I'd not be surprised to see Forsett come out of this with a raise, compensation for allowing the team to finagle this way. And I'd say he earned it.
I saw a tweet which said his contract was basically the same as it was when he was cut. The only change was 100K worth of incentives.
Forsett just got shortchanged from Ozzie just like he did to Anquan Boldin and almost did to TUcker... I can't imagine good FA coming here because of Oz's reputation to not pay out on a full contract. We shouldn't overpay in the first place. No other team would've payed Forsett $3M/ year. Also, how do you ask Boldin to take a paycut after a great season? This is not how a "great" organization is run. Regardless, we save money on Forsett...
Considering contract details haven't yet been announced, I think you're jumping to conclusions.
I wish we could still "like" comments. I would "like" this one a thousand times.
i would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Ozzie had the conversation with Forsett and/or his agent about this. It would have been priceless I'm sure.
Am I the only one who can't get the Steve Smith video play? Tried in Chrome, Firefox and IE (no ad-blocker or flash-blocker in the last two)- it won't play for me :(
I had to refresh the page once but after that I had no problem playing it. I have Windows 7 on a Dell XPS laptop. I used chrome.
Sorry Salamander, I missed the up button and hit the down by accident...... Consider this 2 thumbs up
That's ok. I uped it for you.
Unless I'm at a signing or something like that, I don't think I would have the nerve to ask a celebrity for a picture. I would probably try to maneuver around to unobtrusively take a picture.
I'm not trying to be negative but we had all these impressive stats and yet we had a 5-11 season. It just goes to show you stats how meaningless stats are. You have to play the games.
My question is why did Porter and Munchak not get more than a fine for their action???....Rules clearly state coaches are not a loud on the field, especially in the faces of the opposing team, unless they are checking on a injured player, and Muchak pulling a players hair?? Seriously???? Now as far as the Bengals, you would think Lewis would have more control of the two players on his team with bad reputations....Harbs will bench you if you fumble, imagine what he would do if a Raven behaved like they do in a playoff game...Marvin take control of the team or they will continue to disrespect the game, and the team....
Harbs wouldn't even have the guy on the team in the first place and if he did get on the team he wouldn't last long.
All in all, for a team playing with it's 4th string players, the Ravens looked good today. Shows the coaching is sound. When the 1st string comes back next year they ought to be a force to be reckoned with.
I hope you are right.
I love Chuck Pagano. If he were to lose his job, I wonder if the Ravens could find a way to bring him back to Baltimore.
Wonder if we have the personnel to make it through the season?
I have had the same thought myself.
Let's please not get rid of Joe Flacco. But please let us get an offense line that can block and receivers who can get open. Flacco needs to limit turnovers. Marion Brown has been a major bust and should be cut. Keep Marc Trestman and keep some continuity on offense. Defensive secondary has been a huge problem these last two years. That is a major fix job waiting to happen.
Joe is not going anywhere.
To all those fans out there advocating replacing (fill in the blank) I ask, who do you suggest we replace (blank) with. Before you replace someone you have to be sure what you have waiting is better.
Every team has its share of jerk fans, sadly even the Ravens, however the Patriots seem to have more than thier share. When Joe went down for the season. In the comments sections of a lot of articles I saw a lot of classy comments from Steelers fans wishing Joe a speedy recovery. Most of the articles from Patriots fans were not so classy were along the lines of it being karma for Deflategate. The Ravens had nothing to do with Deflategate . And Patriot fans wonder why everybody hates them.
I don't say this as a knock on Matt Schaub, however I think in the next 6 weeks all the Flacco haters and even those of us who spport him are going to find out exactly what Joe brings to the team because it isn't going to be there.
. This season has been a real disappointment, and I hope all the players on IR will be able to play next year. Until then Matt Schaub can finish the season, he knows the offense and has experience in the league. I hope they don't waist any cap space on someone else. GO RAVENS!
The Ravens have to bring in someone as a backup. But I agree that they shouldn't break the bank.
This is one of the things I love about our Joe Cool. He would scoff at being called courageous, for playing the next few plays after the injury occurred. He is one of the most laid back, humble guys in any sport.! Nothing is too big of a deal for him, and that's why when the preasure is way up Joe's excellence shines !
Good luck with your surgery and recovery Joe ! ! !
Hurry back...
I think Joe is smarter than he is given credit for. Because of his laid back nature he doesn't flaunt the things he does so people don't know and think he is stupid.
I can only imagine how hard it is for Dennis Pitta to not play. While he may not be contributing on the field I'm sure his contributions off the field as a tutor/coach to our young tight ends is invaluable. If indeed it turns out that we have seen the last of Dennis Pitta on the field instead of thinking of it as his last play being carted off the field, he needs to think about it as his last season while healthy ended with a Super Bowl ring.
I love the highlight clips. The ones with Steve Smith, Sr make me sad. I was so hoping his last year would be great one possibly ending with a Super Bowl ring like Ray Lewis. Instead the Ravens have their worst start ever to a season and Steve gets knocked out for the rest of the season with an Achilles tear. I hope everyone that says he will probably come back is correct but I'm not convinced. As I understand it his wife and kids want him to retire. Steve said himself that he wants to have more time to be Dad and attend his son's games. Also Steve had two injuries in the first half of this season. There were the 4 microfractures in his back and the Achilles tear which ended his season. I think Steve Smith, Sr. is smart enough to know that his body maybe telling him something and hang it up. On the other hand I bought into his "The probability of me playing is low." line the second week after the back fracture so what do I know. I would love to be proven wrong.
Heck, watching these videos, I saw Flacco getting sacked by Watt more times than any Ravens highlights.
I hear you. 15 highlights, 15 commercials. Ugh!!
For all you folks saying "Play Pitta". Even if they did play Pitta, it would not be they same Pitta every one is use to seeing from 2012. Pitta has not played football in over a year and is just now starting to practice. He is not in football shape.
For all the fans who are lucky enough to be in M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday; CONGRATULATIONS!....for it's going to be a great day. Our hard working, leave their blood and guts on the field every game are coming home to a rousing (and I mean really rousing) standing ovation that will last for a loooong time. It's well deserved and they deserve no less. Our season now is to build for next year and be spoilers to some of our favorite nemesis...Steelers, Cincy etc. All of which will make the rest of the season enjoyable and well worth watching. Enjoy Sunday, it will be special.
I like your attitude!!
Nothing is any funnier than the comedic brilliance Joe showed in that Pepsi commercial. That is 1 of the best commercials ever by a sports personality.
I love that commercial!
WHats funny is Joe's $100 hair cut lol. That's what happens when your a QB and you get the big bucks.
I like the hair cut myself. It is much more attractive than the buzz cut he usually sports.
