I don't like Hostler for OC but to be fair, what has the FO given him in terms of receivers? None in the first round, and only Torrey in the first two. The rest have been projects.
valid point .all I know of Hostler is his experience with the niners and that wasn't good . Maybe there's a dynamic college coach no one is talking about . Look at JIm harbaugh and the success he has had amongst others.
He was probably talking about Hostler, who is going to be interviewed.
Castillo is not a candidate, quote me.
..after drafting 20 wideouts and one develops into over a 1000 yard receiver and the Receivers coach is a candidate for promotion ,,,thats bizarre but I hope your right and its not Castillo .
Â
and that's not counting undrafted rookies .
That frightens me that the search is being passed off as a farce. Â There most certainly is not someone qualified to be an OC currently on the coaching staff. Â If John is too stupid to see that, it's a true indictment of his ability to evaluate talent and make the correct decisions for the franchise.
Â
when I heard the we interviewed Shannahan I was like yes we are looking for a good OC, then the unsubstantiated rumor that Kubiak had been seen at jimmy's . I was even more sure finally we would get a creative mind and a better playbook , then I logged on and saw that interview today and heard him say :"John thinks we have a potential candidate in house already" I knew. Just curious how long before they announce it.
Listening to Kevin Bryne's interview with Mink today has me more convinced that Castillo is next man up . Words like good teacher, and already on the staff.. I hope not I hope this whole "interview process " isn't to justify him going with Castillo.
Norv Turner has an impressive resume and has been coaching a long time, but to me he's what the ravens used to be. I like Kubiak and Like Shanahan, he's young creative and he is familiar with what we are trying to do and I think he will fit well here. Plus both produce top ranked offenses and thats the direction we need to go in. we have Joe imagine having someone who can maximize his talent.
Â
Honestly I would be happy with any choice that can make us better , especially if his name isn't Castillo!
Myth: It is impossible to win back to back superbowls.
Â
fact :7 teams have won back to back superbowls since it's inception.
Â
the broncos, the steelers, the dolphins, the niners, packers, cowboys and patriots.
Â
Â
side note: I think the ravens should be next
yeah he hired an agent hes gone i heard patriots at work so i'm confused now will have to check it out .Ed Reed is about to join Boldin.
quoted for truthJacoby Jones couldn't play second fiddle to Andre Johnson. You really think Torrey is going to help him? I think you, along with most of the fans, overestimate our players.
please can u delete this .........lolwell i am very optimistic cause i knew i would have lost it if i logged on and found bring TO ,randy moss, or "insert name of washed up wr in the blank" thread started .
both are two expensive and i heard welker is staying in ne .How about Mike Wallace or Wes Welker?
i just wanted to say thanks i was bashing doss just yesterday in this thread and after reading this your right he can make plays . i guess sometimes it is hard to see the forest for the trees. Are you referring to the deep ball? If so, that pass wasn't clearly meant for Doss at all.
Unless Q was really winded, there would be no need for Doss to spell him much.
Seemingly every time someone on this board defends a player from irrational hate, they're a "fan". I love it.I'm not a "Doss fan". I'm just not willing to dismiss the possibility of him ever contributing like so many seem to have. He's done more than just make some catches in pre-season. His 39-yard catch against Cleveland, 26-yard catch against Oakland and 40-yard punt return against the Broncos alone showed me the guy at least has the talent to contribute.
let it go dude its beyond moronic at this point.if that's not saying we are doomed I don't know what is... And it was even you that said it
where is the post where i said this team is doomed it doesnt exist cause im not stupid enough to say that .
its really time for you to stalk someone else . i don't have time for this foolishness . you have failed to quote the post where i said this team was doomed because it doesn't exist . you made the error . if you can't read what i typed then don't respond to it and you won't look foolish .You are arguing to back out of your obvious error.
i did , i never said this team was doomed i wouldn't say that and i won't take credit for someone else saying it . its silly. You said we'd have a losing season without Boldin, a few pages back.
lolWhatever.
where is the post where i said the team is doomed ? good luck finding it i never did. try to quote what people actually said ok. wowYou in response to Boldin not being on the team this year
this is what you saidCare to retract your statement?
(People acting like out team is doomed if we let Boldin go is hilarious)......i'm sorry that you can't rememeber what you said 5 mintues ago but not once in all my posting since joining this site did i ever say this team was doomed . i had to find your orignial post . losing season was what i said sorry you misread it and quoted me wrong as well.
right and without a viable option to replace him that is a very real possiblity . that was part of a longer conversation .You in response to Boldin not being on the team this year
no i won't i said if we don't find a viable option and he is cut then yes we would have a losing season . that was part of a longer conversationCare to retract your statement?
i give we just are not communicating well i respect your opinion and agree they need a chance .That's senseless logic. You're not always going to have proven players ready to take over. There weren't any proven players replacing J.J. but look at what happened? Upshaw and Kruger thrived. If players never get a shot, we'll never know what they can do.
We have no way of knowing whether the Indy is a fair representation of Doss' game but the organization does, seeing as they've seen him in practice and have all the film necessary to evaluate over the past two seasons.
Doss was targeted three times.
"Dropsy Doss". Cute nickname.
Did you read my post properly? I simply compared their numbers. He doesn't get much playing time because Q thrives in the slot, as does Pitta and Jones offer more down-field ability.
If he never caught any of the passes thrown his way, how did he compile 7 catches during the season?
whatever dude no one said that at all ....lol most people are looking for a conversation about options if he leaves. and for the record even if they were they are entiltled to voice there opinions here just like you are and not be belittled or made fun of for them .It's not jumping to a conclusion. A lot of posts have been all doom and gloom if we lose our only "proven" WR. dont even pretend like it's not the case.
i agree i want him back too .I get the pumping it up so it sounds good if hes gone, but damn I want him back. Its not like hes a 37 year old Mason. Boldin is a physical beast and can turn it on at the drop of a hat. I WANT him back!
no one said that at all and i think its hilarious that you would even jump to the conclusion that anyone ever said it and i read back at least ten pages to find out who did .People acting like out team is doomed if we let Boldin go is hilarious. I love him as a player and he is a great teammate and leader, but it's not the end of the world folks.
Honestly, the team will be in a better position to win in the long-term if they let him go because it allows us to sign other players that are not at the end of their careers. We have made the playoffs 5 straight years and there has been a lot of turnover. It's not like Boldin has been the driving force behind the team's success.
I get the sentimental attachment and the recency effect. We also saw Boldin ball out during the playoffs, but the fact is he makes way more than his value, and it's not like the Ravens are asking him to play for nothing. A 2M dollar paycut is exactly what Boldin should be making.
i do agree with you . they do deserve a chance .i just think we need more options and veteran depth while we figure out which of these guys can contribute.Any how are you supposed to know if you never give them the chance? Look at the past. Ozzie has always cut veterans that he deemed too expensive in favor of younger players. He gives them a chance. Does it always work out? No, but Ozzie will find a way to correct that before it hurts us. You never know what you have until you give them a chance.

I think the new qb is a good idea tyrod needs a chance to shine on his own . He doesn't fit our scheme .
