  1. I would like to see a more balanced draft. We had an anemic offense last year, with lots of blame to go around. I don't see our RB situation as wonderful, and as for wide-outs, forget about it! Ozzie will always be Ozzie, Mr. Alabama, defense is everything. Disappointed.
  2. The team hasn't been the same since Q left. That may due to several other factors, but I'd love to see him come back. He and Flacco had a good chemistry.
  3. This practice of all writers filling their stories with tweets is really lame. If you can't think of something to really write, end the article. I don't really care what some player has to tweet.
  4. have to remember that Suggs has been playing with a torn bicep all season and it's probably really bothering him now, and Doom is getting older and has been hurt all season too. Without an effective pass rush, you can't stop a cagy, quick-release QB like Big Ben. No Jimmy Smith really hurt us too, but Smith's value has to be re-evaluated. He's too injury-prone. We need someone stalwart like a Richard Sherman.
  5. Really disappointing game by the offense. No one we were watching the game with understands why Joe keeps throwing these balls that are barely above the line of scrimmage or sometimes, even behind. The Ravens looked as confused and bumbling as they did sure-footed against the Dolphins. Sorry I stayed up for it!
  6. This is reminding me of our playoff run in 2011 and even 2012 - although in 2012 we were not playing well at this point in the season. I wanted Pittsburgh to lose today, but not in the cards as the Giants' defense looks pathetic.
  7. When you have as many penalties as we had in this game and say that penalties were down, you are setting the bar very low indeed. These penalties are going to continue to hurt us, because they stop the momentum almost every time the offense gets anything going. Not hopeful about the playoff scenario unless things improve.
  8. This team is in a swoon and I don't see them coming out of it any time soon. We have no playmakers. There is plenty of blame to go around and I think everyone has already made the salient points. I'm not really impressed by the entire NFL product this year. Too many injuries, too few good teams.
  9. Pass protection, anyone? You pay a gazillion dollars for a quarterback in this league, but no one wants to pay a good left tackle. It makes no sense. Also, where is our running game? It looked like we had too many backs in the pre-season and now we're basically down to West. hard to win games that way.
  10. If we were as bad as the teams we've just played, we would have a 1-3 or worse record right now too. Last year was just a weird year. Too many injuries to count, a new OC (again!), a new roster...the Ravens are a scrappy team and should never be counted out.
  11. What a relief!
  12. I guess we looked too good in the preseason and Ozzie couldn't take it. He needed to stir up some drama! No, seriously, it is upsetting, esp. Forsett and Butler. I don't get it. But I'm not looking at everything he's looking at.
  13. I think they still need a couple of preseason games or the first few games of the season would be so watered down, they wouldn't even be worth watching. But four is too many.
  14. Perriman's injury was just one more bad piece of luck the Ravens had to face last season. Hopefully, they got it all out of their systems and can go forward healthy.
  15. You can tell when there isn't a lot of news going on. More than half the article is tweets. As for Boyle, cut him. We don't need any more idiots on the team than we already have.
  16. Kubiak's patience with the running game is what struck me while watching the AFC Championship game -- of course, that and the amazing D. I was thinking back over the season and remembering how Trestman just couldn't stick with it, and that put so much pressure on Joe to throw so many times. If you're going to throw 40 times in a game, and your O-line sucks, it's pretty much a recipe for disaster. Hope Harbaugh exerts some pressure on him to stick with it next season.
  17. Both Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were ferocious defenders, but they delivered clean hits. I get steamed when trolls from other teams trash Ray Lewis or the Ravens, calling us dirty players. Our guys are tough, but very seldom just out to hurt the other player by any means necessary. I noticed Burfict back in 2011 and knew he was bad news. Glad we stayed away from him.
  18. Yes, I think you're right. But in the end, they could not retain their composure and that did them in...I've been upset at some of the unnecessary hits the Ravens have given out this season -- thinking about Timmy Jernigan in particular -- that have cost us dearly. His unrepentant attitude and Harbaugh's defence of it was even more troubling. Have to learn from these things. It is never worth it.
  19. With the benefit of hindsight, Bisciotti calling the Bengals "the class of the AFC North" is hilarious...as dirty as some of the games between the Ravens and Steelers have gotten, I don't think anyone was prepared for the almost criminal behavior of some of the Bengals in last night's game (which they thankfully lost). It just goes to show that in the NFL, anything can happen and probably will. Even Cris Collinsworth was rendered speechless.
  20. Making wholesale changes may sell with the fan base, who want a quick-fix and, often, a scapegoat, but our owner is smarter than that. You have to look no further than our division -- the Cleveland Browns. Could ANY team change coaches more often than they do? And they continue to spiral downward. That Art Modell was a smart guy. Bisciotti is even smarter to listen to him, and his own instincts.
  21. He did right by her. Congrats! :-))
  22. The only thing that would be better than beating the Bengals would be beating the Bengals with Red Ryder in the shotgun.
  23. I love having Steve Smith on the team, even if he isn't as clutch as he was in his younger days. He is a leader and a mentor to the younger guys. And you have to love the way he plays with all his heart and soul! He is in the Ray Lewis/Ed Reed mold, where you just lay it all out for your team. If we had to lose Anquan, at least we got a great replacement in SSS. Welcome back!
  24. Made the season for me. SWEET! It was so much fun to see Mallett out there looking like Peyton Manning, and our rag-tag group of guys who normally wouldn't be playing after the preseason wreaking havoc with the great Steelers. If only the offsides penalty hadn't negated Jimmy Smith's pick, I wouldn't ask for another thing this season. That almost killed me.
