  1. Hope you picked up one of those cheap tickets to see your team get smoked in person. lol Priceless, huh.

We did get smoked. The Steelers were outplayed, out-coached and out hustled. That was as bad a loss as I have seen in the Tomlin era. The game was not as close as the score. It was a complete head scratcher.

  2. Not sure who "They" are but if you're referring to the Ravens organization, I seriously doubt they are losing money. The secondary market mark-up has disappeared and the seats have been filled up all but for the last few weeks. Even then, I think the majority of those empty seats were paid for, but were no shows.

Don't worry about NFL teams and money. I think they are all generally managing to squeak by.

No, you're right, I was talking about season ticket holders dumping their tickets below face value.

  3. b/c all of the Steeler fans like yourself are buying them.  Thanks for contributing to Baltimore's economy.

You're welcome. I don't mind the city of Baltimore. People are people.  It's good for all the Ravens fans dumping their tickets. They've been losing money up until this week.  B)

  4. There is nothing I would love more than to knock the Steelers out of the playoffs but the probability of that happening is slim and dim with either Clausen or Schaub under center. Neither knows what its like to be in a Ravens - Steelers game. It will be a rather rude awakening for either of them. With Joe throwing to a group of total novice receivers, we at least had a chance to win. Without Joe, we have a snowball's chance in a furnace to win. However, there are three ways we can possibly win. First, we wear the black jerseys and gold pants to make ourselves look like the Steelers; this will confuse the helmetless motorcycle riding Steelers QB and he will throw the balls into the waiting hands of our marvelous secondary. Secondly, if we hit Big Ben over the head with Ryan's Mallett and force him into concussion protocol, the Steelers' backup QB will make it a level playing field.  Finally, we need to deflate Pittsburgh's footballs. Apparently, there is no penalty in the NFL for doing so. I know this strategy sounds extreme but its a better game plan than faking a punt from your own 17 yard line on a 4th down and 9 yards to go in the first half when you're trailing by only 14-7. Seriously though, I have a feeling this one will get real ugly very quickly.

Okay, that was some funny stuff. "Hit Big Ben over the head with Ryan's Mallett." LOL

  5. I love how the media thinks Seattle is on some hot streak as of late. Their hot streak is as real as our defense being improved when all we did was face bad offenses. Since losing to the Cardinals the Seahawks have faced the 49ers, Steelers, Vikings and us. The Seahawks host the Browns on Sunday, another team with a bad record. Then they play the Rams(who they lost to in week one) and finish with the Cardinals who they lost to earlier in the season.

They are 2-4 against teams with a winning record this season, with the only two wins coming against Minnesota and Pittsburgh. Their four losses, 3 of which came from the NFC, Carolina, Green Bay and Arizona.  The other was to Cincinnati.

The Hawks have won four straight road games...not an easy feat no matter what teams they were...because my kids are Hawks fans, I watch every one of their games. They are playing at a high level right now. Russell Wilson has had an historic month at QB. Remember, a 9-7 Giants team knocked off the unbeaten Patriots in the SB. Its not how you start a season, its how you finish. The Hawks certainly have the capacity, the experience and the momentum to beat the Panthers or Cardinals.

  6. The Seahawks will need to prove they can beat those two teams, which have both beaten them already. The games will not be in Seattle, either.

  7. Other than the possibility of a random drunk acting stupid, you should not have a problem wearing your team gear.

We had a great time and honestly, felt welcomed. People around us asked about the city of Seattle and wished my son luck for the rest of the season.  They treated him very well. Late in the game, the Hawks fans were chanting and the hard core Ravens fans who were left booed loudly to drowned out the opponents celebration. I respect that. One funny moment happened when the Hawks scored their final touchdown. My son was cheering and an inebriated fan said, "What are you celebrating? You are beating a 4th string team." Everyone in the area had a good laugh. Clausen actually played pretty well for only being around for a couple weeks.

  8. It's mostly just reserved for Steeler fans due to their obnoxious behavior in our earlier years. Your son should be okay as long as he remembers he's in OUR house and behaves accordingly. Then again, random drunks are unpredictable, so keep an eye out.

What? Steeler fans obnoxious?  Thanks for the input!

  9. Okay, so my job took me to Seattle for many years. I had two sons born there. They are big Hawks fans. (Yes, they gave it too me bad a couple weeks ago!) I am bringing one of my sons to the game as a Christmas present. No, I will not be sporting any Steeler gear. I have been to a few games at the Bank in my Steeler stuff...took a brutal verbal beating with a lot of drunken F-Bombs. Especially the year right after Ben's Georgia fiasco. (Yes, I was at the "No means no" game!) Is it just Steeler fans who get this royal welcome? What kind of response will a teenager in Hawks gear get from the hometown fans?

  10. Steelers fans call Flacco "Jump Ball Joe" but Ben's entire offensive gameplan today has been "heave it downfield and hope something happens."

No pass interference calls and most of those long passes have been dropped right in the bread basket. The reason steeler fans say that is how many times Joe's long drives include at least to PI's and one for about 40 yards. Probably some perception on our part...but thats where it comes from.

  11. Only the Ravens, Jets, and Giants aren't afraid of the Pats.

Everyone else is scared for whatever reason. It's annoying.

Agree, Two NY teams and the Ravens punch them in the mouth, even if they lose the game. I hate how our guys crawl under a rock when we play them. I blame Tomlin. I think he is mostly a good coach but has a couple weaknesses, the Pukes are one of them.
