  1. Looking at his stats, I have to say I'm kind of excited about this signing. Lewis seems like he has a nose for the ball. He has 9 total interceptions in five seasons. His pass coverage technique needs work, but I feel like he will be a major contributor to our secondary this year.

  2. Ideally, what should happen this coming season is Will Hill moves to FS, and Elam moves to SS, his natural position. We should get our CB situation settled, which means that Elam won't have to move around and play different positions. Elam has had bad luck since he got here, though. His first season here he couldn't play SS because Ihedigbo was already the starter. This season we were hit hard with injuries at the CB position and as a result Elam had to play the nickel corner role which he failed miserably at. You can't blame all of it on bad luck, however, because he does have his share of tackling and coverage issues. Those issues can and will be corrected this offseason, imo. During 2015 season, Elam should be the full-time starting SS, barring any injuries. Because of this, I think we will see Elam improve his game this coming season.

  3. He did..? I don't exactly remember him doing so well tbh

Per ESPN.com: *QB Keith Wenning: He was a sixth-round draft pick out of Ball State who spent the entire 2014 season on the practice squad. Wenning improved throughout the summer and he showed potential by the preseason finale. He finished 10 of 17 for 140 yards for a 85.4 passer rating in the preseason.

  4. That's a fair concern. That also worries me, but I do think this season showed what Gase can do. The Broncos made a distinctive shift to running the ball more halfway through the season. That's an adjustment made by Gase.

My primary concern with Gase is that he would over-complicate the offense, just like Caldwell did. Flacco and others have said Caldwell's offense was way too complex. Hopefully not the same for Gase.

After the Broncos made that shift, they crashed and burned completely. They lost to teams they should've beat, and it ultimately resulted in them losing in the playoffs. If we hire him, I don't want that to happen to our offense.

  5. truth is if they are proven to be good, there's always a chance they will leave for a promotion to HC. You would have to take a chance on a young, unproven upstart to have it any different. Are the Ravens likely to do that at this point? Probably not given that they have a great core that can compete in the tournament now without a lot of roster changes.

True, but don't you think the FO wants continuity with the OC? I'm sure they don't want to have to find a new OC every offseason. Sure, we are in a good position to make a run at the SB for this season and the forseeable future, but that doesn't mean we should get a new OC every season. If Gase comes in we would be learning a whole new scheme, and that might hurt us offensively. We had some growing pains earlier in the season with Kubiak's ZBS scheme, and we would have similar struggles learning an all new offensive scheme. I think that our team is good enough to take a chance on a relatively unknown OC. We have the playmakers on offense to do so.
