  1. I think you're probably right. Over this 5 game streak with no takeaways, we've actually had a fairly significant number of opportunities to get interceptions, but our guys just aren't completing the play. Lots of "dropped" interceptions. Missed chances. Not sure why I watch defenders the league over making great catches to intercept the ball, when our guys have stone hands. I thought all defenders were stereotyped as having stone hands, that's why they play D and not offense... but that stereotype seems to be falling to the wayside in the NFL, except seemingly for our team. I see a lot of impressive catches from defenders this year, unfortunately not from the Ravens.

Just to add to this, there are 17 individual players this year with 3 or more interceptions, including 39 year old Charles Woodson with 5. Hell, Marcus Peters, a rookie has 3. We as a team have 3. That's simply pathetic and it's something out defense used to be predicated upon. How times change....

  2. Shame on Archer. I thought he and Lana would hit it off better with the turtle necks.

Wrong Archer. I thought he could be the next Sproles. Was happily wrong.

The tac-ta-neck?!? He invented that, you know. It's a superior tactical garment.

  3. I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Campanaro is pissed off at Perriman. Campanaro went on IR for an injury he claims has a quick recovery timeframe. The Ravens put him on IR because they need a roster spot, which he could've kept his if Perriman went instead.

Here you have a guy who clearly wants to be on the field and could be, but our first round rookie isn't, for whatever reason. I know some will say he should blame the Ravens for not putting Perriman on IR instead of Campanaro, but people don't always rationalize like that.

This is a valid point. I guess it goes back to the misdiagnosis from the get go. It's likely that the medical staff kept (and keep, apparently) telling Harbaugh he would be back, there is no need for IR, yet here we are months later and he's still not practicing. I would say if he's not practicing after the bye, we should just put him on IR and use that roster spot.

  4. I'm actually interested in seeing how well Elam plays next season or how he preforms in training camp. He supposely look like a changed player before his injury in camp . Sometimes people have to face serious embarrassment and down fall inorder to become more humble and focused.

How does a guy like Elam make it to the field? He won't beat out Will Hill for the SS spot, I doubt he would be out Lewis (as bad as he's been) or Brooks for the FS spot. Unless he suddenly learns how to play STs, I don't really see a place for him on the team, at least as a starter.

  5. Great topic!!!

When I was a kid, there was no Baltimore football, they left the year I was born. My moms side of the family grew up in east Baltimore and were die hard Colts fans. My dad grew up in college park and they were Skins fans. I liked Marino growing up, but didn't really get to see many games growing up in bmore. I was really a huge Os fan and have find memories of Memorial Stadium in the 80s and early 90s. Then the baseball strike happened and I started to realize how boring baseball really is.

At the same time, there were rumblings about expansion. That jerk Tagliabu told the city we "should build a musium for the Colts because we would never get a NFL franchise." That defiantly rubbed me the wrong way. So low and behold there's talk about Modell moving the Browns. I was instantly hooked, and going into HS, football was much more interesting to me. I went out and bought a Baltimore Browns t shirt as soon as the news became public and have been a die hard fan ever since!! Still have that shirt... Somewhere!!!

  6. Actually fat maxx did have an OK game. What I meant is he is not an elite TE and does not have the skill set to be Gronk,Gates or Graham like everybody is saying he does. He does not have speed or an extra gear to strike fear in defenses. He will be serviceable but not elite. I am harsh on fat maxx because he does have some athleticism working for him. If he reshaped his flabby bod he would gain a step of speed and perhaps even find that extra gear and be far stronger. He needs to lose about 15-20 lbs of fat and put on 15-20 lbs of muscle. He is leaving speed and athleticism on the table!! If he adopted Gronks work ethic in the training room and on the practice field he could potentially be a pro bowler. But be showed up with bad eating habits and bad work habits. And was culture shocked at the muscularity, speed and power of NFL players as opposed to that joke of a conference he played in college. He needs to be like Gronk. First on the practice field!! And a strict training and nutrition program. He acknowledged he needed to change his eating habits when he showed up at rookie camp. He could be a 1000 yard 10 td guy if he seriously dedicated himself to his craft and getting in shape.

He played at Minnesota, which is in the Big 10. I wouldn't call that a joke of a confrence.

  7. Bold prediction.

    Arizona:48

    Baltimore:17

Dean Pees will be relieved of his duties after this debacle to come, and Coach CB will take over as interim DC. He will understand that we don't have the horses to rely on 1 on 1 match ups and will use a scheme to hide our players weaknesses.

Things will be better in the future guy's. I mean hell it can't get any worse right?

Oh, it most certainly can get worse. Much worse...

  8. 1. Guard production does not drop quickly

    2. Only $15 million is guaranteed over four years. If he starts to suck it's not a lot to eat

    3. I think we're expecting Yanda to continue doing well.

    4. Remember also that the cap is expanding every year. 7 million won't be all that much in year four of this deal.

Correct, not to mention there are 4 other guards that have higher annual salaries, that aren't better players. I think it's a good deal for the best player on our roster, have to reward those guys.

  9. Tough break after he had played so well last week. I really wanted to see more of him.

Curious to see how we fill his roster spot. There's definitely been a focus on finding an outside CB to keep Webb in the slot. Charles James and Asa Jackson are on the practice squad, but I'm not sure I like either of them on the outside.

Well, there is still Melvin. He was terrible against Cinci, but we have few options at the moment. I agree that James and Jackson would be better fits inside, so we might just have to bite the bullet and keep Webb outside and Arrington inside. That's all contingent on Webbs injury.

It may be a good idea to start using Brooks more at FS. Can't be much worse than Lewis and at least he has some speed.
