  1. I am befuddled. This draft seems too similar to the 2013 draft. I don't think the Ravens lost games last year because of their D-fense but this draft is not going to make the offense better at all, even down the road. Quite frankly, I am not looking forward to watching a historically bad run offense continue to get 2 yds on what seems like 1/3 if not more of their offensive plays. Add to that, the fact that the Ravens #1 pick's career is full of injuries, I don't have confidence that even the defensive picks will prove to be good for the team. They have done nothing this off-season to convince me that they will be better than last year's 8-8 season. The only saving grace is the soft schedule. Other teams are getting better. Ravens, not so much.
  2. The NFL is converging on 3 types of teams: 1. Those with Elite QBs - Four: New England, Denver, Green Bay, NO 2. Those teams with bargain QBs that are a net positive for their team - Philli, SF, Seattle, Indianapolis, Cinncinnati and KC (though KC is on the fence with Smiths salary) 3. Teams with overpaid QBs or ineffective bargain QBs Regardless of who the new OC is, he is going to have to live with the constraints imposed from having an overpaid QB. Baltimore has joined the list of teams with an overpaid QB along with Dallas, NY Giants, Detroit, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Chicago. I believe these teams will all hang around the .500 mark until they have a chance to get back into the bargain QB market where it will be hit or miss through the draft. I am not saying all the overpaid QBs are not good or even at times great, I am only saying they are overpaid and are not Elite. Elite QBs can win despite the diminished talent as a result of their big contract. They make players around them better. They are both players and coaches on the field. We don't have one of them.
