  1. Been doing some thinking here and I think we should focus on building a bully on offense. After watching the recent games, I think it's clear to me that's why we struggle against the Bengals. How do we lose to them? Turnovers, man. They have a great secondary year in and year out but we lose to them. Why? Turnovers, which primarily occur on offense, seem to be our undoing. I think if we re-sign KO, then that reduces the need for a LT even more. While I wasn't a big fan of the idea initially, after thinking some, I think we should take Treadwell with our first pick.

If Perriman busts, you have an insurance policy. If Perriman booms, you have a potentially another great player across from him & could have two #1 WRs, which would be ridiculous. We will keep Aiken as well, and I wouldn't mind him at all as a #3 or #4 in that scenario. Having those two WR with Steve Smith? Wow, that is a lethal offense. That's not including the TEs. I would also inject more young talent into the OL. I'd love a high draft pick at LT, but if we re-sign KO, we need an insurance policy. This is a strong draft for LT, so we could get one on the 2nd or 3rd or maybe the 4th round. They could be a reserve LG or LT, which would be great since we can kick Hurst to the curb.

This would also allow us to control the ball more. I don't like the defense and I think it can be better, but I like the potential we have already on offense & I think it may be easier to improve on the offense than the defense. Also, we've seen Ozzie pull rabbits out of his hat on defense before, especially pass rusher.

This isn't to say I want us to ignore the defense. I'd be fine taking a defensive player. We need turnovers, but I think we could get that guy later. While I also think WRs are available later, I think getting a guy close to Treadwell would be harder to get. Boyd & Fuller (Notre Dame WR) are the closest to him, IMO, but I do like Treadwell's catching radius better. Coleman is also a good WR, but the Baylor thing is a concern of mine, legitimate or not.

Agreed. Love Treadwell and what he could bring to this team. Let's face it, it's not every year were in a position to even think about a guy like that. We are 1 piece away from having one of those Arizona, Pitt, NE whatever you want to call it offense that can't be stopped. Tunsil is likely not an option (and maybe unnecessary depending on what happens with Monroe or KO) so hit on a WR and come back with with a pass rusher and LT with the next 2 picks.

A lot of our defensive problems can be solved with a pass rusher like Yannick. I actually like Jimmy and Wright on the outside and if Webb spends the offseason learning FS we would be a different team on defense.

  2. Would ya look at that. Didn't realize that. Maybe we get Pagano back. I personally doubt it, still, because of all the variables, but it'd be nice.

    Lebeau did it as well.

But I agree with you 100%, Pagano isn't coming back. Ed Reed was the main reason he came here in the first place. Similar to the Suggs and Monachino situation. It's possible he developed a relationship with Harbs, but I seriously doubt he comes back. He will get HC offers if he wants them.

  3. Forsett, Buck, LT and West. Those are the Runningbacks we have right now. The sudden awakening of Buck and West kinda make Forsett the odd men out. Obviously we can't use four RB's. So who do we move? We do we keep? Who's the #1 back?

Of the 3, LT has shown the least. He is still cheap, but I think the team likes Forsett's leadership too much to cut him. We wouldn't even save that much. I would drop LT

  4. Hence why we've been drafting more 4-3 style personnel. We just need a coach that knows how to play it. Again a disconnect between FO, Coaches, and scouts. Everyones gotta get on the same train. This isnt simply fire Pees or we. This is, they all need to get on the same page. And we havent been, for years. Look, think Pees os a good DC? Thats fine, but get the scouts and Oz on board and find who he needs. But weve been drafting for a 4-3 and fitting into a 3-4 minded guy playing in a nickle with a 4-3 base almost half the time. The conduit is broken. Thats all Im saying.

And that's a valid point. I think Oz struggles with getting guys that fit into what Dean wants to do. He had a GREAT working relationship with Rex and had no issues getting him players that fit. Maybe it was Rex was better at playing to guys streangths, but there is an obvious disconnect right now between the scouts and coaches. When GMs and coaches are on the same page, you see things like what's going on in Seattle on D or Pitt on O.

I don't have any love for Pees, but not many DC would ask a guy like Williams to be a 5 tech. He may have done it in college, but there's a huge difference between Southern Missouri State and the NFL. Guys like Goose and Adams were in the 6'3 or 6'4 range. BWill the best NT in the NFL right now and I don't really see a reason to ask him to do anything different. Again the issue isn't the interior line, it's the ends and LBs. Mosley is really the only one that fits. Brown might, but he's a FA in 17 and we will either have to pay him or replace him. Even if we forget that, we still don't have a Sam, or depth at any of those spots.
