I tend to think that Smith would be a very good person to learn from if we drafted Lee. Also, I think if we could get Ebron we have to pull the trigger. We would have 2 TE sets for the next 4-5 years that would be unstoppable.
How is Ebron a stud with pedestrian numbers like these at NC:
8TD's in 3 years? (3 in 2013, 4 in 2012, and 1 in 2011)
year - Rec - Yds - TD's
2013 62 973 3
2012 40 625 4
2011 10 207 1
I'm not seeing the hype here?
Don't count on Rolando McClain, he is too far removed and had too many bad seasons, and too much baggage.
Moving on....
The Dez pick wasn't his fault. They wanted Dez bad but Dallas swooped in to take him before us. And I think Hostler being gone will do good things... that guy wasn't good at his job IMHO.
Couldn't agree more with the above bolded statement.
Not Cool. Seriously disrespectful to Sergio Kindle. He had all the talent in the world and gave us all he had yet never became the player he could have been due to a freak accident. I am seriously offended by your sentiment.
Draft hindsight is 20/20. Anybody can say oh our GM sucks he missed Tom Brady in the 6th or UDFA Shannon Sharpe or heck CFL Warren Moon. Stop nitpicking.
Actually Sergio fell so far based on his off the field "issues" many teams passed because there was worry he would be in trouble due to drinking and such. Ozzie often takes risks in the 2nd round.

I agree with tha tI actually edited my original post to reflect the situation better....I was thinking we had Dez in our grasp...that trade was soo shocking to me.
And I would happily take any one of them in the second round. My personal feelings on Mike Evans are that he is completely an upside player - he has a raw skill set, and that's it. It's going to be 2-3 years before he's an every day contributor, and he has a very high bust potential. What he did in college will not translate to the professional level, and I don't think he'll be one of the best receivers in this draft class. Being 6'5" isn't everything.
Fair enough, I really can't argue too much against those guys, As the only one I've seen much of in college (Allen Robinson) I really like for the Ravens. Based on what I've read Moncreif sounds like a gamer too.
We won't, though. Atleast I'll be very surprised. Ozzie already voiced his opinion about how risky WR draft picks are and this team will always be more concerned about getting the defense and running game right rather than improving the passing offense.
Signing an over the hill Vet and counting on late round picks and UDFAs for WRs is right up our alley.
They are risky to Ozzie because his scouts and himself don't do a good job of evaluating the Receivers. and always when in doubt Ozzie picks a defensive player. Notice when he picked guys like Courtney Upshaw (Alshon Jeffries was available), Sergio Kindle (he moved down from 25, Dez bryant was picked 24 (via trade with N.E.) and Demaryius Thomas went 22 (via trade with N.E.). Man am I pissed Ozie couldn't move up two freaking spots for one of those guys? And we end up with Sergio Kindle who broke his crown like humpty-dumpty.
Granted Hind-sight is 20-20, and as I recall I was thinking we had Dez in our grasp and then....Wait there is a trade, Dallas has moved up....!@#$%^&**
This is such a deep draft at receiver I don't see the point in trading up for one. We're almost guaranteed to have a shot at a guy in the mid-second that probably would have been a late first rounder in a weak year.
I'm not so sure...
By late first rounder in a weak draft you are thinking someone like say...Clayton? Travis Taylor?
I say make every effort to get Evans. It might mean moving up a few spots. Because otherwize in the 2nd you are looking at guys like Jordan Matthews, Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, Donte Moncrief

No thanks!
He was offered his what 3rd, 4th opportunity last year when the Ravens offered a contract. He promptly blew it.
good riddance
