  1. Yea just watched it the other night. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either. A lot of star power. The only thing I took from that movie is where do I find a boss like Aniston? My boss is a bald dorkie who only shops at Costco's and sings in the church choir.
  2. I agree. The original Swedish Film was very good. Noomi Rapace was phenomenal. Not sure why there needs to be an American Remake (even though Fincher says its not) when the original was only 2 years old. Seriously, does Hollywood even know how to be creative on its own anymore? Remakes, Reboots and Sequels seem to be the majority of blockbusters nowadays. Not surprised they remade this film so fast because of the proven track record the original film had. Hollywood did the same thing with "Let the Right One In" Okay, I'm getting off my hipster movie podium now.
  3. Have another addition to Purock's list of most disturbing films. Dogtooth (2009). It is a greek film (yes with subtitles). It isn't a horror film. Just odd with disturbing imagery. It is currently streaming. And in case you missed it. The film that still sits near the top of my disturbing films is 'Irreversible' (2002). This is a film that will leave you wondering why some films are even made. What's the point?
  4. I did watch 'Grace' as part of my October Horror watching. And Honestly I can barely even remember it. Just remember that the baby bites and liked the blood.
  5. I'm pretty sure that movie was ruined before it was ever made. I can't believe they are going to do a sequel. If you think Maya was the only thing stopping that movie from even being good......I don't even know what to say.
  6. Agreed. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was a five star movie to me. I really liked it. Jim Carey's performance in it (switching out of his type cast) reminds me of what Adam Sandler did in Punch Drunk Love.
  7. Not until I went to college and got on the T. Leary treatment.
  8. Same here. I grew up on Fraggle Rock. I use to go into the backyard and see if the leaf pile would have a conversation with me.
  9. Ever since Beetlejuice I've been a fan of Danny Elfman. Ofcourse he is sort of like Burton's musical henchman. Hot to Trot anybody?
  10. Yep. I was going to ask which version. Then I realized that most posters on here only see whatever the new version is. I haven't seen the new version of LHOTL, only the old version. The old version was creepy in a 70's porn type way. Definitely one of the odd men out in Craven's movies.
  11. I highly recommend it. Its a fun watch. However its not one that wives might enjoy. Its currently rocking 3.5 on 300k+ reviews which is pretty good by Netflix standards.
  12. Yea, the states had zero publicity for it. Seen it on Netflix a few times and the movie podcast (The Film Vault) I listen to it gave it a rave review. So I gave it a try. Gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Its like a cross between 'A Clockwork Orange' and a violent 'Shawshank Redemption'.
  13. Anybody else ever watch 'Bronson'? It's currently on Netflix Instant Watch, I just watched it yesterday. I thought it was a very, very good movie. Surprised how under the radar it went.
  14. What is wrong with you son?
  15. Just watched the Korean flick "I Saw the Devil". Not what I expected. It was very, very good. But I wouldn't say that it fits the horror genre all that much. I was expecting another demented ghostly Asian tale but it was more of a sick serial killer type movie.
  16. If it didn't have a plethora of cartoon boobs would you still love it?
  17. I'm probably in the minority but I really like "House of a 1000 corpses". It's a gruesome fun house with great characters. However I did not like the follow up of "The Devils Rejects". Then I had such high hopes for "El Superbeasto," but it turned out to be just cartoon monster porn. It was pretty bad.
  18. Wednesdays at 10pm. If you like haunting movies like Insidious, then you might light this (at least from what I can tell from episode 1).
  19. Looking forward to it as well. Have you or anybody else started watching "A American Horror Story" on Fx? It's actually not half bad and nicely produced. Last week was the premiere.
  20. Not sure if you are a Netflixer or not. But they just signed a deal to stream the Walking Dead (Season 1). In Fact I think today is the first day you can do so.
  21. Martrys has a ton of torture. But it probably falls the most into a horror genre out of three I listed. A Serbian Film is just sick on all sorts of perverse dimensions, Irreversible is just a violent brain confusing nigtmare (best way to classify it). Not really torture but more so violence. Inside. Is a violent, stalker-slasher type flick.
  22. Yeah. I was actually going to say that movie as well in my post. I watched that last year. It is a very, very good movie. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Can't remember that concept ever being done before.
  23. I watched both of those a while back and I agree they are great movies. I love the main actor. He is also in 'Iron Monkey' which is on IW as well. Since its October, I am on my Horror watching only mode. Anybody have any good hidden gems (doesn't have to be IW)? They do have to be hidden because I watch a ton of flicks. This year the horror films I have watched have been weak compared to last years session. Last year I watches some screwed up flicks. Don't know if anybody's ever seen it but 'Matryrs' has to be one of the most disturbing movies I've ever watched. It's right up there with 'Serbian Film' and 'Irreversible'. If you like sick stuff, all three of these are a must.
  24. It is on IW. And I too thought the new Thing was a reboot.
  25. Ice Bath, Romo.
