It's interesting reading posts here. Why some of you had high expectations for this club....last season was fool's gold. We played a bad AFC-S (still lost to HOU and struggled in wins vs TEN & JAX, at home) and a horrible NFC-S, swept the div but if not for Forsett's 180 yd. 2 TD performance and Hill's pick-6, we probably would've lost at NOS. We lost to the contenders: IND, swept by CIN, SD, PIT (the latter 2 were blowouts) Flacco is what he always was except for lightning in a bottle in the SB run...average!!! He's not going to overcome this team's weaknesses, extend plays, be consistently accurate or aware of pocket threats. It ain't Trestman's fault (although his play-calling is suspect) That's basic QBing!!! In his 8th season, constantly starts slow yet to make a pro-bowl...that's top 3 in the conference. He's got a top 3 NFL contract although I get NFL economics and need for a QB for any possible success. Add pinning hopes on a rookie WR (Perriman), w/o pre-season snaps, a rep for brick hands, on a team notorious for not producing/developing WRs...no matter the WR coach, no WR other can get separation? None!! Anyone dare to criticize Oz for his personnel moves, acquisitions? This is a def franchise, always will be even in the Joe era. Except for the 2013 season, post-SB, the D has always outranked the O, at least statistically. When the D has played poorly, which is rare even under Pees, UGH...Joe hasn't match the opposing QB. When the D keeps us in games, Joe has seldom sealed or stole a W. And you guys blame SSS at DEN, if Joe didn't throw that bonehead Talib pick-6, a GW TD effort would not have been necessary. That's atypical SSS, but typical Joe. He misses SSS wide open at OAK, then a game-ending INT. Harbs has made bad in-game/timeout gaffes, we've had some suspect OCs playcall, injuries, bad drafts, etc...etc.. but this teams success/failure is mostly on Joe...IMHO.
