Also signing Jefferson and Carr were two great moves in solidifying our secondary.
So we have some solid starters on D- Line and Secondary, and we can add depth players via draft. The question marks are ILB and OLB spots vacated by Zach Orr and Elvis Dumervil. We will draft for both of those spots, the question is in which rounds. Also depends on Correa and Judon and their readiness to be a full time starter.
On the Offense, assuming Woodhead will compensate for loss of Jusczyk, and John Urschel takes over Center spot vacated by Zutah, we certainly need a solid starter replacement for Wagner at RT.
That is the biggest glaring hole at this time. Gotta be addressed, preferably by signing FA or draft. As for some folks(and pundits) wishing for drafting shiny WR in 1st round, I say we have Wallace & Perriman as WR1 & WR2,. And we can put Campanaro in the slot. Yes, we need to draft WR , but does it have to be in 1st round? We drafted LT Stanley last year, and Perriman year before that. Will Ozzie go Offense in 1st round again this year?
Yes, Mike Williams. Enough neglecting Flacco, don't worry though, he'll be long gone , probably another weapon for poor Dalton and we'll draft some DT or LB.

Starting, albeit unspectacular, CB on a playoff team
Never missed a game in 9 year career.
...... I honestly don't have a single complaint
So he's due for an injury is what you're saying
Forget trading him to Cleveland, let's get Peyton Manning out of retirement
16 hours ago, bigcatfrank1 said:so you say, NE is a balanced team so "big time players" may or may not mean "better". Just like all NFL teams they will lose some players as well.
The Ravens have one of the best records in the NFL vs New England.
They have lost to Indy, Cinci and Pitsburgh in the playoffs, these have cost them much more severely.
Well definitely not Cincy, they haven't won a playoff game since 1990, and we haven't lost to Indy since 2009 in the playoffs, Pittsburgh finally beat us last year after a long draught and they were super bowl favorites while we were mediocre, they got lucky.

and it's hard to criticise flacco for needing first round guys when he's never really had any... perriman and Stanley are the only offensive first rounders since Michael oher and flacco himself - he hasn't even had that much second round help either: maxx Williams, KO, Torrey smith and ray rice
not that I think flacco performed well enough last year but the team has consistently trusted him to play well without major resources being spent on offence which, despite all the narratives to the contrary, is not something Brady and other great qbs in the league have had to do all too often
It's maddening that some don't see this. My god look what Andy Dalton and Matt Ryan have been spoiled with, and Matt Ryan just choked and sickenly gave NE another super bowl

Ravens wired is pretty good

have no issue paying for a site we ourselfs run though.
as for info i guess nfl.com will be fine and hello no to twitter and facebook.
Honestly NFL.com is pretty awful too, I prefer Baltimore media outlets versus 'expert' analysis that only focuses on 6 teams. The QB index by Rosenhaul is laughable.

It has gotten ridiculous. Maybe the boards are closing just in time, the trolls have gotten worse and worse
I do agree with this, a lot of people saying unfounded statements that simply don't reflect reality

He just happened to be the QB on the Championship caliber team of 2012. Until many of the pieces of our team get much better (much, much better), he will never guide us to another Championship. Can't wait for Mallett to somehow get into the mix.
This statement is simply absurd and demonstrates a complete lack of understanding.

At least, we landed some key pieces with CJ Mosley and Eric Weddle.
We had the best shot to return to the Super Bowl in 2014 with Kubiak's offense until we got Belichicked like the Falcons.
We can't laugh at the Falcons when we threw away a 14 point lead.
At least it was on the road, we over achieved, and were basically starting a practice squad secondary at that point, and the patriots had the deceptive substitution BS in that game too. Falcons blown lead was way worse.

I love you guys.
Last offseason the Dolphins for example lost Olivier Vernon and Lamar Miller bc someone else paid a crap ton.
Worked out for Houston and the NYG bc they had a ton to spend.
But by not being idiots the Dolphins made the playoffs for the first time in forever and still have flexibility to add.
Hurts losing guys but you can't complain that we never have cap to make moves and then also complain that we're not signing a NT to $10m+ and a good RT to $9m+.
If we werent good enough last year how does it makes sense to commit another $20m+ for the next 5 years to keep the same, not good enough roster.
Gotta spread that money out to grab talent in more impactful positions.
Good point, the same people complaining about our roster are now complaining about us not matching big offers to keep that same roster
1 hour ago, rmcjacket23 said:I wonder how many years fans will say that we will be picking in the top 5 until it actually comes true. Its like watching a blind squirrel. Whiff on it every single year.
Heck, two years ago we had half our team on IR including our franchise QB, and we STILL didn't even pick in the top 5.
You guys gotta start trying harder...
Will you be posting on Ravens Reddit from here on out? They could use a level headed poster or two. For real, 2007, 2013 and 2015 are as bad as I can remember and we still didn't draft top 5.
48 minutes ago, zing21042 said:The Obvious: The problem could have been solved rather easily. I have touted that Aiken should have been offered a deal...I think we just let him walk which was a mistake. We could have kept him for a decent price and not gone overboard on the FA market; he was a perfect replacement for Smith. This would have left us with basically filling the offensive line position vacated by Wagner and then focusing what moneys we had left on the holes in our defense.
Squeeze the Juice out: The Juice's prowess as a receiver could be replaced by a TE and Juice is not the blocker that this position commands. Most teams don't even use the FB so maybe it is time the Ravens save the money, save the position, move to the 21st century and look for a blocking running back rather than a universal back who was rarely used to run the ball.
The Problem: I do not know how one evaluates the totality of our offensive capabilities in the absence of a quarterback capable of using the weapons provided him. The only thing that needed correcting on our offense was the mindset of the QB. Asked another way, do you really think our record would have been 8-8 (or worse) had Rothlesberger, Brady, Prescott, Dalton, Ryan, Luck, Rodgers, Wilson, Carr, Cousins or a fistful of other QBs been with the Ravens last year and all else remained exactly the same...including the merry-go-round on the offensive line? The weapons were in place to get us to the playoffs; the mindset of the QB was not.
The Mistake: The front office is trying to provide Flacco with "weapons" but fails to realize that "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Next year, Flacco will again be Flacco, so why not try and win with a stellar defense and hope Flacco does not turn the ball over as much.
I'd love to see Dalton with our weapons the last 4 years, it would be comical. I'd like to see Carr and Dak without godly lines, you realize AJ Green, Bryant, etc, etc don't come with them right?
Forget it, who cares anyway this forum is going away

Another Wide Receiver down!
No way is he worth that, guess they didn't learn from overpaying Torrey Smith, which btw, I'm ok if we could get him for good money.
Well I'm gonna miss you Flacco haters that post here, you're still more enjoyable than Facebook conjecture

Wow. As a fan who left Baltimore in 2003 and found this community I can't say enough about how upsetting this is. Facebook has some of the worst 'Raven' fans.

I like (hope) to think we would of played a lot more inspired football and beat them had we needed to, the loss the previous week was too demoralizing and players didn't care , it showed.

That game still haunts me, Joe and the offense were clicking, it felt special. Damn injuries
It's almost not even worth coming on here anymore with all the negativity.
I'll brace for the, "Are we not allowed to be critical must we be blindly optimistic" rebuttal.
I should elaborate, it's not so much negativity but downright hate for the coach and QB coupled with ridiculous alternative plans.

At least if you're wrong there won't be a select subset of this forum's population that trolls him heavily after every mistake he makes in a game blaming every loss on him. Then again, this forum won't be around anyway and I'll miss arguing about Flacco with you Virginia.
For the record I'm pretty pumped about Dixon as well and think he could be special, i'm hoping, I'll try to spin this particular violation as a positive and say it keeps his legs fresher for longer / gives someone else on the roster a chance to step up.
