  1. I agree, Sr. is the only one who plays like he really cares. Of course, Flacco, but he is the cool, calm, collected navigator. The defense is horrible. The penalties will kill us. Sloppy, sloppy playing. Can't believe this is the same team I've been watching with such pride for the last five years.
  2. Even with all the horrific, inexcusable errors and penalties and downright confounding lack of defense, we still could have won that game. Both games. We lost by six points in the Broncos game and four in the Raiders game. They weren't landslides. We played sloppy. That being said, our schedule is horrible but front-loaded. Things will fall into place. I believe in the Ravens organization. Harbaugh is an amazing coach. They'll turn this around!!
  3. It won't matter how many bodies we have out in the secondary if they're just going to stand there and watch the ball whiz by.
  4. I hope this doesn't hurt Flacco's image.
  5. Do we have a diagnosis? I mean, this injury is more mysterious than where they buried Jimmy Hoffa. I still haven't heard.
  6. I'm confused. Are you saying we'll win, or we don't have a chance?
  7. We should never take any team for granted. That's when trouble starts.
  8. Ray may be overestimating the importance of linebackers (guess why??). It takes a whole team, and even with Suggs gone, we are in better shape on defense this year than last. I'm more worried about the protection for Flacco. Still can't believe that hit he took that looked like (was) a horse collar. At first I thought his head hit the ground and I thought, "There goes the season." Those guys have got to step up.
  9. Funny how Smith always takes the heat on himself, while Joe says "We" have a lot of work to do. I like Steve Smith.
  10. Harbs is putting a good face on it, but I'll bet he's plenty worried. Suggs is not easily replaced. I feel sorry for him too; he had hinted that this might be his last season, and this isn't how he would want to go out. He was out with a torn Achilles the season we won the Super Bowl, so it can be done...but this is a far different team. Now one of the veterans and leaders won't be here this season.
  11. Maybe taught Asa a good lesson. We can only hope.
  12. This is like choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. Can they both lose?? :-)
  13. I personally did not think it was cool for him to run out and confront Gruden, and I really had to laugh at the lie about which "F" word he used! We all saw it. However, about the media...his brother has always been a total jerk to the media and they can't get enough of him. He's not even in the NFL anymore and they keep talking about him. And Belichick won't say anything but a grunt in response to any question. Maybe it's because they expect more of Harbaugh? He's more polished than those two, more into the Pentagon-speak of the NFL, so it seems out of character.
  14. Fumbles, interceptions, penalties...we certainly don't look like Super Bowl contenders out there this preseason. The starters looked a lot better than last week (thank God!) but it isn't comforting knowing there's really no one behind Steve Smith to catch the ball reliably. The way these guys are getting hurt, we need depth, and we don't have it. We just don't.
  15. If anything happens to Flacco we are seriously in trouble. Schaub looks terrible. In fact, the whole second and third string looks terrible. I don't remember us looking this bad before.
  16. It probably didn't help Ngata's cause when he got the suspension for taking Adderall right before the postseason. We made it without him and that showed the front office that he wasn't indispensable. If he had been willing to restructure his contract as some have done, things might have gone differently. If he's holding a grudge, too bad for him! Money before loyalty...that's what he preferred.
  17. It really didn't look like anything was game-planned. A game where Mark Sanchez outshines Joe Flacco by a considerable margin leaves me flummoxed. Hope we look better going forward.
  18. The preseason doesn't count. Thank God. The officiating was beyond terrible. Again, the pre-season.
  19. Harbs had me until he said he was "going Trump." Not too sure what he was trying to say, but aligning himself with that goofball isn't smart.
  20. Solid performance. Excited about the regular season! Schaub did well...Quadry Ismail explained that the one interception wasn't really his fault and it made sense. Great that the back-up RB's looked so good! Still, the Saints almost won despite really sloppy play. An area of concern?
  21. Can't find the app on my iPhone. It isn't on my Ravens' app. Grrrr! Looks like it would be fun.
  22. If doctors haven't cleared him, it probably isn't a good sign. That hip is a problem. If I were him, I'd take my money, go to a really good financial adviser, and start thinking about a second career. There is life after football. He's young, good-looking and personable. He'll find something.
  23. It is interesting with Flacco and Big Ben. ALmost all the "analysts" think Roethlisberger is the better QB. And he is tough. But he seems not to be able to bring it all together in the end. Flacco definitely has the better record. The geeks who focus on statistics love Big Ben. But I would take Flacco over him. Glad to have him, can't understand why he doesn't get more respect not only from the analysts but from his own peers.
  24. These QB lists are ridiculous. Yesterday I saw Mark Brunell list Joe Flacco in the second tier QB list alongside Ryan Tannehill and Andy Dalton. Flacco has only won a Super Bowl and led his team to the playoffs every season but one. Dalton and Tannehill??? A joke! He also had Eli Manning in there. I believe Manning has two Super Bowl rings. As for next season, I think Flacco is going to make a lot of these so-called "experts" eat their words.
  25. When I first started watching football, I had no idea who Ed Reed was. I remember we were playing the Jets with Sanchez as QB before he imploded. Reed made some dazzling interception and I sat up and said, "Who is that?" and then the announcer starting talking about Ed and what an amazing player he was. After that, it seemed like everytime I watched, Ed was doing something clutch in the moment, something unexpected and terrific. He was so great. Smart, funny, always original -- that's Ed.
