Man I feel like someone close to me just died, lol
We all figured we were looking to next year after October, let's get better, the real run happens next year. Pending a miracle we weren't going to win the SB, obviously it was preferred to go, it's always preferred, but it is what it is. We know the mistakes and we have the checklist of needs, gear up for a long off season.
2 minutes ago, Tank 92 said:Yeah, he was pretty bad yesterday and we let him off the hook.
I'm sick from it, I hope he gets exposed in the playoffs. No holding called the entire game on them.
I think we blow the Bengals out and it starts a new era of dominance over them.
4 minutes ago, SteelerEmpire said:I could see the Ravens putting up 27 pts on the Steelers D, but not the Steelers putting up 31 on the Ravens...esp with the 2 picks by Ben - I thought this game was a rap in the Ravens favor . It's still apparent these two teams still bring out the best in each other. Don't know what the Steelers are gonna do with this W, but good game once again bros...
You overestimated Dean Peas, I knew when we left multiple TDs on the field we would lose and you'd steel the game, classic Steeler steel last night.
14 minutes ago, redrum52 said:Lmao... You must not realize how awful that team would be without Luck. That dumpster fire is due to one of the worst FO in the league. If Flacco was forced into a Luck type situation here, we'd be drafting top 10. Not many would succeed in that situation.
No I see it and agree, but he's heralded as a sure fire top 3 guy, I think he needs to prove it a little more. I'd take Luck, one of few QBs I'd take over our guy. But he seems to be excused from a lot of mistakes, I call him overrated but I still think he's very good, better than Ben.
Ben is the most overrated QB in the league next to Andrew Luck
9 minutes ago, Rav'n Maniac said:No offense but, I don't understand how people can call that a drop when it was easy to see the defender forcing the ball out after the catch. It was a good defensive play on their part and it stripped us of a TD there. It 's almost unbelievable that lightening can strike this team twice in the same manner as the Lee Evans strip.
Yea it was somewhat reminiscent but only about 1/20th as painful
I don't care what anyone says, we're the better team and we let them off the hook. If this is the big bad Steelers we have to fear than I look forward to next year with a better roster.
51 minutes ago, ratedr said:His receivers are also amazing at generating YAC, vs. our guys who fall down at the first tap of contact.
Very true, Ben had always had better WRs , if Flacco only had Steve in his prime, or Mason.
12 minutes ago, BmoreBird22 said:I did feel there were a lot of missed holds on some of Bell's runs. He's so damn patient that the more the players have to hold their blocks, the more they ACTUALLY hold. I thought there were some missed ones, like on Bell's reverse field touchdown.
With Zuttah, I just don't know where you're going to find better. I thought the hold was incredibly dumb, but what good centers are just out there when the Ravens may need a LG, too?
I thought this as well, looked like a block in the back on his one TD. When your team gets called for 0 holding that's pretty favorable.
1 minute ago, BmoreBird22 said:I thought it was uncatchable at first, but after seeing the replay, he's running right under it if he isn't held.
I can concede this one, the Zutah hold and the fact that 0 holding was called on them, Perriman getting blasted Burfict on AB style but Mosley getting the call were favorable for them.
By no means and I'm blaming the officials, and missed holds happen, when you have a dominate pass rush you give the refs multiple chances to make those calls, not one of 30. Zutah's play makes me more mad at him because it was a hold and it didn't need to happen, Zutah needs to be a backup next year.

It's expected they'll get the benefit of officiating, they dont call this then they shouldn't of called the hold on Zutah. Ben chucks up a prayer to a kick returner and gets a gift PI on a non catchable pass to change the game but he gets the praise and Flacco is the one who just chucks it up hoping for PI
@rmcjacket23 I think this game is another good illustration of how terrible and misleading the traditional passer rating (qbr is awful too) is, icing on the cake is Ben getting a 103 rating, just irks me. I thought he was terrible last night and extremely fortunate we gifted him 7 easy passes to end the game. Because he doesn't have to pass to run like we did he benefits, all the emphasis is on YPA and CP.
2 hours ago, kbman said:Yes, we were SO much better with Kyle Boller, Elvis Grbac, Stoney Case, Scott Mitchell, Troy Smith, Anthony Wright, Jeff Blake, Chris Redman, etc.
Joe played a good game today. You want he should go out and catch the ball after he passes it?
Go easy on him, he's 12 he wasn't alive for that stuff
14 minutes ago, Edgar said:This game comes down to a pass rush severely lacking. Any semblance of reliable pressure and this game isn't close.
I really don't understand why Albert McClellan is our starting outside backer. I'm sure he works hard and is an effort guy but there is no getting around how average he is. This guy seriously worked his way into the starting lineup this year? Unacceptable.
I like both backs. A nice one two tandem. I love Stanley. No pressure lost us this game...bears repeating.....pass rush was atrocious and Weddle blitz is telegraphed.
Mosley played well overall. Steelers defense was almost as horrible as ours.
Bad snap cost us.
Joe was great. Best Raven on the field....better than Roethlisberger today..really great. He has to play this way all the time. He's shown what he CAN do and this is what is to be expected going forward....no more sleepwalking through a half routinely. He needs focus every game...because they're all playoff games.
He was off more than he was on this year and he has to fix that going forward.
Any Dungy was atrocious.
Another reason Passer Rating is a joke, Ben had a 103 today, I thought he looked terrible, we let him off the hook.
14 minutes ago, Militant X 1 said:This game was actually a reflection of the Ravens entire season. And, I'd love to see a few things happen.
Offensively: The O-line needs to be a MAIN PRIORITY! Take a page out of Dallas' playbook on that. We also need some new receivers badly. SSS will retire and Aiken is pure trash. That leaves us with Wallace, Perriman, Campanaro and Moore. Not nearly world beaters to be honest. We're good at the TE spot once everyone is healthy with Maxx, Crockett and Boyle. Pitta? Don't know. RB's? West and Dixon are a great 1-2 punch. Juice is beasting at FB so we're good there imo.
Defensively: Suggs and Doom ARE DONE!!! Neither one of those cats got any significant QB pressure on Big Ben tonight. We need younger and fresher, faster and stronger lions at the OLB spots to rush the passer. Mosley and Orr are solid MLB's that's improving in their coverage play. And we definitely need some new corners and safeties that's for sure. As far as OC and/or DC moves? Both Pees and Marty have glaring weaknesses and habits that they just can't seem to shake that costs us games imo. They both may need to go...sooner rather than later! Their replacements? I'll think on it.
Well then me and you are on the same page, I really like Stanley, Young and Dixon so far, trying to focus on the positives.
5 minutes ago, PuRock said:This is a really sickening loss because there were so many moments in this game that if one thing occurred, it could have changed the outcome in our favor.
-We stop Brown at the 1. They have to spike and maybe have enough time to kick a FG.
-We were a second away from stripping Ben from behind on a throw late in the game.
-If Juices knee goes down at the 1 yard line. We could have shaved at least another 30 seconds off the clock.
-If Denis and Joe connect on one of their two failed TD attempts.
And don't forget Waller and hell, granted it would of been amazing, but Perriman hauls in that catch wow. So many it hurts, and your 3rd bullet is a brutal form of irony, but obviously no guarantee we score there (though we probably do) if he did go down.
17 minutes ago, Militant X 1 said:Friends of mine who are fans of other NFL teams kept saying to me; "Now that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are gone; Flacco will never lead the Ravens to another Super Bowl and ya'll probably won't make the playoffs for years to come!" By no means am I laying this loss tonight in Flacco's lap because he did what he could. He played pretty well and had no INT's. He even marched us down the field and got us the go ahead touchdown by Juice for the potential win. However, the offense still couldn't score TD's in a few red zone trips, receivers dropping key passes, special teams bobbling a FG attempt snap for the first time and then the defense once again folded like a cheap suit in the 4th quarter. Suggs/Doom had NO PASS RUSH whatsoever. Big Ben remained upright and was able to scramble out a few times. This team is shot! There needs to be a major overhaul of some kind to take place from the coaches, the offense and the defense in order to right the ship. Cause the reality is that it is sinking fast in this post Lewis/Reed era.
Literally every part of this, including the jabs friends give since we're both out of state fans at the present moment. Bengal fans can't say anything this year and I still want the sweep.
1 minute ago, Militant X 1 said:You was on point with that come from behind scenario. Just not for the win.
That's cruel man lol
I had a bad feeling after the first half, seen too many Raven Steeler games, when you miss that many opportunities it's coming back to haunt you, it did.
3 minutes ago, Militant X 1 said:Their "audition" or "statement" for keeping them has been made all season long. A lot of people need to be looking for a new job in the morning.
Really sickening loss, so many missed opportunities Mili, story of the year I suppose. Trying to erase it from memory but I'm sure if Mosley didn't have a bad angle he could of stopped Brown.
Do you see a new OC and/or DC here next season? We'll definitely need to supplement the loss of Smith Sr. I'm assuming likely through FA.
I hope to see a lot of Perriman, Moore and Smith this Bengals game, I love Dixon.
Another bad drop followed by a good, clutch(ish) catch, you can't make this stuff up with this guy, but I'm still on board for the record.
1 minute ago, PuRock said:Imagine if you told Ravens fans at the beginning of the season that Joe would throw for over 4,000 yards for the first time in his career. We'd all envision a successful season like 10-6 or 11-5. This was the ugliest 4,000 yard season. Definitely not how any of us would have pictured a 4,000 yard season.
Ironic isn't it?
Now to check off 30TDs next season, that can't look ugly can it?? lol
2 hours ago, Ravensdoordie said:Yeah this is a classic game .... Meeting of the mindless coaches that their stupid owners keep around
until their teams go so far downhill they end up being a shell of what they once were....
Maybe Hardhead and Marvin laughingstock Lewis can get together and open up a hot dog stand...
You're right, 10 playoff wins and a super bowl .628 career win % vs 0-7 playoff record and barely above 500 at .528%, man Harbaugh sucks and definitely the same caliber as Lewis
27 minutes ago, Grapple Raven said:Oh, stick around the party isn't over, lol.
Yea we need Trent Dilfer back didn't you hear? Lmao
25 minutes ago, Gruntled Ravens Fan said:He was the number 1 seed with the Titans back in 2008. But no, I understand why it probably wouldn't be the best idea. Plus I didn't know he hated Baltimore.
Yea he did, Joe's first playoff win!
Yea he has history from the old, classic AFC Central division, take the current AFCN and add at the time a great Jacksonville and Tennessee squad.
Ravens - Titans 1999-2003 was what the Ravens - Steelers of today is like, Ray Lewis vs Eddie George, Jamal Lewis vs Bullock and Kearse, McNair, Derrick Mason on the other side.
We blocked them from their SB run with ours, and a lot of bad blood was built between him and our organization.

I want the win against this division rival, they tied the overall series 20-20 last year, a sweep is a move in the right direction. They're exactly the franchise that would want to lose this game, we're better than that, besides we'd probably end up drafting some project that never plays anyway.
