  1. We are in a drafting slump that is the main reason for our struggles. we have not hit on our 1st and 2nd picks in a good 5-6 years. CAP is what it is and we got to enjoy low priced deals 08-12 on our star players during their rookie deals, now they are paid or forced to have been traded due to price, this is where our bad drafting has finally caught up we have not restocked our talent like we used to.

  2. so i'm thinking (praying) we can contain Bell at least running the football my concern comes with the dump off and screen game. Last time we played Bell Mosley had a hard time sticking with him in the pass game. Pass rush needs to really show up tonight or its going to a looong game. if we give Vick the time and space we gave Carr it wont be pretty.

  3. Hypothetical thinking; Trade deadline Oct 28th? just after week 7. if we are 1-6 id be alright with it, if we are 0-7 then definitely wouldn't be against it. But only if Steve would appreciate the trade so he can finish with a chance to go all they way. Heck Carolina is 3-0 and need a WR could be a cool story for him to go out with them. With the playoffs all but mathematically over with at that point i'd prefer we rotate in the young guys to see what we have at that position anyway.

Joe is 12th and not the reason were struggling. Ngata not renegotiating for his true value hurt us by not having cap space when we needed it to sign FA's while they were available, you can also thank Ray Rice's 9.5m in dead money. Joe would have easily went elsewhere if we didn't pony up the money it took and we would be without a QB.

  5. Going to take some luck such as an easily dropped pass, blown protections/ coverage's, and maybe a good flag to help out. Bengals are good at everything that gives the ravens trouble, hence the 1/5 record lately. Solid O-line so i'm not to optimistic about getting to Dalton. hopefully Dalton struggles passing and can stop the run. Offense needs to push around the Bengals but  Geno Adkins is back.. optimistic but history says we will have a hard time.

  6. This is a must win.  If the Ravens lose and you can basically write off the season unless this some crazy year where 8-8 gets a wild card.

    - At home we always play better at home the record speaks to that.

    - Offense finally showed up and held the pass rush of Mack, Smith, Tuck very well. there were questionable play calls and missed throws and opportunities but they generated some solid production scored 33 points and missed many more that should build confidence but leave a bad taste to get better.

    - Division game we know what we are facing and didn't have much turnover from last year players know the opponent.

    - To speak to playing the team that beat the raiders.. Rams beat Seahawks lose to the Redskins who lost to Miami who then lose to the Jaguars.. are the jaguars better than the Seahawks? No. NFL is so week to week these days you cant judge one week to the next.

1st home game of the year and stakes couldn't be higher if we lose then we can talk doom and gloom in my opinion.

  7. Players hate the tag because it has no benefits for injury or long term assurance. They're not motivated to play hard because they could risk injury, and that money is all guaranteed. It's not like a regular contract with incentives where they have to earn it.

i understand the dislike of it as the player for the lack of security a long term contract offers. Lets say they play terrible all year to "avoid" injury who is going to pay them the following free agency for a poor season? pretty sure most players are known to perform better on their last year of a contract.  tagging wont make Monroe play worse is all im saying.

  8. ive always viewed the tag as during the season the player will probably play as a well as he can with hopes of a free agency pay day after the season thus needing to play at a high level. yes he will maybe sign the tag as late as possible and miss as much camp as he can but it would be foolish on his end to not play his best to keep his free agency value high.
