  1. 120.6 M for hot garbage. In other news congrats to Flacco on the new Ravens interception mark by quarterbacks. Way to reward the Ravens front office for their trust. The #5 jersey is in the trash where it belongs!!

  2. After watching the Ravens all season and their inept play at quarterback it was nice to see great play from that position yesterday. To all the folks that said Flacco was better than Luck and Smith. I understand love the one you're with concept but none the less LMAOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Another week gone by of pathetic offense. I don't know what's worse, the offensive line, Ray Rice, or Flacco not being able to take his game to the next level. Speaking of Flacco I haven't watched one game this season counting preseason in which I felt comfortable about the money invested in this guy. He continues to have the same warts, lack of field vision, staring down recievers , poor pocket awareness, lack of football IQ when it comes to time management, down and distance, cr...

  9. Cue up the next scapegoat at OC. Evidently team around the NFL understand Caldwell wasn't the problem. It starts with a guy that doesn't work as hard as he needs to. Manning works outside the facility with his recievers . Hard work pays off in performance Flacco.

  10. Flacco gets worst grade of any Ravens from PFF in the Ravens 6 point loss to the Browns. To hear the usual suspects on this site tell it he played great. Flacco has an elite type contract but delivers journeyman statistics. This team is in deep, deep trouble with that contract.

      Real Ravens Fan

Flacco had a bad game, partly due to the windy conditions. Flacco is an Elite QB! He proved that last year. The O-line and bad play calling is what is the problem. You could see last Sunday, when Joe was given the keys to the offense, that he is the offense! What I don't understand is, why Ozzie paid him the biggest contract in the history of the NFL, and Harbs didn't give Joe the keys in week 1. You don't pay someone and then not let them do what they do best.

    3. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

Anyone who relies on PFF grades knows squat about football. They are beyond non-credible.

    4. MissRay27

      MissRay27

Joe rolled the dice and earned his big pay day chiefly for helping to win the Superbowl. His contract along with Rice, Ngata, Suggs, Webb, and Yanda are huge cap eaters. So, there will be little room for improving the roster except through the draft and we all know that means hard times are coming. I suggest the next three years will be retooling years, maybe the Ravens can remain relevant, but we as fans will have to be patient. We've been treated to good a very good five year run.

  11. Flacco is in over his head. His demands to be compensated for far more than his value as a player will undermine this team for years to come.

      Malkavian Raven

For instance, Joe's cap hit this year is only $6.8M, that includes signing bonus. T-Sizzle is nearly DOUBLE that with $13.02M this year. Why can't he close out games when our offense gives them the lead?

    3. Hardbaugh

      Hardbaugh

Any educated fan understands the ramifications of 120.6 million and 20.1 million AAV. If the Ravens can't win now they will find tougher sledding when more of Flacco's dollars count against the cap. Hence , Flacco is in over his head. As Flacco received more and more autonomy in the offense (something he campaigned for BTW) not only his numbers suffer but the whole offense is sinking as well.

    4. theFRANCHISE

      theFRANCHISE

It's all relative. Flacco's performance last year, especially in the postseason, determined his value in the market. If you want someone to blame, don't blame Flacco. Blame Mark Sanchez and his contract; his production was lesser than Flacco's when he had signed his own extension and that resulted in Flacco getting big bucks for having played extraordinarily better.

  12. Good article by Preston! It turns my stomach to think where the ravens will be at when Joe's real money kicks in the following year. This team isn't going to be able to afford to surround him with the cast he needs to occasionaly rise above average or below average performance.

    1. callahan09

      callahan09

Flacco was the least of our problems on offense yesterday. Like the entire team top to bottom, he made some mistakes too, but if his receivers didn't drop 8 passes and if his line could block on the right side, we are talking about a completely different ball-game. I dunno what was in the water yesterday, but it effected this entire team, they were all playing like they didn't get any sleep or something. Hopefully the TEAM can perform better next time. Thursday comes quick. Enoug...

  13. Having trouble understanding how Torrey can work out with Cam but Flacco can't find the time to workout with his own reciever. Just learning the playbook, excuse 1001,,, Yeah that's the ticket.

  15. I'd love to see Flacco show up for more than the 4th quarter. Last week he showed up for two quarters. Here's hoping this is the first week this season the Ravens get three solid quarters of football out of him. He's the highest paid player on the field with a 20.1 AAV so act like it with the performance and leadership. See Peyton Manning or "winning" Tom Brady.

Overall this season I am not too dissapointed in Flacco, but I will never agree that he deserved that contract.

    3. Hardbaugh

      Hardbaugh

At Gabefergy- The problem is the organization tried to transition to an offensive oriented team and doesn't have to personnel to pull it off. For years Flacco has campaigned for more autonomy in the game plan and at the line of scrimmage, he has it and he's looking up at rookie Bill's quarterbacks in QB rating. I hope he can do better but quite frankly at 20.1 AAV the last thing I'd like to hear is excuses. This is most of his own doing and will more than likely be Flacco...

    4. markbuilds

      markbuilds

Our receivers do not get anywhere near the separation that other elite receivers do. Then, when Flacco puts the ball right in there hands we get drops. Flacco still has his inconsitent problems, but I'll still cut him slack. He needs a running game, better pass blocking, receivers that know how to run routes and catch the ball and he needs to stop getting hit so much.

  16. If Flacco keeps playing this well he might just make me Wacco........Keep it rolling, Ravens!

    1. stampedehero

      stampedehero

Even is he had 3 TD passes and we had two running TDs that would set me good.

  18. Just a week away from the draft. Planning out my snacks and beverages. Next Thursday can't come fast enough.

  19. LOL, the "great" Joe Flacco is only six spots ahead of Geno Smith in quarterback rating. There's guys on the street you can find putting up these kind of numbers never mind paying 120.6 over 6 or 20.1 AAV. In Ozzie I don't trust

  20. Looks like compensatory pick information will be release next monday at the owners meetings . I'm thinking two 4ths, one 5th and a 6th. Hope to see two 4ths and two 5ths as some predict but with the Reed release it may cost. Hope to be pleasently surprised!

  21. One Quarterback fresh out of a tree stand and the other playing like a deer caught in the headlights. Even with the dumbed down playbook ,pathetic peformance Flacco. S.O.S.

I almost donated my Ravens 5 jersey to the Goodwill but decided to burn it in effigy if Flacco doesn't dial it up next season and play up to the contract he whined for. I need to see top ten in QB rating or will burn the jersey in an attempt to exorcise the demons and all that ails his game.

Hopefully I'll be wearing it at a Super Bowl party. ;-)

on the "another note" lol; it should have been flagged, even if its not intentional, its breaking a rule(accidental PI is still a flag alot of times)but i dont think a player should get a fine for something unintentional. whether it was intentional or not is all speculation, but i dont think it was, regardless of how dirty the lions reputation is.
