  1. Both the offensive side of the ball and the defensive side of the have a QB to make the calls and adjustments. If those two guys don't do a good job recognizing what the other team is doing , the play calling won't matter.

Weddle has appeared to do a great job of getting guys into position. The defense has most of the same guys from last year and the same DC. Yet, the defense has made improvements.

Until Joe gets the offense in the right play, recognize mismatches and deliver the ball accurately on a consistent basis, the offense will struggle. I want to see Joe display command of the offense.

Currently Joe has the 33rd ranked QB rating, 31st in yards per attempt. He must do better than that no matter what plays are called in order for the Ravens to have a chance. If things go south , I would sit Joe down and see what Mallet can do. Joe needs to be held accountable. If the O-line can't protect him, then preserve him until the o-line can get healthy.

I wonder if Flacco's best days are behind him. He looks lethargic and constantly throws off his back foot now. Bad sign. Ravens need to pay some attention to getting a younger QB ready. Did we pass over the guy in Philly?

The NYG don't have much of a pass rush, so I am hopeful our ever-patchwork O-Line can open some holes and give Joe some time. We may be down SSS and Wallace, so Aiken and the TE's will have to pick up the slack.

Conversely, we need to manufacture a pass rush. I think Judon has been more productive than Doom, so I'm glad he'll get some more reps. Correa will be playing inside and out as well. Here's hoping he plays with a bit more abandon like he did early in camp, and flashes that talent the Ravens are so high on.

Finally, with Hester limping around, we need to be extra conservative with our return game. Don't run it out of the end zone and, if necessary, let the punts bounce where they may.

Wallace is active and will likely see an increased role.

funny how no one even mentions Perriman.....not a fan of Aiken, he doesn't get open.

  3. Some comments:

    1. the OL is not blocking well enough to run the ball effectively
    2. the OL is not keeping the defense off Flacco
    3. the receivers are not getting open, hence the completions 'under the coverage'
    4. no pass rush and spotty DB coverage
    5. our defense seems to run out of gas late in the game....wonder about conditioning

Changing the OC may help some but the players are responsible for the last two losses. The second half schedule is tougher. As reported recently, if Harbaugh was thinking about changing the OC during the off season why not pull the trigger then instead of doing it now. It would have benefited the entire offense to work with the new guy during the pre-season. Is this his last season?

  4. Some of the decisions are so baffling it's 3rd and 9 near the 20 yard line, rather than let Flacco throw the ball and attempt a first down or Touchdown. We run it on 3rd and 9 essentially settling for a FG (right...) wrong! Then we go for a fake FG, now I don't understand the flawed thinking that 3rd and 9 was too long to attempt a pass with our QB but 4th and 11 was just perfect for or kicked to try a fake FG pass?

Setup dump off passes to Gilmore the least athletic TE on the roster, but no WR smoke screens, crossing patterns to WRs.

Commentators talking about how the man to man coverage is locking everything down, meanwhile WRs running 7 yard routes and sitting.  There isn't any downfield complementary routes that draws defenders away creating passing lanes.

If teams are playing man all day put some WRs in motion, to create spacing in those underneath routes so WRs can be hit in stride..

...and when Harbs was asked about the decision on the fake FG he seemed angry to be asked. Shows you his ego got in the way again. Clearly, that was bad play selection and he gave up 3 points. He gets a by for the rest of this season but Trestman goes at the break. I think they lose one of the games @ NJ. It they finish out of the playoffs, Harbs has had it. A question, is Flacco on the downside already?

Shareece suffers from lackofapassrushistis. Ya cant cover guys forever.

Crabtree gave him the business regardless of a pass rush. Those quick moves had Shareece every time.

I partially agree, no pass rush against the Raiders put pressure on the defensive backfield......but check out the move Crabtree put on #24 for the winning touchdown. Don't think this guy can play.

  6. Wondering if Flacco is on the downside? I know he was injured and rehabbed during the off season but he hasn't thrown the ball well this season. All his throws are underneath and many are underthrown or otherwise off target. Hope not but he doesn't look good to me. Those last 4 throws against the Raiders were an example. The last one to Aiken looked to be on target but he was triple teamed (low percentage). The ball should have gone to someone else.

  7. Harbaugh said, "A guy's health is really important"! We want guys' to be healthy!!  Then please, please for the love of everything football......don't have Hurst blocking Joe's blind side!!! Hurst at LT is :notwork:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looked to me Wagner couldn't handle the rush from the Raven's right side....constant pressure on Flacco from that side.

  8. Don't get the last two play calls. Oakland blitzing on all four downs. Why not run a draw play on second or third down? Also, with all the tight ends we have why throw into triple coverage to Aiken (??) on fourth and game on the line? Poor play calls by Trestman or Flacco. Remember him with the Browns back in Kozar days and he was the same. .....poor play calling.

  9. What, exactly, is the "foot area"? It's either part of the foot or it's not. Modern medicine deals with specificity. Please either spell out what the problem was or stop referring to it all. Something that happened in the general vicinity of his foot is unhelpful.

it must be serious....it's taking too long to heal.....they are not telling us what is going on.

Joe had a flea flicker and missed a wide open WR but I guess that's Trestman fault! All they had to do is get a 1st down and Joe didn't get it done PERIOD!

Interesting how you neglected to mention that Mack was busy steamrolling Joe while he was trying to get the ball out, due to the absolute crap job by our OL

So if the pocket is collapsing why doesn't Joe slide up to a open spot or move the pocket like I see Big Ben and Andy Dalton do?! They move around extend the play to get results and the O line did good enough to get the run game going so why can't Joe run a flea flicker and miss an open WR?! I am losing confidence in Joe and he needs to step his game up because teams will always rush the edges and if he doesn't keep his head on a swivel teams will continue to get behind him and cause more sacks and fumbles!

You do realize Joe is coming off of major knee surgery less than a year ago, and is dragging around a cumbersome knee brace on his 6'6" frame, right? How mobile do you expect him to be, when he is a pretty big guy to begin with? He got hit pretty good in the ribs yesterday early, not to mention getting hit or chased the majority of the game, he NEEDS BETTER PROTECTION, period.

Purpledawg.....not Flacco's game. As mentioned, he's coming off a knee injury. The best offensive performances for the Ravens will be when the OL blocks for him. Wagner needs to get going. He let his guy in many times during the afternoon. Also, don't like Aiken, move him down on the list.
