wary to intervene on arbitration rulings when it comes to CBA's. In most cases, well other than the NFL who ALWAYS seem to lose these, the standards of the individual or party are clearly defined in the CBA. With the past couple issues regarding the NFL, the rules surrounding the said issue, and the punishment to go along with, are so vague that it almost guarantees the leading to federal court. In this case it happened again, the judicial system isn't there to say whether he did it or not. It is there to make sure that the appropriate punishment has been given out and if the issue violates the CBA that was agreed upon by both parties. If the language is vague, then they are there to interpret that language and make a decision. Obviously, Godell can't just give out punishments just to give them. He would be forced out of the league by the committee so quickly his head would spin. There are items in place to where he isn't the all being power.
