This quote after the game is classic
“We got to address some issues,” outside linebacker Terrell Suggs
said. “We got to be honest with ourselves and we got to address those issues if we want a chance at success, if we don’t want to be on the outside looking in.”
Start by announcing your own retirement, No place for old, slow, one arm pass rushers in this league.
Get rid of ALL the "Old Farts" , I would rather watch first year players, that play with passion and act like they want to be NFL players.
This lethargic team we have currently makes me depressed, I watch this team make the same dumb mistakes week after week all season. Only means two things , you are not that good to begin with or your coaching staff sucks. Which is it?
I say blow it up, bring some young coaching staff in here , even if they have to learn on the job its better then this crap.
Thanks Steve, You made me think of Ray Lewis's passion for the game , the way you play should be the model for the NFL.
Harb's style of coaching scares players like you from coming to the team.
Enjoy your retirement, God knows you earned it.

Our defensive line completely disappeared last 3 games. We have no pass rush whatsoever. Changes are needed for 2017 and I hope they are coming, starting with play callers on both sides of the ball.
12 hours ago, OldToby said:Such an overrated defense. Terrible, terrible. Idk if you put the blame on the play calling or the defensive players. Suggs allowed several big plays. The pass rush was NON EXISTENT.

12 hours ago, sflegend89 said:We need a pass rusher so bad. Suggs/Doom ain't getting it done consistently against the good Tackles at this stage in their careers.
We desperately need someone who can win 1 on 1 off the edge. Rushing 4 is so pointless against any decent OL.
12 hours ago, Cville-Raven said:Us losing could be a blessing. This game made it very evident we need more talent at the edge and corner back positions. Getting a top 20 pick will benefit us in the long run. Just asking way too much of Suggs at this point in his career. Peas needs to take the fall for the late season collapse of the defense.

... all need to be gone. Time to rebuild the WR, secondary and pass rushing group. You have pieces to start building the o-line. I love the LB'er tandem in Orr and Mosley. You need a ball hawker beside Weddle. Completely rebuild the wideout group. Wallace provides little if he's not catching deep balls. We need sure handed chain movers. Dixon needs to be the feature back. Enough of this 2 back rotation. You can't count on Jimmy to play a full season or suit up for big games, so corners are a huge need.
12 hours ago, cnyravens said:They flat out lost to a better team!
Should have lost last week to the Eagles!
Sorry but Suggs is toast as is Dummerville.
And please stop with Jimmy Smith out being an excuse.
This team is a shell of what classic Raven teams used to exemplify.
Ray Lewis must be sick to his stomach.
Harbaugh and the coaching staff needs to go.
Play NOT to lose and you lose every time!

No significant pass rush. 2nd game in a row where our D couldn't stop the run. Aiken can't get his head around because he lacks awareness. Perriman drops a ball and then double clutches next catch. All pro long snapper airmails a snap. Bad Joe looks awful on checkdowns, but throws like a champ downfield. Williams and Jernigan essentially disappear. Suggs looks like a snail. Waller drops a TD ball. Just wasn't our day, but if we don't absolutely clean house Harbs, Newsome the whole works I'll be disappointed because we are not sitting on a playoff team for next year or near years to come. I'll leave it on the Bengals outcome, if and only if we win, Harbs can stay.

Put a fork in them . Sadly .

11 hours ago, perryhall said:If you watched every ravens game this year, you know that they just played their second best game of the year. It was a great game to watch. Unlike many of their victories which are pretty ugly.
The defense did collapse at the end of this game. It s highly doubtful this would have happened if Jimmy Smith played today.
The defense isn't to blame for the season they had. Some say the high ranking for this defense isn't accurate in view of the competition yet the offense played the same competition and was ranked 29th . In this game the defense which did collapse in the end ,gave the offense every opportunity to score many more points.
The defense needs to improve some, specifically pass rushing and one more corner. However, the offense needs to improve dramatically.
Ok, I have read through only half of this thread. NOW to you guys believe what I have said through out this year?
The total lack of pass rush is KILLING this defense, You can't give quarterbacks that much time to look for receivers down field.
The most popular comment so far today has been the lack of performance all year by Doom and Suggs. Fix this position and we automatically have a better defense. It only took one more win this year to turn this thing around.
Yea, I'm pissed because of this outcome, but it is fixable.

What part of "lack of pass rush" don't you understand? Most successful offensives do very well when their quarterback can sit back in the pocket for 7-10 seconds.
The more time it takes our old warhorses to get there means the secondary has to cover longer, They are not doing the job they need to now, so how can they be asked to cover receivers longer?
Elam should not even be on this team, and Webb was too slow to play corner. So how can he be asked to play safety.
21 hours ago, The Raven said:You're right tbh.
But... Suggs has always taken plays off. If we're talking about this year though, Suggs took off the whole Patriots game. He's got eight sacks on the year which is ballin', but he only made one tackle against New England and he didn't record a single statistic against Pittsburgh... Where's he been when it's mattered? He didn't record a state against Miami either, and that was a blowout. He's on the decline big time, and if you can't see he's taking more plays off than ever before, well... smh.
And he ain't never been the "general" of anything. Generals lead. Suggs just talks loud.
If you ask me, Weddle looks like the general right now, which is sad since he's a transplant. People flock to him. They respect him. He made a big mistake against New England but doesn't take plays off. He grinds and he leads.
And Suggs? He's just too busy crawling on all fours wagging his tongue like some kind of man child pretending to be a dog (that actually happened, by the way). He's always liked the attention more than anything.
I knew I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Please understand I appreciate everything Suggs has accomplished in the past. But we still need more consistent play from that position. IMO and that of many others, its time to move on.
I still have not forgotten Suggs showing up to training camp 30 lbs over weight, and out of shape. then using all of preseason and the first half of the season to get in shape. What king of "Veteren Leader" does that BS? Huh?
Torn Achilles injuries are very rarely something players come back from at 100%.
Oh and by the way, to "frozen joe flacco fan" the number of post on this forum has Nothing to do with comments made here.

X2, sorry
lmao, Suggs has Never been the "General" on this team. He Plays at half speed now, Even takes plays off, Just like Ngata use to.
Can't seal the edge, too slow. I was shocked they brought him back this year. When will we get younger at the edges?
This current lack of pass rush has been exposing our week secondary for the last two years now.
I think he's still pissed from last weeks "check down over the middle show" type of game. He wasn't targeted much if at all, why?
Desert
Until we learn to play more than three quarters during a game I would have to say no way, Sorry.
Desert
The defensive playbook that worked for 3 1/2 quarters was abandoned? WHY?
I need to have this explained to me.

Man, We need to turn this thing around now. I'm not sure we can win another game the way we are playing .....

7 minutes ago, jboy said:Joke Flacco has lost it. He's killing the team with his lackadaisical effort and he's not a leader. I can't even watch the games anymore. The team is sloppy and makes lots of mistakes, penalties, etc. This indicates bad coaching which points to Harbaugh . We have older players who are constantly injured. Time to blow this team up. We're going nowhere with this mgt and players. Kubiak was a excellent OC and the team played to a higher level with him here. Without him Harbaugh is exposed as a bad decision maker and appears to be pressing. Look, we just don't have the talent anymore. If we had the talent maybe Flacco and Harbaugh wouldn't seem so bad, but we don't, so they are really exposed. We might win 1 more game this year. What is troubling is that it appears the players have quit on Harbaugh, you can see it on the field. They just melt in crunch time.
Right now I feel the same way, But I feel this team can play better. I would be happy with a functioning offense, that looks like a "Professional NFL" team.
A team that can string some first downs together and move the ball down the field.
I would accept losing and getting beat by a better team, but giving games away is just too painful.

I ask this question in all seriousness, As a fan it just seems like we repeat the same mistakes week after week. Please help me to understand how this gets fixed.
Is it me? but other games I watch don't seem to have the "Same" problems every week. I understand the nature of the game , and no one is perfect. Sure is frustrating.
Desert
I started this thread BEFORE this game, But here I am asking the same question. How do we fix the awful O line?
Desert
IMO Perriman is a "Work in Progress" which is OK if you have play-makers around him. Asking him to step up now, He's just not ready. Will he ever be ready? I don't know, probably not.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this statement. Fitzpatrick has always played well when he is supposed to lose badly.

IMO, I'm more concerned that we have a really hard time converting a one yard run, Goal line or not. We need to find a way to convert in those situations.
The fact that it was a fourth down , goal line play or third down doesn't matter. It's hard for this current team to do.
Any one noticing year after year we continue to have the same problems? No depth, can't block, look slow, appear not motivated, constantly hurt players.
Even after a season ending injury to Flacco , it still isn't a priority with the team?
What needs to happen before Flacco gets hurt again? C'mon Harbs HELP!

Typical Pees' scheme, Play decent for 3 1/2 quarters, drop back and give away games in the last 5 minutes = Lost games
Lack of pass rush on both edges Again. Suggs and Doom. Too much cap money for Zero performance.
Another argument for replacing our current pass rushers.
WE lost a lot of battles in the trenches all year.
Defense can't get off the field, too many big plays down the field due to NO pass rush = losses
Bingo.
Yes I agree, Bad coordinator with old slow edge rushers = lost games
NO Pass Rush = Bad Qb's looking like Tom Brady.
Suggs needs to go, Iv'e said this all year, Too old and slow.
