I truely think the only reason Suggs hasnt retired this season is because he thinks we have an extremely good chance to a super bowl this year. That weight he packed on shows carelessness that I've never seen from him before. Kinda sad and dissapointing. I see this being his last season.
Let me just be clear for a minute. I like Nick Boyle but cmon, he is not a recieving TE in the least bit. He ran over a 5.0 40 yard dash and he is so big that his route running isn't good neither. He is a blocker. Gronk can do it all. Good hands, fast. Boyle will never be anything close to a Gronk. Nick Boyle is a pure blocker and maybe once in a while you toss it to em. I just think Boyle is gonna have a tough time getting open with how slow he is off the LOS.TE position is loaded. The first time since Todd Heap and Older but still great HOF Shannon Sharpe that TE has been so loaded. Pitta is a? ?? But all signs point to him playing. But even without Pitta we have a no.1 WR TE Maxx Williams, we have a heath miller type vicious blocker/3rd down and long converter type 10-15 yrd guy with Gilmore. Then we have Boyle this big 270lb athlete with a lot of potential as both a blocker and WR, maybe another Gronk type if he reaches his ceiling. So we are loaded anyway you slice it at TE
You took the words straight from my mouth. I was thinkong the same thing. It wasnt even a bad practice or several drops. Two was in tough situations and the other two, yes were uncalled for because it was individual drills. He still reportedly made some great plays after that. Not worried in the slightest. Seems like breshad, joe and justin Forsett get the same dumb questions and treatment. Nobody believes in eithet of them but they constantly will prove them wrong. It is beyond ridiculous that he was actually asked about dropped passes and made to offer an explanation as to why he dropped them.
Why on earth he was made to answer is now made clear; so that a thoroughly ridiculous article about nothing could be written.
Stay tuned for: "Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle tell us how they allowed themselves to be stripped of the ball".
Too bad nobody's perfect. No one catches everything their way even in practice. Breshad is already makng strides with his hands. He'll get better with more teaching.Perriman needs to get his act together now. This excuse of lack of focus drops won't fly in the NFL. And add to that the fact that he's incredibly talented. He needs to make every catch thrown in his catching radius period.
I am just not a fan of the guy. I see him as a great athlete and a below average football playet. In college you can get away with that.. Not in the nfl. No one here or on the russell street forum wanted perriman. Theres a pre draft thread on him specifally and everyone was saying what i was... No..
You are a straight hater. Get off his back. You should be supporting him. Its like you want him to fail. Pointing out about his hairline, makin fun the way he talks, saying hes atrocious at everything. We get it. You'll eat your words soon enough.
You should be used to it by now. How many Late For Work's thumbnails or articles have pictures of or about the steelers? ALOT. Especially when Sarah writes em.I can see supporting the cause, and a picture or two of Tomlin, but I do agree that 5 pictures was a little more than was necessary to support the cause. I think a link to Nestor's Twitter account would be sufficient and if I wanted to see more, I would go look. Shoving a bunch of pictures of a smirking Mike Tomlin on the "Late for Work" page made me not finish reading what was after that and I went straight to the comments where I found a number of like souls who were turned off by the content.
Exactly and I think he will. We still have trainng camp and pre season. Ravens dont just hand over a starting position to a rookie..ever. Kamar is starting right now but I feel really confident that Breshad will be a "number 2". Of course steve smith is number 1.Pretty sure placing him on #3 will be looked at as a disappointment. He needs to come out swinging.
Mind my laziness but are you talking about Breshad perriman and that one drop?
Please tell me you're joking..?Well it was fun while it lasted. Based on what I'm hearing about him in otas I definitely think he's out on the field day one as the number 2 or 3.
I have an idea but of course we will never know. Joe probably didn't like how Torrey took alot of plays off. Didn't finish his routes, especially towards the middle of the field. Torrey would slow down because he didn't want to get hit. I think Torrey was a big reason why our offense would stall some games. That usually forced Joe into some tough situations. Sacks, turnovers and Joe getting all the blame.Pretty odd now that you mention it. What could it have been ?
Of course, I'm all for Art Modell being voted into the hall of fame but be honest, if it were the other way around and Art took OUR team to Cleveland, would WE vote him in? I don't think so. I know I wouldn't. It happened in our favor and I am forever grateful for that. I'm not rooting for ANY Cleveland sports franchise because they are our rivals and in certain they feel the same as we do. That could of easily been the Ravens logo and Joe's face plastered on that jumbo-Tron and that stadium would of erupted just like with Pittsburgh's logo.
Yea bring in another vet who has issues with catches in critical moments. NO!
I agree with your post. I also wanted to point out that joe just recently said in an interview that he plans to play until hes 40. Take that for what its worth. My input on this is that Joe got the contract that he wanted after the Super Bowl. I think Joe WILL give us a discount for this extension. I dont know Joe but I can sense hes at the age that he just wants to win and settle his family down in MD. Hes humble and he has more money to deal with. Hes defintaly getting more millions, so I think we'll all be just fine. Regardless if we win the Super Bowl or not.If we can flatten out the yearly hit instead of backloading the deal it'd be nice. They basically agreed on a 3 year ~47mm contract cuz everyone in the room knew that barring any major disaster, 3 years were guaranteed. Hence Linta's smart insistence on guaranteed money against injury.
He's still got 11.8mm that needs to be spread out in an extension from the last signing (not optional) bonus. That means we could lop on a decent bonus to extend til 2020 or 2021, provide a respectable salary that'll keep him hovering around that 20mm annual figure, and flatten the deal out until he's 35-36 and re-assessing how long he wants to stay in the league cuz not all QBs necessarily want to play into their late 30s.
20mm flat a year against the cap would bring his annual chunk of the cap down to 13-14% from 20%. The saved 6 or 7% translates to 10.5mm per year with which to ensure Joe has a solid supporting cast for the rest of his career.
Fair, equitable, considerate deal all around.
Umm Monroe has done very well. He had an injury last year that plagued him but he still held his own. Getting tired of people complaining about Monroe. He was the one who brought this beast O-line together. Remember how it was before Monroe? Michael Oher and a streaky Mckinney. What has he done to warrant this complaining?
I live sizz, I really do but he has alot of drama in his personal life. I know someone who works with the ravens and he knows alot about the players. Sizzle's personality and personal life would not fit well with being an NFL coach. If you were being sarcastic, then ignore.I can't really imagine a universe in which Sizzle wouldn't make a great coach.
Man, I got goosebumps reading that chargers outcome you put. I had to chime in on this one though... How do you see a medicore(if that) dome team like the rams coming into M&T bank stadium and knocking us off? The rams are aweful on the road. I can see a close game, maybe? Or maybe a loss AT st.louis.@DEN - W - come out firing on all cylinders, defense has a strong showing and puts a beating on peyton. (34-17)
@OAK -W - we get off to a slow start in the first half, but end up getting the victory rather easily. offense starts really clicking in 2nd half. (24-10)
CIN -W - tight game thats gets won by a justin tucker feild goal on final drive of the game.( 24-21)
@PIT -L - another slow start, we try to fight back but come up short. our d-line finally gives up a 100 yard rusher to bell. (17-10)
CLE -W - we beat the breaks off of them and put on a show for the home crowd. this is where the offense begins to catch fire. (42-7)
@SF -W - another strong performance from flacco and the offense. kendrick and jimmy get a pair of picks in a poor performace from kaepernick. (31-14)
@AZ -L -we get an early lead but start to sleep on them in the 2nd half, palmer gets them the victory in a close one. (28-24)
SD -W -another classic slow start, rivers make a run in the 4th quarter and as last year starts to replay in our heads will hill takes an interception to the house for the win. (23-13)
JAX -W -we were expected to come in and dominate this game and guess what? thats exactly what we do. (38-13)
STL -L - This is one of those games that we just fall apart. nothing is working on offense and despite the defense keeping us in it, it just wont be enough. ( 16-7)
@CLE -W -this will be one of those afc north specials. we win this one on the ground with a pair of touchdowns from tali.(17-14)
@MIA -W- our vacation to miami. this game really helps us get into a groove and we head back to the bank with confidence. (29-13)
SEA -W - a close game, but lynch cant get anything going on the ground. will hill shuts down jimmy graham on a failed 2 pt. conversion and SSS burns richard sherman to put the game away. (28-24)
KC -L - a discouraging loss in a back in forth game. kansas city kicks a feild goal to win it in overtime. (37-34)
PIT -W - feild goals arent going to win this game, another nail biter but a bomb to perriman wins it. (16-10)
@CIN -W - jimmy smith and the defense has a steller performance and the ravens head into the postseason with steam and home feild advantage (26-13)
12-4 ; AFC North Champions, will face the winner of Dallas @ Green Bay in superbowl 50.
No disrespect you said but then called NFL players knuckleheads. Nice. There are plenty of good men in the NFL.Hes awesome. NO disrespect to others playing the game..but he's a lot deeper of a soul than most NFL players (if not pretty much all of them ). He's got class. Shame their aren't more in this league like him. Just a tonne of knuckleheads
Yea and look who replaced Welker. Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Short quick shifty receivers are very important to have. Alot of corners struggle with guys like that. Especially in an offense like ours. When you have a burner like Breshad Perriman; a strong hands/big bodied receiver in Marlon Brown; Steve Smith who can do it all; Justin Forsett who can take it to the house at any moment, and a QB who loves to throw deep, it's gonna create alot of room over the middle for Campanaro and Maxx Williams. Campanaro can turn a five yard first down into a 20+ yard run easily.Honestly, I think the shifty slot receiver concept is an overrated one to me. For all the hype Welker got over the years, New England won it all without him and he certainly wasn't the catalyst for Denver being good.
I do believe Campanero, or Carter, makes the team though. Just one of them. But unless Brown, Aiken, Waller, Worthy, and Butler all look like trash during OTAs and preseason, I don't see Campanero or Carter getting all that much playing time in this offense.
I'm just saying Torrey and Q for the people that dont know about Perriman. Torrey Smiths speed and Anquan's size. Breshad is big and tall is what I'm trying to say. Its not too often that you find a 6'2", 212 pound reciever that runs a 4.24. And hes only 20 years old so you know he'll bulk up. I wouldnt compare him to Andre neither. I would compare him more to a Julio Jones honestly. Anyway, focus drops are easy to fix. He has good hands, he just doesnt look the ball in before he bolts.i like ur enthusiasm but a mix between torrey and q is just not accurate at all lol.
the most accurate comparison i have seen is demaryius thomas, i also understand michael irvins comparison of andre johnson, very similar styles of play and build, johnson too was considered raw coming out of college, with some refinement and practice on the jugs machine i think he will be every bit as good.
Marlon Brown will shine this year. He has alot of potential and we saw a glimpse of that his rookie year. His ROOKIE YEAR. Give the man 3 years before you blast him. Hes 6'5" and big with strong hands. I guarantee he will do very well this year. I see Marlon and Perriman rotating along with SSS, of course depending on the offensive packages we choose.
Im so pumped about Maxx Williams. The dude has OVER 10 inch hands! Bigger than most o-linemen. Add that with his rediculous long arms and wingspan. I liked him so much I wanted us to draft him in the first round. Good thing we didnt because Breshad Perriman is a beast, also. People are cutting Perriman short which I dont see why. Hes tall and fast. Think of a mix between Torrey and Q. He stopped dropping passes the more experience he had. I expect Perriman to be a flat out stud. I predicted that before we even drafted em.
I think you may want to hold off on that. I think Maxx wants to add either "M" or "MA." In front.http://twitter.com/thatdudecass/status/594955198193336321/photo/1
I got my Williams jersey already in ready for him to dominate!
And Joe still out played Brady. This is getting sad for the Pats. 11of 12 deflated is no accident..
Man, you took the words right out of my mouth. I could make this into a much longer rant but dont have the time.
