I thought I was wrong...but I was mistaken! http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25444243/this-is-why-ryan-shazier-wasnt-flagged-for-head-shot-to-gio-bernard
I think I was wrong about the Shazier hit. So i will own that. But the "objective" statement was about the flags for the whole game. Here are the penalty totals: Steelers 10 for 142 yards....Bengals 8 for 79. So before those last two flags in the final 18 seconds it was 6 for 49. Most of the flags were on the Steelers. Without penalties, the Bengals would never have scored that first TD and gotten back in the game. Without an inadvertent whistle, Shazier scores a TD. So, in spite of your irony radar....I will stand by the "objective observers " statement. The refs DID NOT remotely favor the Steelers in that game. And they did not hand them the game. The Bengals had numerous opportunities to win that thing.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/john-harbaugh-gets-penalty-for-being-on-the-field--unlike-dez-bryant-001655082.html;_ylt=AwrBT71g8ZFW8yUAgrpXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEyY2Y2ZW8zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDQjExNjBfMQRzZWMDc3I- Bro, your guy spends half the game on the field.
I know you guys still hate the Steelers. I know you still think we have dirty players. But the majority of posts in here saw the garbage of Burfict for what it was. I also appreciate those who wished AB well. Tip of the hat.
Well, Burfict singlehandly assassinated our three best weapons: Bell, Brown and Ben....so unless we get guys back it won't matter which one we face...but yes, Manning doesn't really scare me...their defense does.
Read the NFL rule book. Commentators were right about both. Whether you like the rule or not, it was properly enforced. And there is no way an objective observer can say that the flags were weighted for Pittsburgh. Burfict bought and paid of the loss and Lews is responsible for allowing the climate.
How big is it that Shazier had a TD but because whistle happy ref blew too soon, otherwise it would have been 22-0 without out the charity crap that followed?
Agree. BTW, we are starting Toussaint on Saturday, a guy who had a cup of coffee with the Ravens. Some fans were kicking around the idea of bringing in Ray Rice. I don't think the Steeler brass considered, though. I think the Ben Tate experience against you guys last year told them to use an in house guy who knows the offense.
I think this is actually the Joey Porter rule. But it is a rule and Burfict is lucky he wasn't tossed. I accept your comments on the Bengals...sorry I misread you.
Yep, he is very talented and aggressive. Thats football. Its just the "your team cheats and intentionally tries to hurt people but my team plays above board and only retaliates to your stuff' that makes me shake my head. By NFL rule, Burfict should have been ejected before the game started for crossing the 50. Its a plain and simply rule and he broke it. And AJ Green should have been penalized for punting the football, another plain violation. This whole narrative that the Steelers get away with everything and others don't is a crock. I know you aren't saying this...its the Bengal guy I was responding to.
Just curious if you watched how Burfict played in the last match-up? Did you cheer his low hits, late hits and penalized and fined plays? And if I used your logic...should I assume that Le Veon Bell was intentionally injured by the Bengals? Should I expect cheap hits from Burfict or others to try and put Ben or AB out of the game? Seriously, do you actually think a Steelers uniform means the guy has a black heart and a Bengals uniform makes him Mother Teresa in orange stripes? This total lack of objectivity is the worst thing about some fans.
I can't see that being a winning attitude. These guys wanted to be division champs. Its not as if the Seahawks are completely unbeatable. That being said, Seahawks by 10.

Well, "good guys" is in the eye of the beholder , but the Ravens definitely showed more heart in that game. I'm not a "fire Tomlin" guy, but I came close that day! AFC has no dominate team, so there is some reason for optimism, even with our defense.
