You can want to throw deep but if your o-line can't keep you upright for more than a second, it's not gonna work. Seems like the Redskins went man-to-man yesterday and none of the Ravens WRs could get open (during that 1 second before the pocket collapsed), so that's got to be sorted out too.
It's great that the Ravens have a big armed QB, too bad he only has about 1 second before the pocket collapses on each passing play. I'll be surprised if Flacco is still healthy at the end of this season.
Harbaugh's failed decision to go for 2 early in last weeks game contributed to that loss, his failed decision to fake a FG (when we have the best kicker in the league) contributed to this weeks loss. Trestman's decision not to hand the ball to West is a head shaker too. The 1st 4 minutes of this game were awesome, the final 56 minutes were a complete CF.
The Ravens only have 2 WR's, Smith Sr. and Wallace.....Chris Moore and Perriman can't catch a cold, Aiken's never open. Once the Ravens get inside the 20 they might as well just put in Pitta, Gillmore, Waller and Dan Brown and throw jump balls.
The offense was pathetic......and the weakest link was the o-line, pass blocking. Our tackles looked they were wearing cement shoes and Ziggie Hood was blowing Zuttah and Urschel off the ball on every drop back. It doesn't help to have a big armed QB if he only has 1 second to get rid of the ball.....West should have had 25 carries at the end of the game, not 11.
Offense, defense, special teams, dumb penalties and 2 bad decisions by Harbaugh, a recipe for a loss every time......it's a wonder Flacco didn't get killed with Jensen and Hurst out there.
The Ravens' running game is horrible and the Ravens need to get rid of that stupid "4 foot pitch out" play to Forsett. That thing fools nobody. Passing attack is good, defense is good, special teams is good.....the weak link is the running attack.
It was good to see Zachary Orr making some plays. If he and CJ stay healthy our ILB situation will be good. Even Correa made a couple of plays. D-line looked good when they dialed up the pass rush. The least impressive things? The running game and Breshad Perriman.....he looks like an alligator on in-routes.
Pitta doesn't have to worry about Gillmore for a while. He's down with a calf injury that's gonna require an MRI....so, 2 days in and 2 guys down (Dixon and Gillmore). Deja vu all over again.
I would love to hear more details regarding the stupid 5 minute padded punting drill decision. Whose idea was that? Harbs? If so, how could he not know the rules? Wasn't there somebody around to say "hey, John, I don't think we can do that".The Ravens need a QC guy or a compliance guy to keep the coaches from stepping in doo doo.
