  1. like MANY other more competent fans have said if it's not broken, why change it?

for once today running game was going great (with west, because dixon was understandably useless and allen nothing more than a backup imo) ...why getting away from it?

for all (not just purple dog) blaming joe for his mistakes...guys you DO have to understand the guy is 9 months removed from a double knee tear...it usually takes 12 to 15 months to regain playing shape and until the following year to not feel anything...give him a break

i see NOBODY pointing out the ABSOLUTE lack of pass rush...

and nobody arguing about the complete uneffectiveness of doom...he clearly is not 100% yet...so why not letting him heal more and continue to play judon???

and...where in the world is Will Davis???

and perriman HAS to make the first half's catch AND he has to have the presence of mind of dragging his first freaking foot on the ground... that's one of the first things they teach you when you play WR at peewee level...

there's more but i'll stop here...

  2. 2 hours ago, Purple Dawg 96 said:

Joe is done I'm in favor of Ryan Mallet starting and I except all yall criticism because it don't fly over here! Blaming the O line and Trestman is getting old other players are getting replaced or cut but one! It is whut it is! That's two in a row at home SMH!

this purple dog 96 is the same dude that for the whole past year was advocating benching joe in favor of schaub, claiming we would have won the superbowl with him...

until when they actually were FORCED to play him, and then he shut his mouth up...

  3. RE: Monachino and Pees - It makes sense that Pagano would get a good Ravens coach to become his DC and he knows and worked with Monachino. I'd have like to see the DB coach go but he sucks, but that's a separate issue. If we had to loss a defensive position coach LB coach is probably best because Pees was a damn good LB coach himself regardless of what anyone thinks of him now. With all the injury derailing his defenses recently I don't see all the Pees hate as rational. It's frustrating, yes, but I don;t believe that Rex or Pagano would've been able to overcome the same problems Pees has faced. As far as the defensive player talent level, that's on Ozzie and DeCosta. Overall this is a successful team since Harbs took the helm from Billick. Harbs has one losing season an missed out on 2 other SBs because of garbage Patriots cheating ans Lee stinking Evans. Pees was a part of every SB contending/winning team rebuilding three defenses by mid-season to end up one of the best defense in the second half of each of those seasons. Imagine what he can do with a healthy defensive unit? I think Bisciotti, Harbs and Ozzie understand that.

EXCEPT FOR THE FACT that aside from Suggs (who was a tougher blow than everybody expected) defense was basically intact the majority of the season...

Please don't come out with Canty losing time, because Lawrence Guy played almost as effectively as him...

  4. Strongly disagree, this team needs a new Secondary coach and wde receiver coach. the ravens have been comletly unable to developany players they draft at these positions for about 4 years now. Marlon Brown, Reed, Omar Brown, Matt Elam, Terrence Brooks, Chykie Brow. All our starters at these positions are veterans that were coached up somewhere else....There is starting to be a trend

IF I COULD give you 100 thumbs up I would so do it!

THAT gentleman is our team's BIGGEST problem!

  5. I agree will all you are saying. The jury is out next year for Pees. Ravens fans are so spoiled from being in the play-offs year in and year out, that when it doesn't happen, many get really critical of everything and everyone. In the time I'm following football, Ravens have missed play-offs 2x - 2013, when Juan Castillo was the scapegoat and all the discussion forums here were filled with "Fire Juan!" "Castillo shouldn't be here!" etc etc. In the end, we replaced center and all is well with the OL, last year and this year and no one is riding his behind here anymore. This year it'd Dean Pees. And that's regardless of the fact that we lost Suggs week 1 and about 6843 CBs to the IR, and still managed to be in the top 10 defense at the end of the year. There is definitely room for improvement in defense. If there wasn't, we'd be playing this coming Sunday. However, it wasn't near as tragic as it looks.

I think you're basically wrong on some instances...

1st of all...this year we didn't have 6843 CBs going to the IR, that was LAST year's excuse for Pees...

only CB gone to the IR worth mentioning was Will Davis who was playing pretty good in a short amount of time...

other than Suggs, and until the season was basically lost, no other high profile players got out on D...

Yet we're still here defending pees? and the DB coach?

  6. My thoughts: 1. Marc trestman needs to go. At the beginning of the season, there was an article stating that he would not abandon the run game. However, we aren’t even in the top 20 for rushing attempts per game (25th in the league). In this game and in many other games, our top rusher didn’t even have 10 carries. Ravens football is running the ball, we have one of the best run blocking o-lines in football and we aren’t using that to our advantage. We are averaging 42 passing attempts per game (4th in the league) and we don’t have the weapons in the passing game for us to average that much. Because of us passing so much this season, it could be argued that there was too much workload on Steve smith and flacco’s part which is why they could have gotten injured. If you look at the games we won, we ran the ball effectively in all of them and in the games we lost, we threw the ball 40 times. Joe Flacco is most effective when he throws the ball 30-35 times a game and rushes the ball approximately the same number of times, which is why he was most effective in kubiak’s scheme. In 2014, we were 11th in rushing attempts per game and mid 17th in passing attempts per game, and Joe flacco played outstanding in that season. Marc trestman needs to learn how to use the run game to his advantage or else we need to find a new offensive coordinator. I don’t care if it will be his 5th offensive coordinator in 5 seasons or whatever the number will be, if we can find a offensive coordinator to make flacco what he was in 2014, we should leave marc trestman. 2. Dean pees needs to go. We have the talent on defence, but if we are going t play prevent defence and still give up 20 yards plays and also having no turnovers, the blame will have to him. The players do deserve blame, but I feel that we need a change in coordinator (pagano) to bring us back to a ravens defence. 3. We are getting better with the penalties (comparing it to the beginning of the year), but stupid personal fouls keep hurting us and will continue to cost us.

    completely agree with you!

  7. WR wasn't the reason why this team couldn't get it done. Every good QB we faced tore us up in embarrassing fashion. We didn't capitalize enough on offense this year, and never finished teams off when we had the lead, but It was our defense that couldn't hold its own against the top offenses. Flacco has only been successful with a great defense. He doesn't need the best WR's in the NFL, he needs a possession WR, a Deep Threat, a Solid TE, and a good O-Line. Bosa or Ramsey Round 1. Oakman Round 2. Think about how we dominated Pittsburgh in the playoffs last year. The formula to win with Flacco has already been proven. This team needs more defensive talent.

    allow me to disagree...

what this team lacks is not talent, what this team lacks is COACHING...

how come we are not able to develop A SINGLE WR???

how come every DB that comes to the Ravens becomes a scrub and once he leaves (ihedigbo, stewart) he plays at a pro-bowl level?

i am one of the fieriest supporters of the "fire pees" wagon but I have to admit he is not the lone problem of our team...

  8. At this point after watching every game. It isn't just one person's fault when something bad happens. On offense, we obviously would have liked to have been healthy. I think Trestman deserves another shot because he wasn't terrible, in fact our offense for as lackluster as it is with injuries has still put up yards, but I hated watching him abandon the run in numerous games earlier in the season.I'm pray SSS comes back and Perriman is still who we thought he was and if a valuable vet comes available in FA lets get them because we have some nice rotational guys, just need a difference maker that will allow those guys to have less pressure on them. Aiken and Butler have looked formidable. On Defense, I think injuries have killed us, but Pees always seems to call the worst kind of plays. And it doesn't help that our lack of a pass rush has led to our corners getting torched or having their coverage break down, which is never helped by a competent FS either lol. I just want the good ol days of a solid 5 man rush and man on man coverage with both of our safeties roaming looking to help the corners or make a play on the ball....2016 hopefully

YOU say injuries on D killed us...

the question is: who besides Suggs has been injured and not properly replaced? Yeah because if you mention Canty I'd say Lawrence Guy replaced him more than honorably...

Will Davis (former Dolphins CB) is the only other D player that was making strides in the little time he played before killing his knee...

    Other injuries on D???

  9. I completely agree with Bio on the secondary coach faults...

I mean...EVERY FREAKING DB that comes and plays for us either dramatically regresses to lackluster play or simply wanders around the field like he doesn't know where he belongs...

AND...do not forget pees three weeks ago said in an interview "they were trying things out trying to put the best combination of players on the field" ...

isn't it being clueless as of WHAT YOU HAVE if you need all offseason, preseason and half of the season to basically evaluate your players???

    man our d is screwed...

  10. First of all...like I said in another post...I am a COMPLETE idiot...

On sunday I wasn't able to locate the blue lot (better, I thought it was somewhere and when I didn't see enough ravens supporters I gave up and got inside the stadium) until when up on the escalators I saw the purple cloud of people...DAMN IT!!!

On the team needs...I firmly believe PASS RUSHER(s) is the most glaring and blatant need we do have...

Everybody knows a good pass rush helps TREMENDOUSLY guys in the back, because one thing is having to cover a guy for 2 seconds (Jimmy Smith, Shareece Wright and Webb can do that, and don't forget Will Davis who was playing lights out for a couple of games before killing his knee) a totally different animal is keeping track of a guy for 4 or 5 or even more...

Left tackle has DEFINITELY become an issue due to the lack of dependability of Monroe, we should be able to pick something good in the 2nd or 3rd (I wouldn't wait too much because later rounds often need one year limbo before being able to be thrown into full time game duties)

Honestly doubt SSS will come back, so we will need to scour another veteran free agent WR (though I'm fairly happy with what I've seen from Aiken and Butler lately)

I don't know how much of this makes sense LOL I just felt the need to write...

  11. AAAAND...I'd REALLY love to point something out to all the Flacco bashers around (especially matt's girlfriend purpledawg)

Just one name needs to be done...Aaron Rodgers...

Just one season needs to be named...THIS ONE...

He was named MVP past year (not 52 years ago) , he has been playing in the same FREAKING system for his whole life, under the same set of schemes throughout his ENTIRE career, yet his #1 weapon (Jordy Nelson) goes down in preseason and what he is doing now? He is playing like an average qb...

Joe NEVER had the luxury to play 2 years in a row under a GOOD (and I underline good because Cam was NOT good) OC (so with the same system) , is often times surrounded by no-name receivers (remember what he did the years he had some decent ones? 2011 he went one drop and one missed fg from the sb, the following we all know what he did) yet you guys are still blaming him and want him released...

    end of rant

  12. Awesome, come to the Blue Lot (where the buses park) for the Bmore around town Tailgate. Ravens fans take over this game every year!!!!!!

I KNOW RAVENS FANS ALWAYS TAKE OVER THIS GAME...

Still remember 2 years ago when the clearly ignorant dolphins music selector was repeatedly playing seven nation army and ravens fans were getting more and more in the game hahaha...

This year I will be able to come there...I'm going alone (wife is 8 month pregnant so she doesn't come) so I'll be there early...

if it doesn't rain I'll come by...

I will be wearing purple jersey no number (can't find my #20 one) and black ravens hat, if it's cold (cold here in miami is below 73 lol) i'll have purple ravens hoodie on...

if someone recognizes me holler...i'll be like a deer in the headlights hahaha

  13. I did read yesterday somewhere around here someone saying that Perriman does have Osgood-Schlatter in his knees...

should this really be the case, he's NEVER going to play a single down in the NFL...

I do have it on my knees, it is a genetic "anomaly" that has your knee front bones stick further down than they should, this altering your walking style, making it unconfortable to stay standing for any period of time and other minor problems...

    https://www.google.com/search?q=osgood schlatter&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=775&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMInMTN_87TyAIVwaoeCh2sTQ-c

What TRULY baffles me, should this be true, is HOW IN THE WORLD did the ravens doctors miss this one...should this be true THE WHOLE MEDICAL STAFF should be taken their phds and thrown in the firepits...

  14. My assumption, based on how the coaching staff reacted, was that everyone on the defense knew what the coverage was, and that Wright basically blew it. If you're playing man coverage with no help over the top, getting beat deep is not an option. You can give up a short or intermediate completion in front of you all day long, but you can't get beat deep.

Falling for a double move from a player who really only runs a small segment of routes is a gigantic mistake, regardless of whether there's help over the top or not.

Aaaaand that brings us back to the main issue that basically is:

who in his right mind would leave SHAREECE WRIGHT (not Deion Sanders) one on one against ANYBODY, not just Torrey and his speed...

I mean...9 players in the box and the two CBs one on one is PURE INSANITY...

    Time for Pees to go...

    2

  15. @The conqueror worm...

Harbs wasn't chewing Will Hill, he was chewing Wright...and the commentators noticed how there were 9 men in the box...

If I am up in the stands (like our DC is) and see this alignment and think it's not the one I want I IMMEDIATELY yell in Harbs' headphone "call a time out!!!"

this didn't happen, that's why I put the blame on the DC...

About the other part of your comment...I'm OBVIOUSLY not talking about the on-the-run panic acquisitions...

I'm talking about Will Hill, Kendrick Lewis, past year Darian Stewart was the worse safety ever, now is having a probowl season, Ihedigbo the same...

    1

  16. I hardly ever comment but after yesterday's game I cannot stay put anymore...

First of all...I have NO FREAKING CLUE of why in this world Dean Pees still has a job...

How can you leave Torrey in single coverage with no safety help against your new corner whom Torrey has been practicing until two weeks ago???

It's OBVIOUS that it's either going to be a TD or a long PI...

I totally concur with one of you guys past week noticing that DBs that are supposedly stars in the making or at least solid players come to the Ravens and start sucking...that to me IS A SCHEME PROBLEM...

Will Hill wasn't that average of a player, he had behavior issues...now those are solved but his play is lackluster to say the least

Kendrick Lewis (watch out for his leg, hopefully nothing serious) was SOLID at least in Houston, here is a nobody...

I get it that we've been bitten by the injury bug even harder this year than past year, but this nonsense simply has to STOP!

I'm having a feeling (moreso hoping) Pags gets the boot at the end of the year and we get him back, or I would promote Monachino to DC...I'm SURE he wouldn't do any worse than Pees...only problem with promoting him is we're going to lose him soon...

Boy do the niners suck??? Well...we suck even more...

And...I NEVER put the blame on Flacco but this one is equally on him as well as on the DC...that nonsense 2nd int was a pee-wee mistake, not a superbowl mvp one...

You know it's going to be a long day when Tucker misses a FG...

If we don't right the ship the yearly guaranteed december win here in Miami won't be that guaranteed...

One positive...if we keep on we will have a REALLY high draft pick, that Oz will gladly convert in 15 future 3rd rounders...
