I was thinking the same thing, every time I watch him I see him play he looks like a bigger maybe even more athletic Tyran Mathieu. I can understand the other comparisons with bigger guys like Woodson but I've yet to see that elite ballhawking ability Woodson has.
He was definitely more of a ballhawker last year at safety. But not woodson level.
the refs had nothing to do with another untimely Flacco interception on the route that Aiken fell down on smh. Not like that crappy line can block Bye's pro bowl pass rushers but man...at least Tucker went 7-7 with every field goal being from 65 feetHow 'bout dose bye refs, doe? Dey blind r wut?
Another week, another touchdown given up in the final minute again. byes Qb had all the time in the world in the pocket and threw the game winning Td with less than 8 seconds in a long field? How many times does this happen? Can we fire pees now?
I just personally believe coverage isn't Lewis strong suit, he tends to play more comfortably in the box, I feel utilizing him as an ILB could be a solution to our poor coverage in the middle of the field. Not to mention we could use someone with a bit of athleticism there.
I agree. Sounds like a neat litte twist to get Brooks on the field. unfortunately I see our defense in an upward trend if this happens which may save Pees his job.
He really can't play that well anymore. But I sure do miss him. If anything for just a positive attitude and nostalgia purposes. He's not going to win us any games but man was he beloved here.
dean pees brain doesn't stretch that far lol. Well I take that back, he did put our first round SS who can't cover at slot corner so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility. We have to see if brooks is any better though....This may seem bold as hell and downright insane to some, but this is more of a suggestion, but the St.Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals are seemingly doing this. They have Deon Bucannon as a SS, but in reality he plays more as an ILB, functioning as a safety playing closer to the line. This is also what the Rams did with Mark Barron which has worked very well for them.
Shifting Kendrick Lewis from safety to playing more of an ILB in the sense that he's a safety, but in reality plays ILB which would allow us to put Terrence Brooks in at FS. It could be a solution to cover TEs and the dump-off RBs who tend to burn us continuously while also being the run-stopper that he is. Of course that would require us to sacrifice on position, whether it be OLB or ILB. I don't know which it'll be, or maybe he just starts over Daryl Smith.
hey guys, we should pick him u *is shot*
Trouble with Alex Mack is that he doesn't want to leave and has a "no trade" clause that he isn't going to waive.
I know he SAID that but, he did sign a deal with Jacksonville 2 years ago that was matched, and the franchise still hasn't done much since then. I hope his agent is in his ear. Urshels snaps give me nightmares lol.
Anyone seen that SD put Eric Weddle on the trading block. I know people in this forum have been eyeing him.
You just know he's going to make him inactive vs. Jacksonville lol
Anyone got a gif of tuckers dance
Loss, fire pees, etc.
Once we get rid of pees harbs will promote Juan Castillo for the lulz
stupid phone, I meant to say consists of chain moversNot sure what you mean by "cubists by chain movers", but since it's all a fantasy scenario I'd imagine we don't deviate a whole lot from what we currently do - find cheap veterans and not force anything in the draft. I was honestly impressed by how good Aiken and Brown looked against NE when Revis locked down Sr, which I think says more about postseason Joe than anything, and our young TE group is only going to get better.
As to the philosophy itself, I agree we don't need a Dez Bryant at all, or even a "WR1" (however you define that). Just a couple of guys who can get open and let Joe do most of the work. They shouldn't be too hard to find.... right?
that sounds great....but one thing you're missing is, even with a good running game we need Wrs that can quickly get seperation. In this scenario that you painted out I don't even think we need a stud just a group of cubists by chain movers at Wide outI actually think that if we got Fournette (or some other game-breaking RB) and beefed up the OL we'd see a lot more Postseason Joe. That's why I'm pounding the table for Stanley and Tunsil atm, even though we have Monroe and I've been smitten with Ramsey ever since we lost to the Bengals and I thought we'd have a shot at him.
Joe himself had a career year last season, when we had Kubiak improving the OL beyond imagining and had a better focus on a run-first scheme. No-one would have called him a game manager that season, but it was the running game that let him thrive. The Packers were a great team, but struggled in a big way in the postseason without a dominant running game to improve their ball control. Look what even Lacy's done for them, and no-one would call Rodgers a game manager. Even with Dez and Romo, the Cowboys struggled at 8-8 until bringing in Frederick and Martin. It was when Murray was able to start averaging 5ypc that their offence was able to become the dominant force it is now.
I think a top-tier running game would do far more for us than people give it credit for. As crazy as it sounds, it might even do more for us than patching up the secondary, adding another edge guy (assuming we can fill the McPhee void) or getting Joe a franchise WR. I know our running game is decent atm, but I'm talking about a top-five or top-10 unit where you can just tell the defenders what you're going to do and it won't matter because they can't stop it anyway.
Since we're in fantasy-land, what I'd love is to trade from 2 to 6 and still be able to get a guy like Tunsil. If the team we trade with sucks enough next year that we're in a position for Fournette, that'd leave us with Monroe - Tunsil - Zuttah - Yanda - Wagner, with Tunsil able to slide to LT by the time Fournette arrives. THAT would instantly put us in the Lombardi picture and add a TON of consistency to Joe's game imo. But like you say, that's not happening. Nice to dream, but that's the kind of thing I'd love to see us build towards.
maybe get a fiery DC?? I'll tell you what, Ramsey is that hothead playmaker that will pump his team up....don't know if it'll happen with pees thoActually, I think that was one of the complaints about Ngata coming out of college. It's the reason he fell to 12th overall, despite being the best defensive lineman in that draft. However, during his rookie season he had Ray Lewis standing right behind him to make sure he was giving it his all. The Ravens don't have a figure like that to push Bosa if he was the pick. That could definitely be a valid concern.
I hope he's gone next week
hmm.... Something we've known since his rookie year.... Go figure. That's because we run all this underneath crap. And use play-action that fools no one. When Joe is in shotgun we're pretty good.
im not a canes fan....I might be if pagano ends up here, but I basically followed Ed Reed to BaltimoreCanes and Ray Lewis. That's what got me. From NY but had family in Florida. Never rocked with the Giants or Jets.
this so much, the receivers and Joe have to be on point in the pass game then we can gash them with Justin and buck... However out pass game takes forever to get underway...like until we're down 14... But I agreeNo one ever talks about how bad our run game is. Every week it's "They need to run to open up the pass", and every week it's been just the opposite. Until the offense sees that the pass game opens up the run, they will struggle early in games.
payton is a better head coach than Harbaugh, why would he come here with a demotion.Thats correct, but if he doesnt, we should go after him as a OC
Another Tuesday afternoon...*checks notifications* he's still here? Yup??? Ok see you next week.
Keep buck in
