  1. I know the defensive coaches are very happy with this draft, but Gary Kubiak and company might have to wait next year.

I am hoping we can keep kubiak next year. I hope this is not a stepping stone for the right head coaching job to open.

  2. I think this draft also had a lot to do with cap coming next year. Ngata maybe webb etc... with that said I was hoping to pick a corner like desir to match up with with smith if we have to release webb if we cant restructure. I liked the first 3 but we reached on the te.

  3. Come on san fran we gave u boldin for basically nothing and now u trade your pick to the browns... going to be a fight and the next harbaugh holiday gathering. Since they picked a rb in this draft maybe they will trade us one of theirs... if Lattimore is healthy enough maybe they give him to us for a water cooler... he was a beast before blowing up his knees.

  4. So explain to me how a smaller (weight) and weaker player in CJ mosley will not get swallowed up as a Inside Linebacker....

I was wondering... why are you arguing that we add another olb when we have doom sizzle hamilton simon bynes and will probably draft a guy in the 6 or 7th... and not an inside lb who is considered the best in the draft when we have only 2 three if you count bynes...

  5. I do want to say that one reason why I'm not too, too keen on the Ravens selecting C.J. Mosley is that this franchise has drafted a lot of linebackers early in recent years: Sergio Kindle (Ugh!), Courtney Upshaw (Meh...) and Arthur Brown (Still to be determined.).

Basically, I just hope this team struck big with Mosley. Prove me wrong, C.J.!

those picks were olb... except for Brown who was still has potential but playing in mlb for the Ravens is harder coming from a less complex d like kstate had.

  6. I was wondering why people were wanting Pryor (Elam clone) or Ha Ha... doesn't tackle very well. If we want another Elam we can pick Buccanon later... I am surprised we didn't hear anybody complain about not taking Johnny football. I like the pick we got. Arthur is still not ready as a starter.

  7. True, I like a lot of the TEs in the draft but I like most of them as blockers more except the first round guys. Either way, I really really really don't want to count on a rookie LT so we need to either keep Monroe or get a good FA LT. The question is who else? Albert is good but he is injury prone, the Raiders are more than likely going to re-sign their guy, Collins on the Bengals is good but he is unproven.

thats why I say worry about monroe and if pitta walks he walks and saves us to look at a ball hawk free safety as well.

  8. Monroe is crucial to this offense, and overall team success. We simply can't afford to lose him. Giving Oher franchise Lt $$ would never be worth it, regardless how much I do love the guy.

We need Monroe as our Franchise LT in so many ways, that it truly affects everything this off-season. Signing him to a long-term deal gives us stability at LT that we haven't had since Ogden. I'm not saying he is JO, but he is a LT that is consistent, and durable that will stay in the lineup and play at a high level.

IF we can't retain him, it changes the entire draft philosophy. And I think, everyone here knows that we need a 1st round caliber pass catcher to move forward successfully.

PS. Not sure why everyone thinks Pitta will expect some massive contract? When you dissect his numbers, it simply doesn't warrant big time money. And trust me, I love, and want to keep Pitta as much as anyone. But we need to be reasonable.

I would love to keep monroe and oher for consistency. Oher yanda jensen/gradkoski ko and monroe. Let pitta walk on for a big contract. We can pick up 1 maybe 2 good tes in thus draft and wr. Also look out for the center at UNC... hes a beast.

  9. i am sorry but te are easier to replace then left tackles. So resign Monroe and maybe even Oher. With kubiak and a new scheme keeping a line together that knows each other is more important. We can find a te in the first 2 rounds and also a wr with which ever pick we dont use on a te.

  10. With complete honesty, given the four names we have, I'll take any of them over Hostler. I just don't see where Hostler has anything to offer over the other three names. To me, that promotion would only solidify all the Harbs & his buddies talk.

I think Joe likes Hostler and that may play a roll as well. Kirby although may lit a fire under his butt. He is a motivated guy and I like that. Plus it can give us stability. The rest of the guys could be a few years from a HC job and that puts us back at square 1.

  11. I have a feeling it will be from within... juan or jim. But I would stay away from the nfl rehires and try a new path. Maybe a college coordinator. Someone with nfl aspirations that can change our scheme up. This scheme isnt working anymore and teams are starting to target it. Even if we get new pieces I think the scheme needs to be revamped. So why not think outside the box and get somebody with new ideas and speed the tempo up.

  12. I want to draft a first round wr and keep pitta only and I say only if the price is right. Plus if his signing is a toss up between someone like resigning D. SMITH or finding a true free safety. I say go with Dickson he will come for pennies compared to pitta even with the injury.

  13. Q's leadership and toughness will certainly be missed, but the Ravens have made moves like this before and it's almost always worked out. Right player, right price. Boldin's "right price" was about $4M, and he wouldn't budge (and rightfully so). Now we're gonna be loaded with draft picks that we can play with and maybe move up or use them to trade for someone else.

Also, now we have cap space to bring back Reed and possibly Ellerbe.

    It was a necessary move.

I hear that Reed may be following Q to San fran. If that happens they will resemble the Ravens football mystique more than the Ravens do. They have a great defense although it was shredded by Boldin and adding a free lance safety to go with their pass rush could make them unbelievable. Watch out NFC.

  14. What most people don't understand, is that only bad teams pay players for what they have done in the past. Good teams realize when it's time to move on, we did it with Mason, we did it with Heap, we may do it with Boldin. I understand people want him back, but sometimes you have to sit back and realize how foolish it really is to cling to vain pedigrees and past glories.

Yes we did it with Mason and Heap but we had someone there to fill in... we don't have anyone to fill in now... Boldin is 10x the player either of those guys were and we traded him away. We haven't been great in Free agency or the draft on getting wr. Jones is a return guy and Boldin was from a trade and Smith has been our only draft pick to show up. So to think we can replace Q through the draft or free agency is not in our history... its just as bad as finding a qb.

  15. BOOOOO.

    1) A 6th rounder? Come on!

    2) Boldin is still a beast. It's no coincidence that we got rid of Cam and Q started beasting.

    3) It's lame to get rid of Anquan over 2 million. Leach is much more replaceable and makes 4.5.

    4) Nobody on this team is ready to be a #1 WR or be the leader of the WRs.

    5) We better keep Ellerbe now.

    6) The fans who just blindly trust whatever the Ravens do, and say you aren't a true fan if you question moves are annoying.

    Totally agree
