We definitely need a corner, but a pass rush makes the whole defense better, and our pass rush disappeared in the last 4 games. Age, conditioning, scheme, compensating for corner problems, offense not staying on the field consistenly tiring out the defense????? or all of the above. A Kalil Mack type rusher would fix a lot of problems.

Hey, the stats don't lie. Joe is a below average QB who occasionally has a good game or two strung together. We keep wishing otherwise but wishing doesn't fix the problem. I could have the best coaches on earth but I will never be an NFL quarterback. The best offensive coaches are that because they have Brady, Manning, Rogers, Brees and now Prescott. I think the players make the coaches more than the coaches make the players. Coaching is for discipline, recognizing talent, kicking or going for it, scheme, but the players have to make the plays.

Ravens problems in 2016 -Lost 3 games chasing points/ Coaching -Flacco inaccurate/ repetitive mechanics drills needed/ coaching and talent level -Perriman looks lost on many plays/ football IQ is low -Running backs are missing the cut back holes, constantly/ coaching-talent level -Corners can't cover without J. Smith in the game. Need more talented corners. - Almost no pass rush late in the season. Age issues on the edge. Can't compensate with blitzes because one on one coverage gets burned. Need pass rushers. -Near the bottom in yds per attempt in passing game/coaching. -Although the Ravens have Perriman and Wallace, they rarely stretch the field/ coaching -No commitment to the run game, stresses our defense, takes away time of posession, increases opponents pass rush, etc./ coaching - Losing games late. Tired defense because offense not on the field enough. Poor defense alignment./coaching -Penalty after penalty after penalty/coaching and discipline While the Ravens need upgrades at pass rusher, cornerback, wide receiver we also need new offensive and defensive mindsets. Mixing lack of talent with poor coaching decisions and you get an average team at best.

My take on the draft and or adding veterans. There are 2 important ingredients to a successful nfl player. Ability and speed seem to be top ranked by most teams but what good is ability if the football IQ is not there. Take Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, while they had ability they were football geniuses, always understanding the situation and how to capitalize on it. New England seems to always be selecting high football IQ guys. Tom Brady was picked 179th or so in the draft because they feared his physical abilities weren't there, but the IQ and drive trumped that. IQ translates into mistake free football and we know that the team that makes the fewest mistakes usually wins.

I agree with many posting here that the prevent defense is overused with little success. Only use it on long yardage with less than 30 seconds left and no time outs, when you know what the other team has to do. 1:18 and 3 time outs is just giving them free yards and the game. Also, I don't think the defense failed as mush as our key pass rushers, Suggs and Doom are old and tired and that snowballs into a vulnerable defense. Top needs for Ravens are pass rusher and a top tier cornerback.

We appear to have coaching issues. Poor play calling on offense most of the year almost cost us another one. Harbs cost us three games chasing points. Pees refused to stack the box yesterday even when we knew Wentz couldn't throw on us. Morningwig doesn't have a clue how to keep a defense off balance or does he understand what a sustained run game reaps in the second half.

The D lost 2 corners. Offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to give the d a rest, until later in the 2nd half. Try playing tired. Loose speed, attentiveness, tackling strength and motivation. Morningwig is vanilla. Flacco is a robot, who can't learn during the game. Offense can't make adjustments.

Easy with short passes. Flacco is 25 out of 32 in yards per pass. Patriots are 2nd in yards per pass attempt. Bingo.

When he entire NFL knows your QB can flick the ball 70 yards and you have 2 deep threats defenses are going to play a deep cover 2 with zone underneath which is exactly what NE did. They know our tendancies and were more than happy to give Joe the check down. People act like Joe just decides to check it down, he's got to take what the defense gives him. THEN, the flip side to that is when Joe did decide to drop it deep to Wallace he gets hammered because it was double coverage, which is really wasn't because the safety was late - Wallace just opened his arms like he was trying to catch a watermelon instead of a football. Receivers share a lot of blame on this one!! I understand why Patriots played certain defenses. Point is if you don't move their defenders at different levels you can't create holes to throw the ball in. They can't double everyone? Joe had time to hold the ball longer and wait for something to open up on many plays instead of the 2 second check down. You would also think, after 9 years, Joe would learn how to step up into the pocket to extend the play instead of backing up right into the pressure and throwing off his back foot. The processing speed of the Ravens offense, including the coaches is not fast enough. They were outwitted by the Patriots.

Why is it that our receivers run straight at the defenders? I thought the object was to avoid the defense. It's like the whole receiver corp is doing a curl route at the same time on play after play. No coming back to get separation, no hook and go, etc. I see a lot of poor play designs. They have check-down-itis.

On the Leveon Bell reverse field touchdown. Am I the only one who saw Steelers #46 tackle, hold and almost rip the helmet off of the Ravens defender, who was in position to make the tackle for a loss? How could the back judge miss this?
